"Alright, if you're curious, I'll share our story of suffering with you. It's a lengthy tale," Nagato began.
Naruto, leaning casually with a smirk, replied, "Lengthy, huh? Well, I guess I could use a good bedtime story. Go ahead."
Nagato hesitated for a bit , but continued with a smile, "Listen carefully, Naruto. I really want to hear what you think about this!" Nagato continued, "There are two events that caused me my greatest pain. The first was losing my parents when our village, the Hidden Rain, was turned into a warzone by the great nations' conflict."
"My parents and I were trapped in the chaos of the war. While many people had managed to escape, we were among those who remained. We hadn't eaten in days due to the fighting happening outside. One day, we made the tough decision to sneak out of our house in search of food."
"However, we soon realized that two enemy ninjas had come into our home. As we tried to slip away quietly, they discovered us. To protect my mom and me, my father bravely confronted the two intruders. But..." Nagato paused, taking a deep breath to steady himself. "But before I could even process what was happening, they overpowered my father. And just like that, my mother was also taken from me by those two ninjas."
"In time, they understood that we weren't their enemies, but by then it was too late. They had already harmed innocent people, thinking they were foes. My parents lost their lives because of the Shinobi war that the Hidden Leaf Village started. I've never let go of the sharp pain from that moment, and I still feel it deeply today. That pain turned into hatred, but it also awakened my hidden powers. It was only later that I realized it was me who ended the lives of those two Leaf ninja."
"With food becoming so scarce, I had no choice but to leave my home. Soon, even the little food I had ran out. Desperate for something to eat, I went from house to house, hoping someone would have a little to spare. But each time, I returned with nothing"
During a time in my life when I was completely alone and without any food, a kind person offered me something to eat and even a small place to stay.
"And who was it?" Naruto inquired with curiosity.
"It was Konan and Yahiko," Nagato responded. "That's the moment our paths crossed. I was introduced to Konan and a boy named Yahiko. They, too, were orphans because of the war, just like me. Despite their hardships, they were strong and determined to survive. With nowhere else to go, I decided to join them."
Nagato began, "Since we didn't have any food, we were forced to steal from those who did. Sometimes, we'd get caught and beaten up. In that tiny, chaotic nation, there was no system to help war orphans like us. Stealing became our only means of survival. We had no other choice. But even in such tough times, Yahiko never lost hope."
"Yahiko was always the hopeful one. Even though we were all in the same desperate situation, he was the one who kept our spirits up. He had this dream he often talked about—a vision of creating a new world where our suffering would no longer exist."
"Then, one day, when we were on our way back, a sudden battle erupted between two groups from neighboring villages. It was Jiraiya-sensei and his two teammates embroiled in the fight. These three would later be known as the legendary Sannin of the Hidden Leaf."
"Their opponent was Hanzō, the leader of the Hidden Rain. The battle was fierce and chaotic, but somehow we managed to escape with our lives. It was in that moment that Yahiko's dream became my dream as well."
"Yahiko was the first to come up with the idea that we needed power. He wanted to learn Ninjutsu, and for that, we would need a teacher. So, Yahiko decided we should find the Leaf Village ninjas who were fighting Hanzō and learn Ninjutsu from them."
"However, we quickly realized that chasing after the Leaf's Sannin was not an easy task. It was incredibly dangerous. We were just kids, but we had no choice; we had to dive headfirst into the horrors of war."
"No skilled ninja would leave behind any traces, making the Leaf's Sannin hard to locate. But Yahiko refused to lose hope. We pushed ourselves deeper into the battle zone, believing that the more intense the fighting, the better our chances of finding the Leaf's Sannin."
"Fate guided us right to them—the Leaf's Sannin. We finally found him… Jiraiya-sensei."
[A.N : I know I wrote the same story from the canon Naruto, just as it is, and it feels a bit dull. But I had already put it down before, so I figured, why not give it a shot?
If it doesn't work out, we can make the next chapter shorter and focus on the main plot of this fanfiction.
Anyways, Thanks for reading, drop Powerstones that will help a lot and drop reviews if you like the story and add to your library]
