Chapter 1 - The Ruins

  Chapter 1: Awakening.

P1 The Ruins

Let me ask you a question. Who is the ruler of Vampires?

Take your time to think...

I'm sure many thought of Dracula, perhaps some thought of the name Vlad.

What if I were to tell you that there is someone far older and more powerful.

Humans, Vampires and Werewolves have been at war fighting over world dominance for thousands of years, the war was dubbed "The Tragic War"

According to the oldest of legends, there was a Vampire King so powerful and merciless that merely speaking his name struck fear into his enemies.

Even Celestials, the most powerful beings, were struck down by this King.

One day this Vampire King vanished and the Tragic War ended, the three races split the world into three nations.

No one knew for sure what happened to this King, that is if he even existed, which everyone says is nothing but folklore.....

Inside an unknown place.

*Huff *huff *huff I was exhausted…my attacks had no effect, my magic was useless.

I had been running away for hours.

They still chased me. This place was a maze…where was the exit? Just where was my salvation?

Why did I come here? Just why did I feel the need to prove myself?

I couldn't control my tears. I was too afraid! *sob *sob *sob

"Please, I just want to go home!" I said, unable to hold back my tears of fright.

I could feel the ground vibrating beneath my feet, my pursuers were not far behind.

"What do I do?"I  asked myself in panic, breathing was near impossible.

I can't breathe *huff *huff…No matter how hard I tried to take deep breaths my body didn't get any air.

M-My legs were about to give out. I *Huff could barely walk.

I looked around me to look for any clues on how to get out of here.

Please. Please. Please! Let there be an exit I thought to myself…*Huff *Pant.

I lost count of the many left and right turns I made.

I was truly lost in this maze…I continued to take left and right turns until…

In the distance, I saw something like the end of a dark tunnel, like a bright beam of hope inside endless darkness…It was an enormous door made out of thick irimian steel. That yellow colour metal door could only have been irimian steel.

I mustered all my remaining magic power and diverted it to my eyes.

With the remaining magic power, I stared at the door from a great distance to confirm that it was irimian steel which thank the Celestials it was…

*Gasp *gasp *gasp

I was panting non-stop…gasping for breath.

"Yes…the door is slightly open. I can hopefully squeeze through."

I made use of the little stamina I had left and rushed to the door.

I was getting closer and closer, with each step the door appeared larger.

*Step…

*Step…

*Step…

*Step…

*Pant *Pant *Pant….

 "I-I am here."

Directly standing in front of this door made me feel like an insect.

It was enormously tall and wide, completely made out of irimian steel.

I wasted no time and squeezed through the open crack.

"J-Just a bit more…" I was almost through.

I pushed my body forward through the door with all my might.

"A-A little more!"

I fell on the ground on the side of the door.

"I-I made it." I was catching my breath. I felt a great deal of relief!

I should have been safe here, irimian steel is the heaviest and strongest metal.

This door weighed as much as a large mountain, no way my pursuers could push it open.

This begged me to ask a curious question. "Why was this door made in the first place?"

I got on my feet and looked around.

The room was almost empty. All I saw was a small staircase with 3 steps leading to a platform with a long rectangular stone grave. On the left and right of this grave were tall candelabras made out of gold.

The candles themselves are long burnt out.

I was making my way toward the staircase.

"BANG!"

"BANG!

"BANG!"

I heard loud bangs at the door.

No! No! No! No!

They were outside the door. I began to quiver uncontrollably.

"Please don't let them open the door." I couldn't stop sobbing *sob *sob *sob…

I needed to calm myself and hide.

"Where can I hide?" This room was empty.

*BANG!

*BANG!

*BANG!

I heard them smashing their fists against the door.

*BANG!

*BANG!

I ran up the staircase.

"I hope this will do."

I sat behind the stone grave and pressed both my hands against my mouth to keep quiet.

I couldn't stop shaking…

I couldn't think straight…

*BANG!

*BANG!

*BANG!

Please make it stop

PLEASE! Go away.

PLEASE! Go away.

That's all I thought about repeatedly.

Thank the stars the door didn't budge, I thought at that moment.

The banging sounds stopped.

It became quiet, dead silent actually.

I placed my right hand on top of the stone grave with haste.

"Ouch." I tried not to scream, barely managed to whisper.

I cut my hand on little sharp rocks.

Drops of blood landed on the grave and the floor.

I cast Rimiel (healing magic).

The wound partly healed. The blood stopped due to my lack of magic power, the deep wound couldn't be healed fully.

I felt the ground shaking like a small earthquake beneath my feet. Far more intense than the other pursuers have caused…

*THUD

*THUD

*THUD

I heard footsteps louder than before approaching the door from the other side…

What exactly was out there?

This meant whatever was on the other side of the door was far more dangerous than the monsters who had been chasing me…

*BAAAANNNNGGG!

*BAAAANNNNGGG!

*BAAAANNNNGGG!

