Chereads / VRMMO: Dragon Born / Chapter 11 - Ep.11

Chapter 11 - Ep.11

Following the events after exiting the ruins David and Neomi left the area towards the nearest town, Hakta Village.

Hakta Village was well liked by most beginners as there was an abundance of dungeons nearby.

But David and Neomi didn't come to Hakta Village to rest but to plan their next move inside an Inn near the centre of Hakta Village.

David was currently hiding in Neomi's backpack to avoid suspicion.

"Get a room at the Inn for a few hours, we need to make a plan and use the books we have."

David had come to respect Neomi and found he could trust her.

And if Neomi had a powerful backer then that might be of use in the future.

'I'll keep her close enough incase I run into trouble. And she'll probably feel indebted to me once she realizes the skills she has in her hands.'

Skill books were invaluable to any player no matter how low ranked they were.

And David and Neomi were sitting on a big pile of gold.

But first they needed to see the goods more carefully to see how much value they could give.

"Neomi Start with-"

"Lara… call me Lara."

David was caught off guard by Lara revealing her real name to David but then David had an epiphany as he looked at Lara more closely.

"It… It can't be… this is not happening right now! This is impossible! This is bad! How is this even possible!?"

If it weren't for the fact the Lara knew David was a player then she might have found it funny to see the little gecko running around in circle on its back legs like a human.

"Mr.Chicken? What's wrong?"

David now knew who NeomiHunt really is and was now more terrified of her then any of the major Guilds combined.

"Lara…. It's me… It's your Cousin… David…"

Lara's eyes widened before she picked David up and brought him closer to her face.

"…Davey? …Little Davey? …what are you doing here?! How are you here?!"

David was now being smothered by his Cousin, Lara Stone.

Growing up David and Lara always had a connection and sometimes David even thought the Lara would try and marry him as did many others who watched them grow up.

Unlike David who kept close to his family roots Lara explored the world and created her own company that made her millions of dollars in science and medicine.

But David didn't want to hinder her achievements so David cut off all contact which was what he had thought was best for both of them.

"Lara?"

"….."

"Big Sis Lara?"

"…You left without even saying goodbye. Stupid Little Davey. Stupid Stupid Stupid little Davey!"

Jim and the other developers didn't know what they were watching as Lara started to scold David.

"Lara just listen! We need to worry about all of the skill books we got from the ruins. How many did you get for your class?"

Lara gave a pouting face as she put all of the books in her possession onto the table. If David didn't react quickly then he might have been crushed by the books.

"I didn't count how many. I just took the ones linked to the Beastial Race and a few others."

David quickly inspected all of the books and started to organize them for Lara.

'Some of these skills are quite useful for her assassin class but there are a few that don't seem quite right for her.'

Lara was more interested in Martial Arts then fighting with a blade so David quickly handed her three books.

"Flash Fist, Beastial Rage and Alpha Dominance. These skills should be used first since you like Martial Arts more."

Flash Fist was an immediate attack with a high chance to stun the victim for 30 seconds. Beastial Rage was a little like his Dragon's rage however it only increased Strength by 5%.

But Alpha Dominance was the true prize as it could allow Lara to control and command other Beastman's provided the necessary conditions were met.

Lara used each book and learned their skills and its mechanisms.

David had then started to look at the books he collected, more specifically the Legacy Skills.

[(Legacy Skill Book)(Mythical)Battle of a thousand Blades]

[Gain the Skill (Mythical)(Army Of A Thousand)]

[Skill Acquisition Requirements: Lv.500, Lv.11 Sword Mastery, Sword Saints Acknowledgment, Sword Saint Candidate]

[(Legacy Skill Book)(Mythical)Holy Prayer]

[Gain the Skill (Mythical)(Passive)(Angels Blessing)]

[Skill Acquisition Requirements:Lv.300, Lv.35 Healing Mastery, Heavens Acknowledgment, Universal Recognition, Savior Title]

[(Legacy Skill Book)(Mythical) Odin's Omnipotence]

[Gain the Skill (Mythical)(Special)(Horn Of Ragnarok)]

[Skill Acquisition Requirements: Odins Favour and Acknowledgment, God Slayer Candidate]

[(Legacy Skill Book)(Mythical) Dark Lord's Secret Of Immortality]

[Gain the Skill (Mythical)(Passive)(Resurrection)]

[Skill Acquisition Requirement:Lv.400, 1,000,000 Evil Karma, 10,000 Sacrifices, 7 Kings of Hell's Acknowledgement]

David had to glance over the skill requirements over several times before it became clear to him.

'These skill books… these shouldn't exist at all! What are these out outrageous requirements!?'

The rank of Mythical was thought to be non existent but now David knew they were very much real.

'If someone were to discover I have these books then it would instantly make me a target.'

But thankfully there were some books that would be of help to David that he grabbed and luckily they didn't have such outrageous requirements to learn.

[You have gained the Skill (Rare)(Passive)(Sixth Sense)]

[You have gained the Skill (Rare)(Passive)(Aura)]

[You have gained the Skill (Unique)(Passive)(Five Element Magic)]

[You have gained the Skill (Legendary)(Passive) (Apex Lethality)]

David felt a surge of power flow through him which was probably due to the acquisition of Aura, Sixth Sense and Apex Lethality.

[(Rare Skill)(Passive)Sixth Sense Lv.1]

[Gain a premonition of what's to come or of a desired outcome]

[(Rare Skill)(Passive)Aura Lv.1]

[Infuse your Mana and Conscience together to wield your Aura at will]

[(Unique Skill)(Passive)Five Element Magic Lv.1]

[Improved control over Elemental skills and spells]

[(Legendary Skill)(Passive)Apex Lethality Lv.1]

[When in the form of a Beast gain 50% Damage Reduction and +50% Attack Damage when fighting other Beasts]

Apex Lethality was a gift given by Lady Luck herself as David now had a permanent 50% Damage Reduction and a 50% Damage Boost as well.

And although it was very feint David could feel the Aura that acted like a light layer of protection around him.

Most high rankers use Aura and at a much higher degree then David but it was still quite a rare skill.

However since David's new skills were passive skills it meant he had no way to progress them by force and had to let them grow slowly.

But then it dawned on David that there was a way to get what he needed.

"Hey umm big sis Lara?"

"What is it Stupid Davey?"

There was only one thing in the world that could help David grow his passive skills at an accelerated rate compared to most players.

But the item in question was very VERY expensive but there was a solution.

"Can I ask you to buy me something?"

"It must be expensive if Stupid Davey is asking for it. What is it?"

"Gem of Fates, all I need is one of them."

"...."

"Please?"

"...."

"I'll make my special Roast beef Macaroni and cheese with onion rings for you if you-"

"You'll have it by tomorrow, I'll send you my address."

Lara hastily logged off without even saying goodbye while David and the developers who were watching were at a loss for words.

The only item in the game to increase Skill experience gains was called the Gem of Fates and each Gem was valued at approximately 500 million USD but they could be sold for much higher prices then that.
