Later that evening, the sun cast a golden hue over the sleepy suburban streets of Zeden as Liam pulled up to Fiona's house.
He watched her as she gathered her things, her movements slow and deliberate, as if she were savoring the last few moments of their time together that night and he couldn't help but smile.
The feeling of being loved just as much as he loved felt refreshing and he loved it. Before she could open the car door, he held her back.
"I'll miss you, babe," he said with a warm smile, and Fiona returned his smile.
"I hope tomorrow won't be as hectic as today. It was definitely draining. I didn't even have the time to think of our relationship," she said with a teasing smile and Liam scowled.
"That wasn't funny," he said and Fiona smiled.
"I'll miss you too, Liam," she said softly and Liam leaned in, capturing her lips for a kiss.
