Third person POV
Later, the group are now back in town's urban areas and stopped by a cooking and dining zone where people can cook food on campfires and eat and drink on table and chair sets. "Woah, what is that?" Russell asked.
"Oh, that's a Meal Zone," replied Azalea.
She knew that because she once saw one on her days as an adventurer.
"A Meal Zone?" Rai asked back.
"Yes," Azalea explained, "this is where people can cook food on campfires and eat and drink on chair and table sets. This is also where people can hang out and socialize with other people. It's kinda more like a public outing and picnic."
She looked at her group with a smile. "We can cook our free food there. I'll buy some firewood and burrow some plates, glasses, and utensils for us."
Russell thought about it for a bit, before nodding in agreement.
"Sure," he responded.
"Yay! Potato skewers!" Adrian yelled out in excitement.
The dragon family was also on it, too.
So, all of them went there and started looking for a vacant spot. Then, they found one and settled there, unloading their stuff and free food. Azalea grabbed her knapsack and went off to the Meal Zone's Store and Station to purchase some firewood and burrow some equipment for their cooking and afternoon meal. A bit later, she was back with those bulky things she bought and burrowed from the owners. So much so, Russell and Adrian had to help out by carrying most of the firewood and equipment for her.
After that, they and the others started preparing their afternoon meal. Russell and Rai gathered the firewood for the campfire, and Kelly used her Fire Magic breath to light the fire. It did the trick, and the campfire was ready to be used for cooking. Adrian used his dagger to slice the potatoes and most of the vegetables he and his group had accepted earlier. Azalea, with her cooking skills, used the individual skewer sticks to pierce the sliced food into them, turning them into skewers ready to be roasted on the campfire.
The preparation only took 25 minutes, and when everything is done, the group eventually held their skewers near the open fire to roast them out. Russell couldn't wait for his cobs of corn to be roasted to perfection, while the same goes for Adrian for his potato skewers. And then, a bit later, their first batch of skewers are done being roasted, and Russell said to them, "Alright, let's dig in, everyone!" And so, he and his group removed their first batch from the fire and blew them to cool them a bit, before taking the first bite of them.
Some pulled the first sliced food from the skewers with their teeth and chewed on them.
Then, all of them felt a good taste on their creation.
"Mhm…this corn is so tasty when it was roasted," Russell responded back.
The taste of it reminded him of his previous life, where he used to eat street food roasted corn cobs as a child with his parents.
So, in this life, the taste of it gave him nostalgic vibes.
Adrian felt the tastiness of the roasted potatoes, feeling so good on his face.
The others tasted theirs and loved what they had made, feeling happy about it.
Then, Russell felt thirsty and looked around the Meal Zone for any water source to fetch water from. Luckily for him, there is a well nearby complete with a wooden bucket and a pulley to lower the bucket into. So, the young bus driver stood up and said to his friends, "Hey, guys, I'll be back. I'll get some water for us." With that, he went off to fetch some water at the said well.
