It took us about three and a half days to reach the Sand Village, following Temari's lead on the best route.
"We're here!" Temari announced, stopping in her tracks as the massive gate of the Sand Village came into view.
We approached the gate and were met by Sand Shinobi who briefed us on the current situation.
Turns out, Gaara was kidnapped by the Akatsuki. Kankuro tried to go after them, but he ended up fighting one of them and got hurt pretty bad. He's in the hospital now.
Sakura mentioned she could help out since she learned some medical ninjutsu from Granny Tsunade while I was away for a couple of years. At least she's useful for something now.
We followed two of the Sand Shinobi to the hospital where Kankuro was being treated.
Sakura and Temari rushed into the room—Temari because she was worried about her brother, and Sakura because she needed to check on Kankuro. Kakashi-sensei and I hung back at the door, taking it all in.
As we both stood in front of the door of the room, suddenly, an elderly woman fixed her gaze on Kakashi and charged towards him with clear intent to attack. "Prepare yourself—defend or perish," she declared ominously, leaping towards Kakashi.
"Whoa there, granny," I said, stepping between Kakashi and the woman, effortlessly stopping her attack and sending her backwards.
The room went dead silent as the lady staggered a her feet.
"She may look old, but she's got the energy of a teenager," I observed with a curious smirk.
"Geez, granny, if you wanted Kakashi-sensei's autograph, you could have just asked. No need to go all attack on us." I said
"I haven't forgotten what you did, White Fang of the Leaf! The day I've waited for, to avenge my son!" the lady spat out.
"Wait... you're misunderstanding, I'm not..." Kakashi tried to explain but was cut off, "No more words!" the lady insisted, gearing up for another attack, only to be stopped by an old man.
"Hold on and look closely, sis!" the old man urged. "He might look like him, but he's not the White Fang."
"Huh!" the lady gasped, taken aback.
"Hey there!" Kakashi greeted.
"The White Fang of the Leaf has been gone for a while. You were furious back then, realizing you'd lost your chance at revenge, right sis?" the old man recounted.
"Oh, is that so? How silly of me!" the lady laughed off, suddenly embarrassed.
After this whole situation played off, Sakura started doing her job , which is treating Kankuro with her medical Ninjutsu , while now she was inspecting Kankuro's body and found out that he was poisoned somehow,
Meanwhile, Me , Kakashi-sensei and the old man and old lady sat outside the room waiting for Sakura to finish her treatment,
As we sit outside, "Who's this white fang Kakashi-sensei ?" I ask him curiously
"Well to be precise to you , I'm the son of white fang , which means he is my father!" Kakashi replied as the lady again looked back at him , with same furiousness as before.
"You're white fang's son ?" She questioned.
"That makes sense... You look quite like him and anyone can get easily confused by the look and the similarities between both of you!" The old man spoke.
"So why is he called the white fang ? I mean , that can't be his original name , right ?!" I questioned looking towards Kakashi-sensei.
Kakashi paused before answering, "The 'White Fang' was a nickname given to my father, Sakumo Hatake. He was renowned for his skill with a white light chakra blade, which shone like a fang during battle. That's how he got the name."
So, after that whole mess, Sakura decided to take charge. She got rid of the poison in Kankuro's body and started whipping up an antidote.
Once the poison was out, Kankuro woke up and gave us information about what happened in his fight against the Akatsuki member.
The best part? During his fight with the Akatsuki guy, he managed to snag a piece of the guy's clothing. Kakashi-sensei used it to send Pakkun and the other summoning hounds to track down where they took Gaara.
Kakashi-sensei sent the dogs on their mission, but we had to chill in the Sand Village until morning for them to come back with a location. So, we played the waiting game as guests for the night.
In the meantime, Granny Tsunade sent a message saying she'd be sending a backup squad to help us out. Honestly, I thought that was way over the top, but whatever.
The next morning we will continue our mission to rescue Gaara and the Kazekage Rescue Arc would begin...
The Next Morning,
I woke up early... I mean late enough to not know when she left , but early enough I guess...
I got up and quickly freshen myself up and got ready , with a Blue Jacket with a white T-shirt underneath, Black pants and the boots remained the same.
I got out of the room and met with Kakashi-sensei, as Pakkun returned and brought back the location of the Akatsuki Base, and it was in a good amount of distance from here,
So, we decided to start our journey right from the morning, for that Kakashi-sensei, Sakura and Me Stood at the sand village door while waiting for the sand team to arrive,
Temari told us that she would bring her team with us for rescuing Gaara, and obviously we wouldn't object , right !
"You changed your dress didn't you ?" Sakura questioned while we wait for Temari and her team
"I did, obviously, I'm not a cartoon character,that I would wear the same dress 24/7!" I answered
"Okay... Okay , I was just asking." She said.
"Kakashi-sensei, how much time do you think it would take for us to reach the location ?" I asked.
"One to two days... Depends on how quickly we can move and if there will be trap or any sort of diversion from them!" He answered.
"Now I regret not giving Pakkun one of the seals, we could have be there in a second!" I said.
"What seal ?!" Sakura questioned.
"Flying Thunder technique, where I can teleport anywhere I have previously sealed with that technique!" I answered.
"Y-Y-You learned what ?!" Kakashi Sensei questioned
"Flying Thunder technique!" I replied with a smile.
"We're here!" Suddenly a voice cut down Kakashi-sensei from whatever he was about to answer or perhaps question, as we turn around it was Temari, her face turned red as soon as I looked towards her, which is understandable.
"Sorry to keep you waiting," she said, her voice firm but tinged with a hint of urgency.
Sakura immediately called out to her, "Temari!"
Kakashi-sensei, always composed, asked, "Is everyone here?"
Before Temari could respond, Baki arrived on the scene. His presence was commanding as he issued orders, "Temari, you and your group will stay here and patrol the perimeter."
Temari's eyes widened in surprise, "Are you kidding me?"
Baki's expression remained stern as he explained, "It's orders from above. If word gets out that the Kazekage is missing, our enemies might take advantage and attack the village."
after a good time arguing about it , it was decided that Temari and her squad won't join us in this mission,
As the weight of Baki's apology hung in the air, I could feel the tension among us.
"Well, I am going!" We all turned our heads to see The old lady from yesterday standing atop a high place with an air of authority and defiance.
"If a Sand shinobi is needed, then I'm the one to go!" she declared, her voice strong despite her age.
"Granny Chiyo!?" Temari exclaimed, clearly taken aback.
Baki seemed flustered, trying to find the right words. "But... But... you're so..."
She cuts him off with a fierce determination in her eyes, "I may be retired, but that just means I'm free to do whatever I want."
A concerned Sand ninja spoke up, "Yes, but the journey will be difficult."
Chiyo's retort was sharp and full of spirit, "Don't treat me like a fossil." She leaped down from her perch with surprising agility. "After all, it's been a while since I've seen my adorable grandchild." She landed gracefully.
"We should start our journey now, we shouldn't waste any second! " Kakashi-sensei said , and we started walking towards the village gate and walked off as our mission is on...
