Initially, he wanted to use this to his advantage and scour through the perils for anything that could aid him. Unfortunately, it was much more challenging than he had expected.
After his first trial, he had lost his hair to the venom of a wall-crawling arachnid beast; on his second trial, he had lost his right arm to a minotaur before it was regrown with Olivia's aid, utilising her Divine Priestess System.
After that, the scars kept increasing until he broke down and finally realised that this was it; there was no overpowered inheritance or divine skill to help him catch up to his co-workers.
There is no light at the end of the dungeon for him to cling to!
Ezekiel felt as though his life was Hera's favourite TV channel. It was an utterly hopeless series of recurring episodes!
Regardless, Ezekiel tried his best to survive.
He also plotted his revenge, as he couldn't forget how he had been treated by the people he once had a familiar relationship with.
At first, he felt that getting his revenge would be impossible because of their extraordinary power.
However, as they continued to advance nearer to the Demon lord's territory, he realised that there was a chance for him to have his revenge.
"You guys should stop bullying him. Remember, we are about to defeat the Demon lord, so we should be well rested and prepared for whatever we might encounter," the Priestess said audibly.
She then focused on Ezekiel. "And you, what are you standing there for? Shouldn't you be sharing the healing potions with everyone right now? Or don't tell me that you want me to use up the renaming of Prana to heal everyone present just before we fight the Demon lord," she added with a hint of disdain. Her eyes narrowed at Ezekiel.
Ezekiel shook his head fiercely. "I'm sorry! I had almost forgotten. I'll distribute the healing potion right away," he hastily responded.
He pulled the large, hefty bag from his back, carefully placed it on the floor, then pulled its zip open and meticulously took out the healing portions.
The Priestess snorted as she witnessed him hand out the potions individually until it was her turn. "After we are done killing the Demon lord, I will ensure that the church pulls its resources together to send you back to earth so that you can squander the rest of your life there. You don't deserve to stay in this world because you've contributed nothing worthwhile. In fact, you should be grateful that you've managed to make it this far," she said, collecting the vial filled with green liquid.
She opened the cap and poured it into her mouth to regain her Prana and stamina.
After killing the Demon lord, their name would be mantled with glory and resound throughout the entire continents of Eldoria, and they would be etched upon it as legends.
Naturally, they would enjoy the rewards and recognition that comes with it.
Regardless of his strength, Ezekiel would also partake in the rewards and recognition as a member of the Heroes' party, enjoying all they had worked hard to earn. Some of whom also deserved to be here were already dead on their journey to the Demon lord's continent, so how could she watch and allow Ezekiel to reap the fruits he hadn't worked for?
Ezekiel smiled lightly as he nodded in understanding. "Thank you, Divine Priestess," he responded.
Malice swelled within Ezekiel's heart as he delivered the final healing potion. Even if Zues starts semen-rentation, Ezekiel swore to kill every one of them on this vile continent.
He parted the frost dragon bladder poison in his pocket, which he had spent his entire life savings to acquire.
Since his actions were monitored, he wouldn't have obtained it without lying that it was bought to be used on the Demon lord if the plan didn't go as intended.
Ezekiel noticed the disdain in Olivia's eyes, but he didn't pay any attention to her. He was already used to it and understood that the best he could do now was pretend he hadn't noticed.
Because they didn't need to spend their wealth buying extra healing potions for him, Ezekiel securely arranged the bag behind his back again. He sat on the ground, hoping to recover strength before the party prepared to advance.
So that he would have the strength to properly lay them at rest on their final resting ground.
…....…..
Ten minutes later
"Is everyone ready?" said the Hero, turning his head backwards to look at the rest of his party.
They all nodded their heads in response, signifying their readiness.
The Hero nodded. He took a deep breath and opened the door wide enough for them to enter. "Let's go!" The Hero ordered, drawing his divine sword from his scabbard as he rushed inwards.
The rest of the Heroes' party followed.
However, they were met with a pitched darkness when they entered.
"Hey, what's going on? Where is the Demon Lord?" the archer asked in confusion, lowering her exquisite bow and arrow.
They were all confused as they looked around, their eyes meeting the eerie darkness and the frightening silence.
Ezekiel stuck close to the door as the eerie darkness was enough to send a shiver down his spine.
"Hey, don't tell me that the Demon Lord turned his tail and ran away?" The Beastmaster began. However, just as he was about to complete his sentence, the large wooden door behind them abruptly snapped shut with a resounding "BOOOM!!"
Ezekiel snapped his head towards the door, shocked. He cursed under his breath as he attempted to reopen it. However, his attempts were fruitless.
"Get out of my way, you piece of shit!" The Beastmaster growled, throwing Ezekiel aside before placing his two robust arms on the large, wooden door.
His muscles bulged, and his fangs grew out of his teeth as he utilised all of his strength to push the door open. However, no matter how hard he tried, the large wooden door wouldn't budge.
