Chapter 75 - Chapter 75 – Adrian’s and Russell’s Nostalgia

Adrian's POV

The next morning, after breakfast, we checked out of the inn and went out in town. After we have done two things here, we will go to Leafmight to report to our guild. Well, first thing goes to me. So, I led them to an area in the outskirts of town in the east where my family home used to stand. There it was now just an empty lot where a marble memorial grave bore the name of my parents, who were just ordinary commoners. The surrounding area is green grass.

"This is it," said I as we stood on the grass facing the lone grave of my late parents. "This is where my family's home used to stand on."

 "Here?" Russell asked.

I nodded. "Yes, 5 years ago, it was a happy home consisted of me and my parents."

[Flashback to 5 years ago…]

I came home from playing in the woods one early evening when I saw that my family home, which is a simple hut, was on fire. Many of the townspeople are now helping out putting out the fire. I was shocked and horrified.

Later, the fire had been put out, but the house is no more. Even worse, the charred bodies of my parents were found inside of it, dead and gone. Now I became an orphan as a result, and even though some people helped out putting out the fire, I had no one to turn to. So, I packed up what are my remaining belongings and left town, never to be seen again.

Where I went after that is Rossley, the capital of the Southern Plains, to try to survive as a homeless orphan.

[Flashback ended; back to the present…]

Russell and his group were astonished and shocked to hear such a sad backstory from me. "Yeah…" I said while looking down in a sad mixture of melancholy and nostalgia, "…that was sad for me." As a result, my group became sympathetic to me because of my loss of loved ones.

 "We understand."

"We can be your family if you want."

 "We're here for you."

"You can count on us, amigo."

Hearing all that, I looked at them with happiness on my eyes. "Thanks. If wasn't for you guys, I don't know what would happen to me now.":

Russell then placed his right hand on my left shoulder for a few moments. "Yes, we are here for you. If you need anything from us, don't hesitate to ask us, okay?"

"Yes, okay, thank you so much."

I became happy, knowing that there are other people who cared for me.

Russell and the others were happy for me in response, and Rai came to me to give me a tight, quick hug, surprising me a lot.

But still, me and Cassius-san would not reveal our secret agenda to them, or it would be a big shock for them.

No, don't do it!

Russell's POV

Later after that, it's my turn to reveal my location where I first woke up in this world. That location is in the outskirts of town in the northeast. So, I led them to that location.

[There…]

"This is it," I said to them boldly with positive confidence.

My group gazed at that spot in the woods.

 "Here?"

 "Are you sure about that?"

"Yes, I woke up here," I replied back while looking at here. "It brings me back memories of my first day here."

 "Oh, okay," Azalea responded.

"It's nice to be here, isn't it?" Cassius added.

I then nodded. "Yes, it is, with me knowing and learning the basic mechanics of driving my bus."

Yup, this place gave me melancholic feelings of nostalgia.

Unlike Adrian's, mine are of happiness.
