Chapter 29 - Towards an expected end

NEPAL | MOUNT EVEREST REGION

The ground was shaking furiously, and rocks and snow rolled down the mountains. This massive earthquake was caused by the huge explosion that happened a day ago, and Sofia's destruction in contribution.

Belle and the others were running as a huge snowstorm was coming fast behind them. It was so big that it covered half the mountains and hills. While they were running, the ground kept opening up, and they had to keep dodging and jumping over the gaps.

Both Belle and Doforny were exhausted and couldn't use their powers. Even Sofia was too weak to move, so John carried her while they all ran. The snowstorm was closing in on them, and they had no idea what to do next.

Hiding behind the mountains wouldn't help; they just kept running.

"We're going to get buried under that snow unless we find higher ground. What do we do?" Belle shouted in fear.

"No, we aren't going to end like this. Not like this," John said with tears and anger as the huge snowstorm was just a few meters away from them.

Just as they were losing hope, they felt a sudden vibration from the ground. Suddenly, a massive ice wall burst out from beneath them. The ice grew tall and wide, blocking the force of the coming snowstorm completely.

After it stopped, they were all surprised to find themselves safe, protected by the ice wall.

The ice was several meters high from the ground. Belle was the center of attention because everyone knew she was the frost controller among them.

"What? It wasn't me! I can't create this much frost ice. Look at it, it's even higher than the mountains and insanely thick and huge. This alone would drain my cosmic energy dry," Belle said.

"Then who was it?" Dorothy asked, still doubting Belle's words.

While they talked, the ice changed into a long slide, and they rolled down to the ground, hitting the snow. They all stood up, seeing a lady in a blue leather suit with long red hair. When they saw her, they knew she was from Galaxia.

"Were you the one who did this?" Belle asked as she walked closer to the lady.

"Yes, you must be…" Deborah started to say, but Belle interrupted her.

"That's amazing! Please, can you teach me? I really want to bend frost like you," Belle said happily.

"You are with Frost Powers?" Deborah asked.

Belle stepped back a little and stretched out her hand, trying to use her powers. But only a small stretch of ice appeared.

"No, it's much more than this. Just hang on, I will show you," Belle said, still trying to form her own massive frost.

"That's enough, Belle," Deborah said, reaching out to stop her.

"Wait, how do you know my name?" Belle asked, surprised.

"I know you, Belle Palmer, John, and Sofia," Deborah said, looking at them and calling their names. Then she stopped, seeing Dorothy, whom she didn't recognize.

"Who is that?" Deborah asked.

"My name is Dorothy, and I am a friend of theirs," Dorothy said, introducing herself.

"Oh!," Deborah exclaimed.

Soon, a spaceship arrived where they stood, descending until it landed on the snow.

"Wow, such a massive ice wall there," one of the pilots said.

"That's Deborah for you," the other pilot replied.

"The explosion wasn't too far from here. How did you guys manage to survive it? And someone else was here too, wasn't it? We suspected someone was fighting against it," Deborah continued.

Who was it?" Deborah asked.

"Oh, about that, it was us. It kidnapped Sofia. We didn't know what it wanted to do with her, but we managed to rescue her. We wanted to kill it because it killed our parents. We were right under the explosion, but Sofia shielded us," Belle explained.

"What do you mean you guys were fighting against The-void… that thing?" Deborah asked in surprise and shock.

"The-void, is that its name? If only it didn't get away, we could have killed it. He is strong, but I saw the fear in his eyes when we fought him. Sofia would have ended him with just one blow, but he got away," Dorothy said calmly.

Deborah stared for a while, unable to believe what they had just told her.

"Children fought the-void and survived, not just survived, but they were talking like they were beating it," Deborah thought to herself.

"You all look drained. This ship here will carry us to Galaxia," Deborah said.

"Galaxia?" Both Belle and John said loudly in surprise.

"We are going to Galaxia? Wow, that's unexpected. We are all going, right?" Belle asked.

"Yes, you are all grandchildren of Sir David. I am sorry about him and your parents. We know they were killed by The-void, Leave that case to us for now. You all are specially welcome to Galaxia. By the way, you will be meeting a lot of people today. Yesterday, the call-out started, and it's ending in three days. You will see a lot of new faces," Deborah explained.

while they were approaching the spacecraft, which extended a translucent energy staircase. John and the others reached for the stairs and climbed in.

