As I open my eyes, I find myself in a room. The odd surrounding makes me check it out, which is totally different from my world.
The room seems familiar but strange. It has big, strong walls made of stone.
Inside, there is a big fireplace with fire that gives warm light.
A big wooden table sits in the middle, holding plates and cups for a feast.
There are sturdy chairs to sit on. Candles in holders make the room bright. Velvet curtains covers the windows.
The paintings hanging on the wall are showing the strong connection between it's present and past.
Suddenly a strong blow of air covers me from every corner urging my sense of nostalgia.
With a jump, I get down from the bed, regaining horrific memories, and pinch my arm.
"Oh my goodness! I am alive!"
"Yes, you're alive, but to die!" The beast's voice echoes in my ears, indicating that my terror isn't over yet.
Impatient and losing myself gradually, I turn to him. The tall man stands in front of me with his piercing gaze penetrating my soul.
"Excuse me, why this drama though?" I ask.
How long can someone endure this eerie situation? He grits his teeth in anger and grabs my arms.
Confused, I glance at him. Before I can speak further, he starts to drag me out of the room. While ascending the stairs and hallway, the spiteful stare from the citizens makes me feel like a devil.
"Stop! Where are you taking me?" I ask, but he doesn't say anything in return.
In a moment, the whole area fills with howls, groans, and chatter. He drags me into a small room, more like a dungeon although it's not, and throws me on the rough cold floor.
The atmosphere gets heavy with tension as old bloodstains stain the rough walls. Distant howls of wolves send shivers down my spine.
In a few moments, another big furry beast enters the room.
His eyes seem to produce fire, ready to burn me till death. My breath gets stuck in my throat as he steps towards me. In a blink of an eye, he disappears.
I sigh in relief but realize he's still behind me when I feel his breath on my neck. I know this is the end, but why are they filling me with fear before killing me?
My heart skips a beat as the humanoid werewolf turns me around and pulls me near him but a girl like me can't afford that much courage to have a look at him. It walks near me again.
The process of my ruin is so painful. I finally gather my courage to look at it. Why is there so much anger in his eyes? What did I do so wrong?
In the meantime, the fur of his body grabs my attention. They are disappearing, and the beast turns into a human.
His clothing-less figure makes me embarrassed to peek at him now. I lower my head. He makes me look at him using his index finger.
"No way! Death can't be this handsome!" The more eerie it was for me to glance at him a while ago, the more charismatic he appears now.
The sight in front of me is giving me heavenly peace. How can a beast be so amazing!
His symmetrical, well-defined face is something I may never forget. The almond-shaped blue eyes and well-groomed eyebrows are captivating.
The small scar on his cheek deserves a soft touch from me. The mole underneath his lower lip—I want to adore it.
Damn it! I should hate him. What am I thinking now?
He doesn't say anything just keeps glancing at me constantly with his dark brown eyes where I can see my reflection clearly.
Listening his order, a she wolf enters the room and exchange a glance with each other.
"Try to find out the truth," he says and leaves the room immediately.
She walks near me in her humanoid from. Without wasting anymore seconds, the beasty human grabs me by my jaw and starts to pull me upwards.
"You should accept your sin." I kick the air, hoping my feet will touch the ground. "What are y'all up to?" Her tight grip makes me unable to speak.
"I don't know anything."
"You have to tell the truth, lady."
"Please leave me, I'm running out of breath."
She slaps me hard in return of my request urging groans escape my mouth due to the intense pain.
"Girl! What are you? How can you slap a girl? And your hands are not hands but steel."
With a bolting sound, another slap falls on me. I feel something in liquid form dripping from the corner of my lips.
As I touch it with my trembling hands, the thickness of my blood gives me another shock.
Her sudden grab over my jaw makes me come to my senses and it needs a moment to back myself up.
"If you dare to touch me again, I won't let you, girl!" As I warn her, she says nothing just spares a little chuckle.
