While Elena comforted Fiona, Phil placed a hand on Liam's arm, his voice steady despite the anger in his eyes. "We'll get through this," he said softly. "But first, Detective," he turned to the officer, "have you confirmed anything about what happened eighteen years ago? Is it in anyway connected to Harriet too?"
The detective shook his head. "No. The man we've arrested isn't opening up about that. He's refusing to talk no matter what we say or do," the detective said with a sigh.
Liam narrowed his eyes, his thoughts racing. His mother had hired a man to kill Fiona and there was no doubt about that mow.
But if she was capable of doing this now, then it wasn't far-fetched to believe she might be connected to what happened all those years ago seeing as it was the same person that had been sent to kill Fiona.
