David felt like his whole world was about to crumble to pieces as he started gathering what he needed from the local supermarket.
After 17 long years David was about to meet his cousin that he cut ties with and to his surprise Lara hadn't forgotten about him as he had hoped.
But the moment of restlessness inside David's mind was quickly interrupted by a familiar face that wasn't quite pleasant to see.
"Hello… Tina…"
"…Hey David …fancy seeing you here. Such a small world. How are you?"
David didn't look at her as he continued shopping but Tina and other customers nearby clearly heard the frustration and disgust in David's voice.
"Say what you want to say before I'm done shopping. This isn't a chance encounter and we both know it."
Tina nearly dropped the groceries in the basket she was carrying but still continued to follow David through the aisles.
"Just wanted to say that I'm-"
David dropped the basket and gave Tina a death glare while he tightly clenched his fists.
David was in a foul mood as he had not forgotten about the past so quickly.
"Don't say your sorry when your little plan with your Lover backfired and bit you in the ass. If we weren't in public then I wouldn't be so calm. So go back to the rat's nest you came from and leave me alone."
David then picked up his basket and practically ran off to pay for the groceries he needed all while Tina was left crying silently in the middle of the aisle.
David could only remember the painful moments that Tina had given him.
Tina was David's Ex Girlfriend who not only cheated on him but also stole everything he had to his name. Only a few years ago did he learn that Tina was dumped by her lover and disowned by her family while the stocks that were David's and were quite substantial were liquidated to fund her extremely expensive lifestyle.
But now she had been hoping to at least have someone to lean on and to coddle her but she received only a cold and emotionless heart from David.
It was another reason David wanted to cut contract with everyone so that no one would catch wind of what had happened.
It was David's last kindness to Tina as he feared what Lara might do if she found out.
Even now David was showing kindness to someone who had betrayed him and used him.
But Tina was too sad to see that.
'There has to be a way to get him to forgive me. There has to!'
The restlessness in David's mind was now replaced with an unyielding rage.
'She thinks I'll forgive her so easily!? If I ever meet her in Heavens Wrath then I'll show her just how much I care about her apology.'
David anger ran deep for those who had used him and betrayed his trust. Such anger wasn't healed with a simple apology and rather with revenge.
But now wasn't the time for revenge as David pushed his dark thoughts down the well as he stood at the entrance of an luxurious apartment building.
Almost immediately everyone in the lobby noticed David but none of them said anything.
David stuck out like a sore thumb since he was wearing a grey and black sweater and sweatpants while carrying the groceries.
Everyone else in the lobby was at least wearing suits and dresses.
David would have felt embarrassed and ashamed by his appearance but his anger distracted him from caring at all.
"I'm here to see Lara Stone, she's expecting me."
The entire lobby went silent to the point you could hear a pin drop.
"I'm sorry but you must be confused with someone else, Miss Stone wouldn't be meeting with someone who can't even dress properly. Please leave."
David looked at the woman at the front desk for a few seconds and gave a chuckle.
"Then please tell her that her cousin is here and is waiting."
The woman at the desk brushed it off as David waited out the front door despite it had started to rain.
But after nearly 15 minutes the door to the elevator opened with Lara and a handful of guards walking next to her.
"Miss Stone! Do you wish to have a car pulled around?"
Lara hardly goes anywhere aside from important events so it was almost natural to call a car to drive her.
However the woman at the desk had noticed Lara staring at her intensely and looked back at David who was still being pelted by the rain outside.
"I'm expecting a very important guest. He may be wearing more casual clothing but send him up when he gets here."
Everyone in the room slowly turned to look at David who wore the most devilish smile he could muster.
David looked like the creepy villain in most movies as his face was mostly covered.
Almost immediately Lara noticed and looked outside and saw David standing in the rain.
"You two, bring my cousin inside and get him dry up then bring him upstairs."
"Yes Boss!"
"Yes Boss!"
All that could be heard was David's squeaky shoes and the rustling of the bags he carried.
