Chapter 1 - Yi Zhao

The strong do what they can, and the weak suffer what they must.

I never expected these words by Thucydides to become my life.

I, Yi Zhao reincarnated into the immortal and found myself thrown into its brutal world headfirst. I was just a normal professional gamer on earth, someone who loved hacking games and breaking them repeatedly.

One day, I was hacking one of the latest FPS games when a lightning bolt suddenly struck me. In my final moments, I couldn't help but wonder 'Did I hack on the wrong server and Aimbot god?'

Alas, it was too late and darkness took over my eyes. I had many regrets as a virgin with dreams of becoming rich, but thinking of death as a comfortable rest, I let them go.

I never expected however to awaken in a different world as a different person.

..

.

I found myself trapped in a dimly lit room, still confused, I looked around for a way out. When suddenly, the door creaked open, and in walked a strange guy, decked out in purple robes like he was a period piece actor or some sort of mystical royalty monk. His clothes resembled those in cultivation comics but instead of a warm greeting or a friendly handshake, he had murder in his eyes.

"I'm sorry, do you know where I am?" I asked with a smile. I was alarmed by his appearance but acted confused and lost.

"Did you hit your head, Yi Zhao? No matter, you won't need it where you're going!" He responded as he unsheathed his sword.

"You know my name?!" I asked.

"You're acting crazy, huh? That won't save you!" He replied as a strange energy materialized and covered his sword.

"Magic?!" I shouted.

His expression was like something out of a nightmare, with a small scar slashing across his cheek, adding an extra dose of menace to his already intimidating presence. And his hair? Well, let's just say it was a shade of dark blue that you wouldn't find in any natural palette—it practically glowed in the dim light like he had a personal spotlight following him around.

He was neither handsome nor ugly but his sinister aura made his appearance worse.

As he advanced towards me, every instinct in my body screamed danger. I didn't know much about where I was, but I didn't need to be a genius to figure out that this guy wasn't here to make friends. No, he was here for one reason and one reason only: to take me out.

"Wait! We can talk about this!" I pleaded.

"Talk your head! It's time for you to die!" He responded.

"Young master!" A loud female voice resounded from outside the room.

He was about to strike me down but when he heard the voice he stopped.

"Shit! She saw me come in previously! You can love for now, Yi Zhao but your day will come soon!" The man said as his body slowly evaporated into nothing.

The door creaked and a petite girl hurried over to me, her steps quick and purposeful. Once close enough she bowed down deeply.

"Huh? Where did your guest go, young master?" she called out, her voice tinged with concern. Her eyes scanned the dimly lit space, searching for any sign of the 'guest's' whereabouts.

Despite her small stature, there was a palpable sense of responsibility in her tone, as if she were accustomed to looking out for my well-being.

"Young master? Me? You've got the wrong person, I think I might be lost, or having a bad dream," I said while shaking my head.

"You're acting strange, young master. Should I prepare a bath for you?" She asked with her head tilted to the side.

"A bath? I do-"

As I stood there, a translucent panel materialized before me, hovering in the air as if defying gravity. It emitted a soft, ethereal glow, casting a gentle light on my surroundings. Lines of intricate symbols and data scrolled across its surface, pulsating with a mesmerizing rhythm.

The servant girl, looking towards me, seemed oblivious to the panel in front of me. Her attention remained fixed on her immediate surroundings, unaware of the supernatural display unfolding in front of me.

[You have successfully reincarnated as the 7th young master of the legendary Zhao Family.]

[Memories will be injected in 1…2..3!]

The words on the panel were clear to me and just as its countdown ended, an explosion of information struck my head.

I fell to the ground.

"The…immortal world..?!" I muttered in shock.

I no longer had any doubt after I received the memories. In an instant, it was as If I had lived an entire lifetime. I was the useless 7th young master of the renowned and legendary [Zhao Family].

Furthermore, I recognized the man who had attempted to kill me as a servant of my 6th brother. It was no longer shocking to me that I was almost murdered, the memories made it clear I was weaker than the normal human man in a world of cultivators and strength. Basically, an ant that fell into an ocean filled with whales would either drown or be devoured/smashed.

The servant girl, Yao-Yao leaned down quickly to help me up.

"Are you feeling ill, young master?!" she asked in shock.

"Ah no, Yao-Yao, I just need to catch my breath," I told her as I helped myself up.

"I'll prepare a bath for you, young master!" She said as she ran off before I could stop her.

Though I was born as a direct descendant of one of the top three families in the [Immortal-World], I was too weak to even live in the estate and was forced out to live in a village.

Even then, my maid Yao-Yao stuck with me, working several jobs to feed a weak and useless young master. She was in essence, my only support in the world, the only person who stayed with me.

I was the genius pro gamer and mma fighter, Yi Zhao stuck in the body of the useless 7th young master of the [Zhao Family], and even I felt a warm care for Yao-Yao.

[The Infinite-Immortal Cultivation system is completely bonded to the host!] the panel said.

Despite its otherworldly appearance, the panel exuded an aura of familiarity, as if it were an extension of my own consciousness. With a subtle gesture of my hand, I could interact with it as if it were physical.

"What exactly can you do?" I was no idiot, I understood that the system was my only lifeline in the immortal world, so I had to use it fully.

[The system's functions can be split into 4 types:

-Information Assistance through the system intelligence.

-Cultivation Assistance through the following: time-folding, technique instant-grasping, adaptation…etc

-Cultivation-Part Absorption: allows the direct absorption of condensed cultivation orbs.

-Miscellaneous Features like Fusion, Lottery, System store, quest function, and plot guidance.]

"This…this is broken!"
