"Your mom called me," Cora started, her voice casual as she took her seat, causing Liam to raise a brow.
Her presence already explained that, so why was she telling him? He mused, his mind racing with various thoughts.
"She said we're going on a date on Friday," Cora continued, her eyes fixed on Liam's, her expression straight, not giving away what she was feeling.
Liam sighed, his frustration evident. "Isn't that what you've always wanted, Cora?" he asked, his tone gentle but firm.
"What?" Cora asked trying to play pretend but Liam continued.
"You know me, Cora, and you should know my feelings towards you are anything but romantic. You should talk my mom out of this nonsense or better still, slip away from her hold since she won't listen to me," he said and paused, his eyes locked on Cora's, his expression sincere.