"That girl looks so charming, and she has a very faint cosmic energy around her. But she doesn't look like an Izigan; I see no tattoos. Well, I will get to know more about her later," Deborah thought to herself, referring to Dorothy, who stood out with her long, very black hair.

In the bustling city of New York, one of the busiest cities on Earth, somewhere inside an empty building, The-void sat as he tried to stabilize his cosmic energy.

The vessel he was using was glowing red from some small cracks on his skin. Then the color began to slowly change to purple. He gathered a huge purple light, which he then condensed into a small ball in his right hand. With it, he smashed it to the floor. The small ball of light traveled into the ground and began to spread deep beneath.

Suddenly, there was a huge earthquake outside. The ground was shaking, and everyone around was scared and began to run. Some parts of the ground started to tear open.

Then there was a force explosion from where The-void was. Cars and people around that area were pushed by the exploding force.

"Now bring me that Izigan," the void said to himself.

Meanwhile in Galaxia, the red alarm rang again in the sector unit, detecting a huge cosmic energy.

"It's The-void. Send word to the Furious Three now. The void's cosmic energy is all around that area and it's spreading," Kate said.

Stella, who was discussing something with some people, saw the message as her watch beeped. The same happened with Tim and Kenneth.

The three of them left what they were doing, prepared, and went to the craft unit to take the spacecraft straight to Earth.

"You understand the plan, right?" Tim asked both of them.

"We got it. We are taming this thing once and for all. Now that we know his cosmic energy is abnormal, we know what we must do," Stella replied.

While Kenneth nodded in agreement. Soon, they entered the spacecraft, which dropped with enormous speed, heading towards Earth.

"Cole, what do you mean now? He better not be right about this," Kenneth thought to himself.

The previous day, both Cole and Kenneth were at a tea store having some drinks. Kenneth wanted to see Cole since he still admired his rapid development and wanted to ask him about the glass he saw connected to time.

"Don't tell me you want me to tell you about the future," Cole asked.

"Yeah, that's one of the things. Stella and I have actually been talking about how you saved us from The-void back then using your own constructed reality," Kenneth replied.

"Somehow we made it out even when we thought we were trapped inside your constructed reality. That was genius, by the way. Who knows, you may be getting close to Universal ranking level," Kenneth said.

"No, I like it planetary. Well, so we really have to babysit all these izigan kids?" Cole said.

"Cole, you know why I am here. Stella doesn't care about it, but I do," Kenneth said.

"Kenneth, they are possibilities relative to this plane. I don't know about telling you, but there is something you need to know," Cole said.

"You said that before, just possibilities. Tell me what I need to know," Kenneth asked.

"I am no fortune teller, but of all the possibilities, one always came to me. Tomorrow you are going for a mission right?" Cole asked.

"Yes, wait, no, I am not," Kenneth said.

"Well, you will go on a mission tomorrow and other Furious Three members. It will be a tough mission. One of you will not return," Cole said.

His words sent a shock through Kenneth's spine as he looked at Cole with an aghast expression.

"Is this a possibility, or are you certain about it?" Kenneth asked.

"I can't say. It could be a possibility, meaning it's fifty percent likely to happen or not. I am only playing by the rule of not ignoring contradictory evidence. Like, I know now that you are about to sneeze and that the cup handler is about to drop that cup. It could lead to a higher likelihood of the expected outcome," Cole explained.

Soon, Kenneth sneezed, and the cup fell.

The handler not too far from them dropped the cup he held, which broke on the floor.

"Possible evidence. It's now a sixty percent possibility of happening and forty percent not happening. Now a clear warning: due to the fact you know and are going to be close to the certain event, if you allow it to weigh you down, feeling it might be you, only then would it happen to you. While the other is you knowing it, so you could prevent it from happening. Remember these words if you really want to stop this from happening. This would heighten the chance of it not happening," Cole explained.

Present Day

"I hope I haven't done anything wrong. Everything should go as planned. This is all on me, Cole," Kenneth said to himself while still in the spacecraft with Stella and Tim, descending to Earth, piloted by an AI.
