Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 – More rewards than hard-earned ones

Third person POV

"Yes, we want to come with you, worthy humans," Kelly said to the May party.

The party was stunned to hear the word 'worthy' on her response.

"We want to explore for a while," Rai added.

Ria nodded in persuasion.

Because of that, Russell and his party thought about it first for a few moments, and eventually, they accepted it. "Sure, we'll be going somewhere south," Russell responded back. His party were stunned and looked at him.

 "Really?" Adrian asked.

Russell then nodded without looking at him and others.

Kelly and her daughters were happy to hear their response.

 "Thank you so much!"

"We'll enjoy our trip with you guys for a while, before we would go back here."

Russell then smiled. "Okay, that was settled."

"Also, can we go to town first?" Kelly added another request. "Because we want to apologize to the humans for my attacks on their town."

"Sure, we'll accompany you," Azalea replied back.

And so, all of them went to town. But along the way towards Kapeton, a farmer, who was the same one who gave the May party some coffee beans yesterday, went to them, only to be surprised to see that the party was with Kelly, Rai, and Ria. He knew Kelly as a mysterious woman who was beautiful that she was also the Silver Dragon in her dragon form.

"Um…why are you guys with them?" he asked the May party.

The May party then recognized him as the farmer who gave them some of his coffee beans yesterday.

"Oh, you're that guy from yesterday…" Adrian said to him.

The farmer then nodded. "Yes, that's me. Anyhow, what are you with this woman?"

He pointed at Kelly directly. "This one might be a nice-looking woman, but she was the Silver Dragon who attacked my town."

Russell looked at Kelly, then back at the farmer. "Yes, she is, but she wants to apologize to you and to everyone in town for her actions."

The farmer was stunned to hear that. "What? Really?"

"Yes," Kelly spoke with guilt and remorse, "and I am sorry for attacking your town."

"Um, okay, um…" the farmer replied back, "…is there a reason why you did it?"

And then, Rai and Ria came forward to him and revealed their mother's reason for attacking the town.

Moments later, the farmer was shocked and couldn't believe because he had thought Rai and Ria as just normal, nice, and well-behaving humans. But in reality, Rai and Ria are the twin daughters of the notorious Silver Dragon. "No way…" the farmer commented in shock and disbelief. Ria, who had the same guilt as her mother, then nodded. "Yes, and our disappearance had made her attack the town."

"We are deeply sorry for the trouble we had caused to your beloved town," Rai added.

But then, the farmer understood that with sympathy and said, "It's okay. I'll tell the entire town about it. Just apologize to them, okay?"

Kelly and her twin dragon daughters then nodded.

The May party were happy to see that.

And so, all of them resumed walking back to Kapeton. There they all went to the town hall so the dragon family would come forward and apologize to the mayor for the trouble they had caused to his town. They did so, and the mayor was shocked. But the farmer and the May party explained to him what the reason behind the Silver Dragon's attacks on his town was and how that involved Rai and Ria. In the end, the mayor understood that and accepted the dragon's family's apology, before deciding to gather the townspeople in the town square and declaring to them about it. Russell and his group then accepted it without hesitation.

So, shortly thereafter, at the town square, the mayor did so, and the dragon family from the forest apologized to the townspeople for the trouble they had caused to their beloved town. The May party and the farmer were beside the dragon family. The townspeople were shocked and astonished that Kelly, the Silver Dragon, would go there and apologize for her actions towards them. But then, the townspeople accepted their apology and forgave them, before some of them expressed how they were relieved that their hardships would come to an end. And so, the dragon family were reconciled back with the humans in the town, and even so, Micah allowed Rai and Ria to continue working in his coffee processing plant, much to their joy.

Since the May party was credited with their effort of stopping the Silver Dragon from attacking their town, most of the townspeople offered them money and some locally made goods as rewards. The May party were overwhelmed by the amount of their rewards. They already had a lot of money in their disposal, and now, more was about to be added. Russell, on his party's behalf, tried to lower their rewards for him and his party, but the mayor insisted them to just accept them. And so, not wanting the entire town to be disappointed, the May party just accepted it. The dragon family was stunned and wondered if that party would be become rich as a result. At this point, Russell got more money from rewards for his heroism than from his income as a bus driver. After that, the gathering was finished, and the mayor, the farmer, and the rest of the townspeople. But, the royal spies from the capital saw them, as well as Russell, and they are now suspecting that Russell was the one who killed the bandits back in Snowyfield Village.