"Oh, really?"
"Ow ow ow! Please stop!" Seeing her monsterious stride toward me, I try to stop her because I really don't want to get beaten by this monster again.
"W-why do you want to kill me and why are you giving me so much pain? I am just a normal h-human!"
All I hear is his windshield laughter from the direction of the door. The cruel Alpha is here again. After laughing to his heart's content, he focuses his stare on me.
"A mere human dared to kill my happiness!" His hoarse voice makes me confused.
"You seem confused!"
"Indeed, I am," I say, and my voice angers him so much that his moon-like face gets covered with a red hue in no time.
"Why did you kill her?"
"Seriously!" I frown listening to him.
"I thought you guys hunted me to fill your belly, now what are you saying?"
"Don't you dare!" He roars making me flinch. Why are they acting so weird? What actually they want from me?
My mental situation is getting imbalanced gradually. However this mess can't drown me so easily. After catching myself up, I look at him.
"C'mon, I don't get it." He glares at me with intense rage, and I feel the heat of his anger as my cheek begins to sting when he grabs my face forcefully.
"You are crossing the limit!" I shout. He spares a mocking chuckle.
"You're shouting at me!"
"Listen, I am really not getting it."
"How did you dare to kill my Charlotte?"
"Huh! Are you okay?"
"Why? Why? Why?" He starts to scream all of a sudden, and his suffering starts to ache my heart, but what is he saying?
"Listen, y-you must be mistaken."
"Mistaken! I wish I could be mistaken!"
"You are really confusing me."
"Shut up! Just shut up! Tell me why did you kill her? My Charlotte! How will I survive without her?"
His eyes become red, tears dripping down from his eyes. This is the first time I am seeing someone crying this way.
I gulp when he glares at me with extreme fury. This is like a nightmare. How can he imagine that I can kill someone?
"Erik, come here." As he commands, the wolf who was chasing me last time enters the room.
"Yes, Alpha Nathaniel." He shows respect by lowering his head.
"You know my heart is burning, so I want her to feel the same pain. She is going to get burned in the fire till death, and her punishment is going to happen in front of my palace so all the citizens can see it! That's how my heart and my lost Charlotte will get peace."
My heart sinks hearing his order. "Sure, Alpha." Erik leaves while sparing me a mocking smirk.
"H-how can you do this to me! C'mon, I know nothing."
"What a pathetic liar." At this moment, some women enter while dragging me out of the room.
"Let go of me! Why are you doing this to me? I know nothing! How can I kill someone? Please believe me; I didn't kill anyone." I keep screaming, but nobody listens to me.
The women give me a bath and cover my neck to feet with a white cloth. They comb my hair and let it open while placing flowers on it.
The process of his cruelty begins as they tie me to a long, hard metal and place the bottom of the metal thing in a furnace.
Alpha Nathaniel comes to witness my death. He takes his seat in front of his palace along with his pack's members.
All the residents of the pack have arrived to be the witness of my death. Executors arrive with flares in hand. Howls and chaos make the environment festive for the whole pack.
I never thought my death and sufferings would bring festival to a kingdom.
Being helpless, I glance at the Alpha who is in contentment after seeing me at my worst.
"Don't do it, Nathaniel!" I call him by his name as if I've known him for thousands of years. My voice silences the chaos.
I don't know how I've gathered the courage to speak or call their Alpha by his name in such situation. When he looks at me, tear rolls down my cheek.
"I did nothing."
As I speak, he looks at the executors and says, "What are you waiting for? Burn her!"
I close my eyes in deep frustration. In an attempt to see the world for the last time, I open my eyes, but to my surprise, I only see the man in front of me, Alpha Nathaniel!
As the executors are on the verge of throwing the flames into the furnace, I close my eyes. But before closing my eyes, I've seen the man who is the reason for my death. I'm just seeing his face in front of me though my eyes are closed.
