Chapter 16 - 16

Okay I might have gone a little overboard but I couldn't help how happy I was. It's been a couple weeks and now it's time for the sports festival but the fact that Todoroki called All Might Dad in the middle of class our first day back sent the whole class into chaos but thankfully Kacchan put an end to that.

"Who in the fuck are you to decide what Icyhot calls Uncle? Sit your happy asses down and get the fuck over it!" He snapped at them and that got a very similar response to Todoroki calling All Might dad.

We were all excited about the sports festival and Shinso had already found us and we were chatting happily before he excused himself to get ready. I'm pretty sure he just didn't want to use his quirk on us to get to the end but he also couldn't just let us carry him either.

Kacchan and I agreed that we would work together this round but we would go out separate ways afterwards. And why did Kacchan want to work together during this first part? He wants to try flying through the air with a slab of metal like I did the first time around. The memory still makes my heart skip a beat and I would be lying if I said that I wasn't looking forward to it.

So the moment the doors opened Kacchan and I took off and we quickly grabbed a piece of metal that would do the trick, ripping it off the giant robots as we ran by. It was honestly a little too easy, even running across the tight rope bridge.

I could vaguely hear Present Mic on the speaker talking about us for a while before moving on to someone else that caught his interest. Kacchan and I found a place far enough away from each other so we wouldn't interfere with each other and started gathering the land mines and piling them up, roughly 40 of them each and the pile looks bigger than I remember and Kacchan shares an excited grin towards me.

"Three," he started and we both readied the slabs of metal.

"Two," I smiled back and then a little too excitedly we both said; "One!" And jumped onto our bombs and were blasted through the air.

Present Mic's voice was near shrieking level without his quirk as he screamed about us flying through the air. The fact that several students stopped to watch didn't change and it was only after seeing Kacchan and I flying through the air that Todoroki stopped being so careful and made a mad dash for the finish line.

Kacchan had let his slab go, probably forgetting that one blast wouldn't take him all the way to the finish line so he had to use his explosions to land properly and to help propel him forward. I used the rope and slammed the metal slab down on what was probably just a handful of the mines and used the blast to help me get past the few mines left and Todoroki, Kacchan and I were running like mad, our quirks surrounding us. We crashed into each other and looked up, panting to see the results.

There was a long time before the results were posted and we started laughing the moment they were.

Kacchan and I had tied for first place, a video clip showing how we crossed at the same time only followed by Todoroki by less than a sliver after the fact. The fact that Todoroki was laughing just as hard as us was nice while we tried and failed to catch our breath.

"This is so much fun!" I punched into the air while we laughed.

"You three are monsters," Shinso walked up but he was grinning at us before he joined us on the ground. Several were keeping their distance but then again they were still replaying the video on the jumbo screen and seeing Kacchan and I smiling like we were possessed while we were being blasted through the air was a little off putting but still.

It was so much fun!

"They'll get over it, you'll be joining us monster heroes eventually," Kacchan barked a laugh and now Shinso was sitting with us.

"They'll be doing teams next, we should each build our own teams and weed out the least interesting people to fight," I sighed and Kacchan hummed.

"You think so?" Todoroki asked, a little interested.

"Of course, we were told to prepare thoroughly after all. We were told that being prepared was our job, no matter the circumstances," I smiled wickedly while Kacchan laughed out loud.

"And we are prepared," he smirked before adding, "the fuckers won't know what hit them."

Shinso and Todoroki shared a look before smiling and nodding to each other.

"I'm glad you're my brother," Todoroki announced and that surprised Shinso so much that he laughed too. "What, your quirk will make it so interesting to fight you. Oh, but I'll try not to hurt you still."

"No worries, I look forward to when we can fight," Shinso smiled big before getting up and walking away to find his "team". I vaguely see him talking to Ojiro but I don't say anything after all he does need a team.

Come on Kacchan, Todoroki, we need to find our own teams," I stand up and offer them my hand and we walk away from each other to find them.

That was almost too easy. Unlike last time where my team only barely made it, no one was able to steal the 1 million points band from me and just as expected all four of our teams passed into the next round. Present Mic couldn't get over the fact that we hung out for so long after the race but didn't end up doing the chariot event together.

The fact that All Might repeatedly said, "those are my boys!" When he thought no one was looking only to keep getting caught by someone's mic led to several guessing who he was talking about. It was widely believed that I must be All Might's son, after all we have the same last name and it looked like I had a very similar quirk to his but it hasn't been confirmed yet.

Yet. I convinced Dad to wait until after the sports festival to announce it and he keeps swooning like a love struck teenager when I call him Dad but I can't stop anymore. He loves me and my mom and he can't help being proud of me. Even the All Might in my head was in complete agreement. The one that came back from the future with me. Even though he isn't much more than a shadow of the man that trained me he insisted on me calling him Dad as well.

"All Might, are you playing favorites?" Present Mic teased while congratulating us all on our victory and passing to the next round.

"Uh," he turned a bit red on camera and found an excuse to hide. "Dabi! You're finally here!" which made the three of us all look up at the screen and wave.

"Hi big brother!" I called out while we waved at the TV screen. Dabi looked up, probably seeing the movement on the screen that was showing the students to the audience and he smiled back at us and waved.

"I was starting to think you weren't going to come and see your brothers," All Might teased him and he laughed.

"Like I was going to miss that? No, Mom took a while getting ready," he hooked a thumb to point behind himself and Mom was shown on the screen carrying a small bag. In the last several months that she had been with Dad, she had lost a lot of weight and she would practically glow from her happiness. She looks several years younger and I mean that literally. Kacchan had told me that Aunty had been giving Mom special jars of her unique formula face cream and added her sweat to quicken the results. Mom could pass for my older sister now and it is so weird. At least she doesn't look as young as Aunty, well at least yet anyway. I now understand why Kacchan gets so mad when he is compared to Aunty. Mom was also sharing the cream with Dad and it looked odd to see him getting younger, of course it hasn't helped his health much otherwise. Not with the kind of injury he has anyway.

"All Might, I didn't know you had a son so old," Endeavor walked up on the screen and I saw Dabi flinch at the sight of him.

"He is adopted actually, my wife and I adopted three, in addition to our son," Dad smiled back at him but Endeavor eyes Dabi for barely a moment before turning to look back to the field and the camera shut off, now only showing those of us on the field. Looks like break time is over, they are making announcements for the third and final round. The tournament.

I looked over at Todoroki who was still looking at the screen that had only moments ago showed Dabi and Dad. "You know, Dad won't fault you if you still have feelings for him. It would make him hate him less if even a small part of you still loved him," I said slowly but he shook his head.

"I was never anything to him but his creation and he was nothing less than my torturer," he answered and I nodded.

"Then at the end of this when I win this thing I'm going to expose him to the world," Kacchan leaned on my shoulder while he talked to him. "Are you sure that's okay? People will start to only see you as a victim," he warned.

Todoroki shrugged before looking back at him, "isn't that what I am though?"

"You are so much more than that. Your quirk is yours, not his. Feel free to use it as you please," I shook my head talking to Todoroki and we were walking up some stairs to our seats. I grabbed Shinso, not letting him go to the general studies section but he also didn't fight me when I gently pulled him towards 1A's seats.

It took a lot of convincing during our training but Todoroki does use his fireside now. Kacchan is so excited for the finals that he could have been frothing at the mouth.

"Time to get this party started," he grinned while setting off small explosions in his hands. I chuckled at him, at least Kacchan will always be Kacchan.
