Rory
Despite how much I struggled and tried to get out of the guards' grip, I was no match for their brute strength.
"Prince Alex already predicted you might try to do something stupid, so he ordered us to stand by and keep watch. Who knew you were this predictable?" One of the guards drawled out and they all snickered in amusement as they led me straight into the palace.
I couldn't believe what had just been revealed to me, and how I had easily fallen right into their hands, making their job super easy.
As I was being led up the stairs, I let my eyes fall shut as I silently cursed myself over and over again, while silently asking myself why I was just this unfortunate.
The guard handled me roughly, so unlike how they used to regard me with respect whenever I was beside prince Alex.
On getting into a room which I know was Alex's office, I sucked in a deep breath that greeted us.
My sister, Anna, was straddling Alex. She had her arms around his waist and he was nuzzling her throat and cupping her ass. They didn't jolt away on notching my presence this time like they had done yesterday.
Instead, Alex had just shook his head while breathing out a laugh, a sound which I fell in love with, but now, the sling grated on my nerves.
"He really is predictable as hell." Alex said to Anna who snickered as she slid off his laps and got to her feet along with Alex.
"Good job, boys. You've all done well." Alex said to the guards before sending the guards away, and once they bowed respectfully, they all stepped out and closed the door after them, leaving me with the two people who I once trusted with my life, these same two people who had stabbed me in the chest.
"You know… I never imagined for a moment that you could ever think of running away. I didn't even know you had it in you. But your sister Anna, she clearly knows you more and she told me she was certain you'd try to escape and she had been a hundred percent right." Alex began to speak, tugging Anna against him as he leveled me with an unimpressed look.
As I let me eyes drift towards Anna, a bitter taste settled in my mouth as I shook my head. "When I didn't think you could go any lower, you went ahead to prove to me that there's still some height of lows which you can reach if you want to." I hurled at her but she only rolled her eyes and leveled me with a scowl.
"Oh, don't be like this, Rys. You brought this upon yourself. I tried apologizing to you, didn't I? I did! But what did you do? You threw it right in my face!" She accused and I let out a loud scoff as I blinked at her.
"I did that because it was clear back then that you didn't mean it! And look at what you did, it just showed that you really didn't mean the apology, thid just proves it even more! How could you do this? I don't want to step between the both of you, I decide to run away and you had to still ruin my life once again by telling Alex about the hunch you had?"
As I spoke, she kept staring at me before finally rolling her eyes and folding her arms. "Look, I'm sorry, okay? But you can't run away, we need you to get married to him, then—"
"Then you'd both get rid of me once you have no more use for me! And you're comfortable with that, Anna? You're comfortable with that happening to your only brother?" I demanded, pain wracking through every inch of my insides.
"Look, some things just have to be done, okay? That's destiny, we can't change it. Obviously, I'd never forget you and will always remember you no matter what…"
I shook my head and let out a bitter laugh. "You're really sick, Anna. You're a snake, a poisonous one and I regret the day we became siblings."
This time, she scoffed, lips twitching. She attempted to say something but Alex clapped his hands and stepped forward.
"Alright, enough is enough. That was entertaining but that's enough. Enough arguing already since we all know it's not gonna change anything. Stop wasting your strength arguing unnecessarily, honey. The wedding is happening and that's that." Alex said and Anna laughed softly before floating into his arms and stealing a kiss from him.
"You're so sick, the both of you." I hurled at them as I wrapped my arms around my middle. Watching them right now was sending bile up my throat. Once Alex broke the kiss, he gave me an unimpressed look once again.
"Whatever, Rory. You'd still be getting married to me anyway." He drawled out and I shook my head vehemently.
"I won't!"
He waved a hand at me. "You're literally currently being held hostage at my home and yet, you still believe you have a choice in this situation? Just how dense are you? Hm?"
Even though tears was prickling at the corner of my eyes, I still squared my shoulders and jutted my chin out. "I still won't get married to a monster like you. I'm gonna throw a tantrum on the wedding, everyone will see how the thought of getting married to you scares me. My tantrums will put a halt to this wedding even if you force me to dress up and walk down the aisle."
Before I was done speaking, Alex was in my front, hand gripping my throat hard. At once, panic shrugged through my veins as the air eased out of my lungs and I gripped his wrist, trying to tug his hand away.
"You'll do no such thing, Rory, because I'll snap this neck of yours if you dare do something as stupid as that? Do you understand what I'm saying right now?" He questioned, eyes dark and angry, lips thinned and jaw clenched.
I tried not to respond, tried to remain defiant, but my lungs felt like it was on fire and my eye sight was starting to get blurry, forcing me to agree to his order.
Moments later, I was being flung to the side and as my body collided with the hard surface of the ground, I found it hard to hold back my tears any longer and I sobbed into my arms, while listening to Alex and Anna kiss each other in the background.
