Chapter 37 - Chapter 37

The large black wolf ran through the woods. She jumped over logs and rocks it was almost as if she was flying.

Seraiya had been home for 2 days. Her family had only wished for her to relax but not doing anything was driving her insane. As Seraiya slowed her pace a familiar scent filled her nose.

"We meet again niece," Serena said from behind her. Seraiya quickly turned to Serena and let out a low growl. "Your wolf form is as beautiful as your human one," said Serena.

"Here," she said throwing a small pile of clothes at her. "Shift back and put on some clothes," Serena told her "We need to talk" she added. Serena turned and Seraiya shifted back into her human form before putting on the clothes given to her.

"What do you want?" Seraiya asked as she stood at a distance away from Serena. "I don't want to hurt you if that's what you think," said Serena as she turned back to Seraiya. "No if you wanted to do That you would have done it 10 years ago" she replied.

"Ill as again," said Seraiya. "What… do you… want" she said again but slower. Serena only looked at her for a moment. "How much do you know about your witch Lineage?" Serena asked. Seraiya was silent.

"As I thought" Serena added. "Our magic is as old as the first witches themselves," Serena told her. "Your magic is one of the few types that has remained pure" Serena added. "Did you do this to Damien too?" Seraiya asked. "Did you chase him down and tell him this?" She asked.

Serena took in a deep breath. "You may be twins but you two are completely different," she said. "You are the first tribrid the one no one saw coming. The one who existed without reason, The Who who defied the gods themselves" said Serena. "You're the tribrid that the moon goddess saved with her own power, she didn't give you a piece of her heart as she did for Kyra Lewis, she gave you a piece of her soul" Serena explained.

"Damien was the one the other gods wished to exist, the one who was meant to restore the balance. There was only meant to be one of you. There was only meant to be Damien" she added.

"What I want is to help you," Serena told her. "I want to teach you the real magic that runs through our blood I want to help ensure your existence," Serena told her. "For what?" Seraiya asked. What do you get out of any of this?" She asked. "Nothing" Serena answered. "All I want is to ensure my coven, my people remain exactly where they are," she told Seraiya. "And by helping you, my darling niece, I can do that," she told her.

Seraiya didn't trust her but she was intrigued. She didn't know much about her biological aunt but she knew anyone who wanted to protect their people couldn't be all bad. Over the last 3 years, those she saved from the underground auction had stayed with her. They supported her and followed her. They were her people.

As was Aaron's pack and Anya. "And what is it exactly you want to teach me?" Seraiya asked. "Your history" Serena answered. "Come with me the coven isn't too far from here," Serena told her.

Seraiya began to follow Serena. They walked maybe half a mile before reaching a small and lively town. "This whole town consists of only witch's" Serena told her. "For generations, we've stayed here allowing very few to join our coven" she explained. Suddenly a child ran up to serena. "Look what I did Rena," said the child as a holographic little bird sat in her hand.

Serena smiled and knelt down to the girl's level. Serena closed the little girl's hands within her own. "et quod non est verum facti" she said before opening their hands. The once holographic-looking bird became a very real Robin and flew out of their hands into the sky.

The little girl's jaw dropped. "How did you do that!" The little girl said in amazement. "With ancient magic," Serena told her. "Magic that will soon pass onto you as well," she told her. "Now run along tomorrow is a big day for you," Serena told her. And the girl nodded before running away.

"You just created a bird out of thin air," Seraiya said. "As I said our magic goes back to the time of the first witches," Serena said standing up and turning to Seraiya. "Our magic was given to us by the goddess Alvera," Serena told her. "Even to this day on a witch's 7th birthday she blesses that witch with not only her power but the power of the young witch's ancestors" Serena explained.

"I've never heard of Alvera," said Seraiya. "Not many have," Serena told her. "But our coven worships her and because of that over the many generations she has blessed us with stronger magic," Serena told her. "But now her own magic has begun to fade," Serena said to her. "And the only way for her to regain that power is to help you" Serena added.

Suddenly black dust began to fly around Serena, before stopping at her side. A beautiful regal woman with hair that reminded Seraiya of the night sky and pink colored eyes appeared in front of her.

"You must be Seraiya," the Woman said gently holding seraiyas hands. "I've been watching you for some time, I am incredibly pleased with how you've over come what the other deities have done to rid you of this world," said the woman. "Your Alvera?" Seraiya questioned. "Indeed I am," said Alvera

Suddenly the black dust began to surround Alvera. As Seraiya tried to pull out of her grasp Alvera's grip became tighter on Seraiyas hands. "Let me go!" seraiya said as the black dust began to surround both of them. "Soon you will be extremely useful to me," Alvera said as the dust began to go into Seraiya. Her gold eyes flashed pink as she fell to her knees.