But David stopped in front of Lara before Lara immediately wrapped her arms around him without even caring if she got wet.
"Hey little Davey! Why were you standing out in the rain? Why didn't you go to the front desk?"
David glared over Lara's shoulder at the women at the front desk who looked like her world was falling apart and smiled.
"Good to see you too Big Sis Lara. I tried to earlier but the lady thought I wasn't serious because of how I dressed."
Lara finally let go of David and turned her head to the lady at the desk and at the snap of her fingers the other two guards dragged her outside into the rain.
"Let's get you dried up upstairs. I'll make sure nothing happens like this again."
David pulled down his hood and smiled before entering the elevator with the two guards.
But Lara's smile disappeared as soon as the elevator door closed.
"Evict the tenants of room 218 immediately and have that woman's authorization to any facilities we're associated with destroyed."
Not only was the person responsible punished but also her family who lived in the building had to suffer for her arrogance.
Some might say that Lara was abusing her power and status but no one spoke out because of the fear that they would be next if they said anything at all.
Lara quickly left for the next Elevator and sighed in relief as the doors closed before turning to David who was drying his hair with a towel.
"I think that did the job Davey. But was it really necessary? Your all wet now."
David smiled and gave Lara a bag of tangerine's from one of the bags which she accepted gladly.
"Don't tell me it wasn't fun to do. Now no one will question if I'm here to see you or not, plus I'm sure Sara and Jack will appreciate the upgrade."
David had orchestrated the scandal in the lobby so no one would question that David was there to see his cousin.
And it gave a much needed wake up call to show them that they shouldn't judge someone by their appearance.
Even Sara the lady at the front desk who was in on it had a lot of fun while she and her boyfriend who lived in room 218 now were staying in the penthouse in one of the nearby hotels as a token of appreciation for the many years she served to the company.
"You always were good at making ingenious plans like an evil mastermind."
"It is what it is. Did you get the Gem of Fates?"
David was eager for the key item that will allow him to catch up to most of the Rankers but he still showed a hint of restraint.
"Do you know of the player named AngelsAdvocate? Well she figured out it was for you and wants to meet you in person."
David would have spit out his drink if he had a drink in his hands after hearing the leader of the Holy Prophet Guild personally wanting to meet.
"It seems I can't hide any longer since she has already deduced that the one who wants the Gem of Fates is the Dragon King's Descendant himself. Set the meeting for tomorrow afternoon outside the Open Kolbold Dungeon."
While David had wanted to keep a low profile for the moment he desperately needed the Gem of Fates to catch up.
But he also thought that he could use the meeting to his advantage and enter an Open Dungeon.
'I'll Level up in the open dungeons and give them a taste of my gifts. If everything goes right then I'll gain a trusted ally with the true Master of Manipulation herself.'
But now David entered the kitchen in Lara's exclusive penthouse and got to work while Lara watched while eating the tangerines.
"So how's your Company? I hear you went international a few years ago."
Although David had cut contract it didn't mean he wasn't kept up to date on the latest news of Lara's business life.
"It took some time but it ended alright after a few months. It was tricky to get a branch over to Russia and Germany. How are things with you?"
David froze for a few seconds as he remembered Tina at the grocery store but resumed cooking the roast.
"Everything's fine, no girlfriend's and no pets so it does get a little lonely. Anyway I'm cooking enough so you'll have some leftover for the week so I won't be a bother to you with your work."
Lara sighed and place a set of keys on the counter and said with a smile.
"I'll have a guy help you move your stuff into your room and I'll get you a Capsule as well that way you don't have to rent one."
David froze in his tracks and turned to look on the counter and see a pair of keys to room 218.
"S-S-Sorry but I don't think-"
"David… don't make me call my Mother."
"Okay Okay Okay I'll move in! Just don't call Aunty Maze! Please!"
If there was one thing David feared more the Lara it was his Aunt, Maze Stone, Woman's MMA champion 8 years in a row.
David could still vividly recall all the times his Aunt had to knock some sense into him.