Whatever punched against the door created a far greater punching force.

I hurried to sit back down behind the grave.

I pressed both my hands with all my strength against my mouth to hold in the sound of cries, my tears were like waterfalls…I couldn't stop shaking…

*Creak

No no no…I could hear the metal door scraping against the concrete floor. How was this possible? The door was the weight of a mountain…it couldn't be! *Sob *Sob *Sob

*BAAAANNNNGGG!

*Creak

*BAAAANNNNGGG!

*Creak.

*BAAAANNNNGGG!

*Creak

Each punch opened the door wider and wider.

I prepared myself for the fact that I would die here today.

Minutes passed and the door was open wide enough and my pursuers were inside the room.

My eyes were closed, filled with tears and I continued to take deep breaths.

I heard loud steps moving toward the grave…moving toward me…

I looked above me to see a horrific image.

My eyes opened wide in shock, unable to utter a sound…I was facing a golem.

I had no idea that golems were inside these underground ruins when I entered. It was too late for regrets now.

The Golem grabbed my right leg and held me upside down.

"AHHHH!" The grip was too painful!

It crushed my leg. I felt pain like I had never felt before to the point I begged for death.

My head was an estimated 40 feet (12.2m) above the ground.

The Golem walked toward three other Golems, two normal ones like the one who was holding on to me and one who was far larger at an estimated 75 feet (22.9m) in height.

A regular golem is 50 feet (15.2m) in height.

I could see now what punched open the enormous irimian steel door.

The Golem threw me against the wall.

"AHHHH!" I vomited blood landing hard on the ground.

I couldn't feel my legs. I was near death…I struggled to raise my head.

The larger golem walked toward me, the ground vibrating with each step it took.

The larger golem lifted its fist to crush me.

I lowered my head and closed my eyes…

My tears dropped without stopping.

"Mother…Father… *sob *sob…I'm sorry that I wasn't a good enough daughter, I'm sorry for —*sob *sob letting you down…I wanted to make you proud but failed. My little brother Lenny, I'm sorry to break my promise to you… *sob *sob

Please forgive me…" Knowing that no one could hear my last words made me feel insignificant.

I was ready to die. I hoped it would be painless.

The Golem has smashed its enormous fist toward me…

A second…

Two seconds…

Three seconds…

Time passed? I was still alive…?

I lifted my head off the ground with great struggle.

I saw a mysterious person in front of me blocking the large Golem's fist with his finger.

The person wore a black robe, tall stature and had white hair. Looked my age (17 years old).

How was he able to block the Golem's fist with his finger? I was puzzled.

(From the mysterious person's perspective)

"Stand down Golem!" I was just released from my seal, almost all of my strength was gone. It would take time for it to recover.

What is this?

The Golem refused to lift its fist. Hmm, that's interesting no one has ever defied me.

I turned my head slightly facing the girl who was on the ground in a puddle of her blood.

She had long violet hair with areas of her hair dyed in blood and concealing her head, I needed to ensure her safety.

I flicked my finger, sending the Golem flying with incredible speed at the wall behind it which caused the wall to crumble.

I cast Rimiel (healing magic) for the girl.

...

"What is this warm feeling? All of my pain was gone and my leg that was crushed was healed.

A green aura engulfed my body. It's healing magic but I never saw healing magic being this effective.

With my injuries, it would have taken a minimum of 2 days with continuous healing magic for me to recover.

Here I was seconds later fully recovered.

"What's your name?" She slowly got on her feet. I asked for her name to ensure she was alright.

"I am Leyla Gilfelia."

"Leyla, I just healed you, please stay behind me while I deal with these Golems."

"I-I understand."

I turned my head toward the Golems, the large Golem was back up on its feet.

"If you don't stand down you will be destroyed!" I warned them firmly and I meant every word of it.

"ROOOOOOOOAAAAAA!!!!"

The Golems charged at me all at once.

"So be it." I focused magic on my eyes, I fired orange beams of disintegration from my eyes at the Golem, erasing them from existence instantly.

I looked at the girl who was standing behind me, now that she was fully healed I could make out all the characteristics she had: Violet hair, violet eyes and pale skin

"U-Uhm, thank you for saving my life," Leyla said, filled with sincere gratitude.

"That magic you just used to defeat the Golems was nothing I have ever seen. How is it possible to use offensive magic from your eyes?"

It was a technique I created during the War, the beams of disintegration can turn anything I want into nothing if required.

"I just happened to make it up."

(Leyla) he did look around my age and yet was much more powerful than I was.

Looking at him from the front, what struck me immediately were his orange eyes, eyes that looked like deep orange flames straight from hell.

"What's your name?"

I saw that Leyla was anxious to know my name.

"I am Cassius Xeonus ."

"That's your name?" Leyla asked in confusion mixed with shock.

"Do you know who I am?" I asked. My name was well known throughout the world.

Something was off with Leyla she began to…
