"What are you saying, Alexandra?" He is surprised listening to me. "We're your family; it's your family," Sharon utters with full affirmation in his voice.
"Please, don't push me into something that's more horrifying than anything else. I want to go home. Please help me."
Tears come to the verge of my eyes. He looks at me; I can see pity in his eyes.
"Okay then, as you insist, I guess I have no way, but thanks for trusting me."
He quickly reassures me, calming my worries right away. But then, after a moment, the idea of losing all my money hits me like a ton of bricks.
Seriously!? Can you believe it? I'm just too greedy. Me, worrying about cash over my own well-being! Thank goodness he's easily convinced.
After the ceremony is over, I eagerly step into the room, I am almost jumping with excitement as I wait for him.
I start daydreaming about embracing my family, picturing the scene vividly in my mind. Oh, what a heartwarming moment that would be!
But as time passes, I'm getting more anxious. What if he doesn't come? If he doesn't come, what will I do then?
"No, think positive, Alexandra." The man seems kind and definitely not a beast like Nathaniel.
At the very moment, several knocks fall on the door, maybe the most satisfying knocks for me, and being excited, I swing the door open expecting to see him standing there.
But what I see in front of me just breaks my heart.
I find Miss Clara and Rosalie standing in front of me. With an awkward smile, I welcome them.
"Rosalie will stay with you tonight," Miss Clara says, "you are very important to the pack so ensuring your safety is the topmost priority."
Sudden shock makes my eyes extended. What will I say to them, it's their place and I'm just a guest. I shake my head hesitantly and Miss Clara leaves the two of us in the room.
"Please sit, Rosalie." I tap the side of the bed but she refuses respectfully.
"I have been ordered to focus on your safety. You know our place is endangered now," Rosalie says. There's fear on her face.
"It's Nathaniel, isn't it?" I ask her curiously. "Well, Matriarch will disclose everything to you."
I take a big breath as I listen to her, then I lay down on the bed.
Nathaniel doesn't matter to me right now; all I can think about is getting out of here fast. She might be talking about him, but to me, she's the one I'm worried about.
I'm trying my best to act calm, but who knows what she's thinking about me? It's starting to feel very strong, and I'm really anxious about what will happen next if I don't get another chance to escape.
How am I supposed to deal with her? I just want to leave this place as soon as possible. What if I miss my opportunity to run away again? It's like everything is spinning around me, and I don't know what to do.
After thinking for several minutes, I come up with another plan that is how about making her fall asleep? I slowly lay down and ask Rosalie to lie next to me, but Rosalie refuses as she must guard me. Still, I force her to lie beside me.
"Rosalie, you are my friend. How can I sleep leaving you awake all night? C'mon, I really can't do this." Clear concern spreads on her face listening to my proposal.
"If Matriarch comes to know, she will fire me from work. I am sorry."
"No, I won't listen to you. If you don't take a nap then I am going to stay awake all night."
"I'm extremely sorry." As she says I look away from her expressing my dissatisfaction.
As few seconds pass, I peek to have a glance of her face. It looks like she is in great dilemma, thinking something.
"Okay, okay, Alexandra." Finally she agrees with me. After coming to my influence, she has to lay beside me but her eyes are opened. Uff, this girl is crazy. C'mon, c'mon, close your eyes.
After spending some time like this, I remember Bella. She can't sleep without listening to my songs. I start humming to myself.
Rosalie turns to me saying how much she is enjoying my singing. The true fact that she is bothering me her not being a child. Still I proceed humming the lullaby what if it helps her to fall asleep.
As I continue to sing, I see my sweet friend is sleeping peacefully.
"Ah, what a relief!" This girl has given me more tough time than Nathaniel himself.
I am waiting for Sharon to come but there's no sign of him. Two hours have passed still he is not coming.
Now I can't bear it anymore; entering the washroom, I start provoking Nathaniel.
Everything happened because of him. If that beast didn't pull me here in this scary world, I don't have to go through this.
Now what about that kind man? Why Sharon isn't coming? This is really a serious issue to be bothered about.
I keep walking being restless but even that hasn't saved me more time, and he isn't coming either.
When I look through the window, my heart finally gets peace seeing him standing at the balcony.
Now it's midnight here. I check if Rosalie is sleeping or not. Finding her in deep sleep, I walks to the balcony cautiously and tells him to take me away.
When I go near him hurriedly, he doesn't turn to me.
"Let's go Sharon, hurry up!" I insist, "someone might see us." He doesn't say anything.
"What happened, Sharon? Can you hear me?"
"Why are you late, Alexandra?" He asks making me shocked.
"Seriously! Do you know how long I have been waiting for you?" I say in great despair.
"It's me waiting here for freaking three hours," he retorts.
"What are you saying?"
"Yes, dear."
Now I get it why he is not turning towards me because I make him angry by being late and waiting for three hours isn't a joke.
"I'm extremely sorry."
"Do you think sorry always fix things?" Now things are going out of hand. If it goes on this way, I will surely get caught and who knows if the devil is watching me or not but if he finds out that I'm trying to flee with Sharon, he will play a dirty game to lower me in front of Matriarch.
"I know I made a mistake, please consider me now. Let's go before someone might see us."
"Beg!" he orders. I can't believe it what he is saying.
"What!"
"Yes, beg me otherwise you're going to be a rotten tomato staying in this deserted island."
Surprisingly his voice is little different from Sharon. Now I am skeptical if it's really him or not but he chuckles suddenly.
"I was just joking, Alexandra. Are you ready to fly?"
"Thank goodness." I sigh in relief listening to him. "Yes, I'm."
He suddenly grabs me and hugs me tightly, making a weird but nice sound.
Quickly, I see something appearing in the sky. Oh my, it's the most amazing thing I've ever seen!
A big dragon flies over and lands close to us. I gulp nervously as it gets closer to me. My heart is racing, and I'm not sure what to do.
But it's so beautiful and exciting! I can't believe this is happening. I hope it won't hurt me. I just stand there, amazed and scared at the same time.
"Meet my pet Kristen." He growls in his low tone and takes his face near me making me afraid. But his cute gesture removes my fear instantly as he touches my face affectionately. I also touch his face.
"You got such majestic pet, Sharon!" He doesn't say anything but chuckle listening to me.
We sit on Kristen causiously then he starts to fly, giving me a big mental shock.
"Oh, yeah!" I utter excitedly. "Thanks to you for this amazing ride."
"You used to get more amazing rides from me but didn't bother to thank me ever."
"Sorry, what do you mean by that?"
"Nothing, focus on the ride." I try to look at him.
"Seriously! You're still wearing that blue mask!"
"Yeah, what's the problem?"
"No problem, your life, your choice."
I spreads my hands to feel this moment, it's really crazy and beyond my imagination.
Whatever it is, while leaving this place, I've gotten an amazing memory to remember.
Suddenly, my heartbeat increases, this is the same feeling, the same déjà vu.
I flew this way many times. Hazy memories start to roam in my mind but can't remember that well. It makes me restless again and again and my heart cries out in terrible pain! What's happening to me?
I turn my head to Sharon and finds him smirking.
"W-what's going on?" I ask him being afraid. He doesn't say anything just removes the mask from his face making my soul dead.
"Y-you!" I utter in great shock.
