As Naruto activated his powerful Domain Expansion to defeat the last of the Pain paths, Nagato was overwhelmed by a torrent of information. As the one controlling the paths, his mind struggled to process everything, causing him to gasp for breath as a sharp headache threatened to overcome him. Konan noticed his struggle and hurried to his aid, ensuring he was okay.
"Are you okay?" Konan asked, worry etched on her face as she stood by Nagato's enormous mechanical chair.
"I'm... al...right..." Nagato gasped, blood trickling from his mouth, his skin turning a ghostly pale.
"You're..." Konan started to say, but she abruptly sensed someone approaching. Instinctively, she stood up straight, ready to shield Nagato from any threat.
"You've got a lot of shinobi here in this village; I didn't expect that. But don't worry, I've taken care of them," Naruto said confidently as he entered the room. The first thing that caught his eye was Konan standing protectively in front of a massive mechanical chair. Suddenly, it dawned on him. "I remember you..." he said, pointing at Konan. "So that means... that's Nagato!?" His voice was full of astonishment as he recognized the person in the chair.
"I won't let you advance any further, don't even think about it," Konan warned, her voice steady and determined.
"Konan, hold on," Nagato interjected, though his voice was weak and strained. "He's... too strong for any of us to handle alone. Let's hear what he has to say." Despite his struggle to speak, Nagato was more concerned about the situation than his own condition.
Nagato understood that, despite Konan's strength, Naruto was on an entirely different level. It would be foolish for her to face Naruto head-on. Besides, given his current state, Nagato knew he couldn't offer much assistance if a fight broke out.
Instead of resorting to violence, Nagato wanted to try resolving the situation through conversation, or at least initiate a dialogue and see how things unfolded.
"That's wise; even he knows his limits right now," Naruto remarked to Konan. "So, you're the one... you're the Rinnegan wielder, Nagato? You were the one controlling all those I fought earlier?" Naruto asked, his curiosity piqued.
"Yes. What questions do you have?" Nagato asked, his voice still strained.
"It's straightforward if you think about it. Why did you kill Jiraiya-sensei?" Naruto questioned.
"Is that it? You've come here for revenge over his death? So, your decision to confront us directly is driven by vengeance for Jiraiya-sensei?" Nagato replied.
Naruto chuckled at Nagato's question, "I think you're misunderstanding the situation. You're not in a position to question me. I'm the one asking the questions, and you'll provide the answers. It wouldn't take me long to eliminate you if I chose to," Naruto said, maintaining his calm demeanor.
Nagato chuckled, "What if I choose not to tell you anything? Go ahead and kill me if that's your plan. Either way, I'm a goner, so just do it," he responded defiantly.
Naruto let out a sigh and gave a small smile. "So, you'd rather face death than give me the answers I need?" he questioned.
"That's right!" Nagato confirmed, breaking into another fit of coughs as Konan hurried over to him.
"Please, stop talking. You're only making yourself sicker," Konan urged gently.
Naruto grinned, his expression full of understanding. "So, you're saying you won't talk, even if it means facing death?" he asked once more, watching Nagato nod in agreement.
"Well, in that case, I'll just have to..." Naruto began, as mysterious chains began to emerge from his back. They snaked toward Nagato and Konan, moving with a speed that caught them off guard. Before they could react, the chains wrapped around them, and Konan's eyes widened in shock as she found herself ensnared.
"You...!" Nagato yelled in fury as the Sealing Chains fully encircled Konan, pulling her away from his massive mechanical chair.
"I was trying to say... If you refuse to answer, I'll have no choice but to end both of your lives," Naruto stated calmly.
