After finishing the meal that had been prepared, Lord Fukasaku looked at me with a serious expression.
"Your training begins now!" he declared, his voice full of authority.
"Alright!" I replied, trying my best to focus on what he was going to teach me.
"Good. The first thing I need to tell you is that what I'm going to teach you isn't Ninjutsu. It's called Sage Jutsu, and there's a significant difference between the two," Lord Fukasaku explained patiently.
"I remember Pervy Sage mentioning something like that, but he didn't go into details," I said, recalling a past conversation.
"In Ninjutsu, you rely on your own internal energy," Lord Fukasaku continued. "But with Sage Jutsu, you harness energy from the world around you."
"Energy from outside? Do you mean nature energy?" I asked.
"Exactly!" Lord Fukasaku confirmed. "As you probably already understand, performing Ninjutsu involves manipulating chakra. This chakra is made by blending your mental energy and physical energy together. But with Sage Jutsu, it takes things a step further. You use the chakra you generate inside yourself and enhance it by adding nature energy from the world around you. This combination creates a much stronger chakra."
He paused to let that sink in before continuing, "This powerful chakra then gives a big boost to your Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, and even Taijutsu. So, you have your mental energy and physical energy from within, and then you add nature energy from outside. The jutsu and other techniques that come from mixing these three energies are known as Sage Jutsu."
"I understand. It sounds really hard to do. Are you sure it will make me that strong?" I asked with doubt in my voice.
He nodded confidently and said, "Since you're curious, let me show you just how strong it can make you." With that, he leaped towards a nearby toad statue and started focusing deeply.
I watched closely as he began pulling in natural energy from around us. With my enhanced vision, I could see that this energy was completely different from the usual chakra that everyone uses and that I've seen before.
"Wow, look at him go! Lord Fukasaku is incredible, gathering all that nature energy," Gamakichi exclaimed with excitement.
"Yeah, I guess it is pretty impressive," I admitted, still a bit skeptical but intrigued by the display.
As I spoke, he finished gathering the natural energy and focused all his strength into his arms. He tried to lift the large toad statue in front of him. After a few attempts, he finally managed to lift it with ease, using the powerful natural energy from the environment.
"Well, Naruto," Lord Fukasaku said with a smile as sweat started to form in his face and body at the weight of the statue, "what you're witnessing is the incredible power of nature energy, enhanced by sage jutsu." He held the statue up with surprising ease and then set it back down in its place, causing the ground to shake slightly as if it were just a toy.
After a while, once the Toad Sage had regained all his strength, he turned to me with a curious expression.
"From what Jiraiya told me, it seems you can already feel the energy, or chakra, just like a sensory ninja, maybe even better than them. Is that true?" he inquired.
"Yes, I just sensed you drawing in the natural energy," I replied.
"That's wonderful news! It means that learning Sage Mode will be much easier for you compared to others, because you're already able to feel the natural energy around you," he explained. "But the first thing you must learn is how to absorb and control the natural energy going in and out of your body. For your training, this means you have to remain perfectly still. We animals can only truly appreciate and learn about natural energy when we stop all our movements and align ourselves with the flow of nature," he added.
"Just sitting still without moving? That doesn't sound too hard! Or is there more to it?" I asked, curious about the training.
"Nothing more, at least for now," he replied. "Since you can already sense natural energy, there's nothing else you need. Come over here!" he instructed, pointing towards a spot nearby.
I walked over to the place he indicated. "What do I do now?" I asked, eager to begin.
"Sit here!" he instructed, as I settled down in front of a waterfall that seemed to be flowing with something that looked like oil. "Now, just sit cross-legged without moving for an hour. It might not happen on your first try, but take your time. Once you can do it, we'll move on to the next challenge."
"So, I just sit and..." I began to ask.
"Sit and relax," he interrupted gently. "Try to understand the natural energy around you, and if you can, feel it surrounding you."
"Should I try to absorb it?" I asked, curious about the process.
"You can try, but remember, if you take in too much or too little, it could cause problems. You need to absorb just the right amount. If you can manage that," he explained.
