Chapter 64 - Chapter 64 – Going to Hadrianwood!

Russell's POV

Today was really good, with me doing something so smart and everything. Hehe…I'm getting more adaptive and used to this new world.

The next morning, after eating a hearty breakfast, me and my party and group will be leaving the city towards our next destination: Hadrianwood. So, as we were about to leave the house, the old lady bid us farewell with a soft, old voice. "Thank you so much for letting us stay in your house, ma'am," Cassius said to her.

"Yes, no problem, Sir Cassius," the old lady replied back. "You and your friends may come here anytime. Besides, I'm lonely so I'm used to having someone giving me some company."

"Bye, old lady!" Rai waved her goodbye.

We then left and went to our vehicles as the old lady waved us goodbye.

Cassius hopped on his horse, while me and my group hopped into my bus, putting our stuff and settling down.

After that, I used my ignition key to start the engine and closed the door, before shifting the gear from Park to Drive.

Then, we left the old lady's property and went into the city center.

Luckily, despite being hit by stuff during the road chase yesterday, my bus's windshield was somehow resistant to those objects.

Plus, the right side of my bus didn't have a single scratch or anything, indicating that the collision with the horse wagon of the three fraudsters was not that hard.

So, we drove across the city's urban area and parked at a street that goes to the city's eastern gate. Then, I put a paper sign that says "Hadrianwood" in the front, with the text facing the outside through the windshield. "Okay, let's wait for any potential passengers to ride this one," I said to my group, before looking at Cassius on horseback outside. My group agreed and waited.

Then, around 8 minutes later, someone knocked on my bus door. So, I opened the door. "Yes?"

"This one is going to Hadrianwood, right?" that someone, a midwife, asked me.

 "Yes, you too?"

"Yes, can I have a ride here?"

 "Sure, hop in, ma'am."

As the midwife hopped in, 4 other people saw the sign in the front and lined up, chagrining me and my group.

Those 4 people asked me the same question the midwife asked me, to which the midwife answered in confirmation.

So, they asked me for a ride while complimenting my act of heroism from yesterday.

"Yeah, sure, sure, hop in," answered I back.

So, all 5 people hopped in and settled in the back.

John was chilling in his little spot under the dashboard.

My party and group welcomed them.

With that, I closed the door, shifted my gear to Drive, and left the spot, leaving the city via the eastern gate and speeding towards Hadrianwood, which was 12 kilometers away from Fernlay City. Along the way, as I drove along, the 5 passengers onboard were amazed by my bus's speed, as well as the amazing view, and the wind that comes with the bus being fast down the paved road, giving me very good compliments. Some of them even strike up conversations with my party and group. Hearing and seeing those put a smile on my face, knowing they got along so well. Also, along the way, we passed by the site where the horse wagon of the three scamming douchebags was derailed off the road by me and my bus. Seeing that made me snickered a bit on my idea at that time.

Third person POV

Later, at 8:45 a.m., the bus arrived at Hadrianwood, and Russell pulled over at a spot in the town's main street and opened the door. "Okay, we're here." Cassius, who had been following them from behind the whole time, stopped aside and just behind the bus. The passengers looked at the town through the windows, being surprised that they had arrived at that town in just minutes.

 "Wow, we're here?"

 "Yes, this is it, guys."

 "Thank you so much, kid."

"You're welcome, everyone," Russell happily replied back. "That'll be 3 gold coins for each of you."

The five passengers were stunned to hear such cheap fare and all of them grabbed their belongings, stood up from their seats, and went to the front.

Adrian gazed at the town's environment through his window, feeling nostalgic of it.

Then the five passengers, before getting off, paid the individual fares to Russell. Once the five people had gotten off, Russell counted the money he had received from them. The number was 15 gold coins. The young bus driver was happy to earn money after his and his group's stay in Fernlay for a few days. "Man, this is so cool."

But, after putting the money in the lockable money box on the dashboard, Russell remembered that he and his party have to do a quest here in Hadrianwood.
