Rory
When I blinked my eyes open, a sharp pain shot through my head, along with the onslaught of the sun pouring through an open window, causing me to whine as I squeezed my eyes tightly.
"You're finally awake." A voice echoed out from across the room, causing my eyes to fly open in the next moment, and as soon as my eyes locked with the owner of the voice, I sat up in the next moment, clutching the sheets around my body as his scent hit me right in the face, making me shudder a little because I could remember getting that scent clearly along with that voice before I had passed out.
My eyes wandered around a little and I noticed that we were currently in a large room, and I was in a large bed. It was clear that the man had taken me along with him after I had passed out, but to where?
"Uh…" I began to speak but after the man waved his hand, I swallowed the words at once. As I stared at him closely, taking in the tank top he currently have on which hugged his muscles and chest, I swallowed emptily and I bit on my bottom lip while silently wondering who this man was, and if I wasn't currently in another danger.
"You're not a woman." The man spoke, causing me to stiffen, and that was when I remembered the female's outfit the maid who had helped me escape from the palace had given me. My mouth opened and close with nothing coming forth. I glanced down at myself and a gasp flew past my mouth as soon as I realized that the outfit I had on was nowhere to be found.
My cheeks burned as I peeked underneath the sheets to check if I was fully naked and a relieved sigh bubbles past on realizing that I wasn't. When I glanced up at the stranger, he had a dark look on his face, causing fear to envelop me.
"Who the hell are you?" He demanded and my mouth opened and closed once again. I clutched on the sheets tightly while silently cursing myself out.
"I- I…"
"Are you a thief? What did you steal?" He continued and I flinched in horror, eyes widening frantically.
"What? I'm not! I'm not a thief, I didn't steal anything." I responded urgently while shaking my head. The stranger didn't seem like he believed me one bit.
"Why were the palace guards chasing you? Hm? Cause they almost caught you. I considered leaving you behind but ended up deciding against it." He explained and I swallowed emptily, heart pounding at the realization that if he had chosen to leave me after I had passed out, I'd currently be with Alex right now, probably being forced to walk down the aisle.
That pulled out a gasp from my lungs almost immediately and I slapped my hands over my mouth.
"It's my wedding day." I muttered while my heart raced fast. Somehow, I had completely forgotten about that very important detail until right now. Which means Alex is undoubtedly searching for me vigorously right now, and that realization made fear clench at my heart.
"It's your wedding day?" The stranger echoed incredulously after me, a flat look on his face and I nodded my head.
"So why are you not at your wedding right now?" He asked and I shifted a little in the large bed, slowly clearing my throat.
"Because I ran away… I didn't want to get married any longer." I admitted after a few seconds.
"Who is your fiance?"
"Alpha Alex." I admitted and this time, he let out a snort before getting to his feet.
"Get up and get dressed, I'm taking you back to the palace. You're probably a thief or something and I want nothing to do with it, bringing you along with me was a very grave mistake." He picked up his phone as he spoke, probably to put a call through the palace and panic flared through my insides at once.
"I'm being honest, I swear. Please don't take me back, my life is gonna be in danger if I get married to him, he's gonna kill me." I pleaded urgently, hands clasped before me. He held the phone away from his ear while studying me intently and I silently hoped my sincerity could be portrayed on my face right now.
"Well, If I'm being honest with you right now, that's none of my business, so why the hell am I supposed to care if your life is in danger? That's your problem to worry about." He responded with an eyeroll and fear lodged itself in my throat as I watched him dial a number, brows furrowed.
Moments later, tears slid down my face and I clutched my chest while accepting the fact that my entire life has finally been doomed.
With a pounding heart, I waited to listen to the stranger speak to whoever is at the other side of the phone, to mention that he currently has a runaway omega in his grasp. However, when he finally spoke, he asked if alpha Alex's wedding had commenced.
After a little while, he dropped the call and glanced towards me.
"Seems like you weren't lying, Alex's wedding has been canceled because his omega bride is nowhere to be found." He spoke and I felt relief flood through me at the realization that he finally believed me.
"Why were you running from the palace guards though? If you didn't steal anything." He continued and I sighed slowly.
"I didn't want to get married anymore after catching my fiancé in bed with my sister. But Alex didn't want the wedding to be canceled and ended up holding me hostage the first time I attempted to run away but got caught."
"Your sister? Damn, your life is really something." The alpha snorted and I couldn't agree more.
Moments later, he pushed away from the wall and walked forward till he was standing beside the bed. "Anyways, your story is quite touching, but I cannot help you, sadly. I have other important things to do, so you can leave after having breakfast… or lunch, rather. I wish you success in the rest of your life–"
I cut him off and reached out to grab his wrist without thinking. "You can't send me away, please, please. If you do, I'd get caught; and if I get caught, I'd be forced to marry Alex." I pleaded frantically and this time, the alpha narrowed his eyes at me.
"So you're saying I should keep you with me forever? Why the hell would I wanna do that?"
I shook my hand, hands still wrapped around his wrist. "No, just for t- today. I'll find my way tomorrow, I promise."
He finally loosened his hand from my grip, walking back across the room to sink back into the seat.
"Don't you have friends who can help you?" He asked and I shook my head dejectedly.
"My only friend tried to kill me." I admitted and he tsked as he massaged his forehead.
"Damn, you really do have it tough, but why should I help you anyway? I don't even know you and you don't know my either, one would except a pretty boy like you to be a little smarter than this."
I pushed my hair out of my face. "But you rescued me from the palace guards and you're yet to call them on me… so, I believe I can trust you." I ended the sentence in a whisper, unable to hold his gaze any longer.
This time, he let out a laugh.
"Oh, silly boy. I'm the last person you should trust."
I swallowed emptily and remained silent, not knowing what to say to that. After a few seconds, he continued.
"Anyways, what am I gonna get in return to keep you here with me until tomorrow? What am I getting out of this?"
I raked my brains for what I could use as payment but I had nothing, no money, no valuable item, absolutely nothing.
I cleared my throat and exhaled slowly.
"I- I could give you my virginity as payment?"
