Ezekiel continued to laugh for several minutes until he finally calmed down with a devilish grin on his face.
[Ding]

[Transgression Debt's System] activated.
Error. Ezekiel Amos has been targeted with the [Transgression Debt's System]
[CRITICAL ERROR. SYSTEM CAN NOT COMPLY]
[PATCHING SYSTEM…]
[PATCHING… FAILED]
[FATAL SYSTEM ERROR]
[INITIATING SYSTEM RESET]
Huh! Ezekiel blinked as he listened to the bell ringing within his mind and the system notifications flickering before his eyes. He knew what they were because he had seen them whenever the Heroes' Party wanted to show each other their stats and skills. However, he couldn't understand what they were doing before him.
[Ding! [Transgression Debt's System] has been activated.]
Ezekeil blinked again. He sat upright and rubbed his eyes at the sight before him.
"I have a system," Ezekiel muttered to himself. "I have a system!" he exclaimed.
Just as he was about to stand up from his seat and scream excitedly, a heavy and suffocating pressure suddenly filled the throne room.
A bright light erupted out of nowhere, forcing Ezekiel to close his eyes tightly.
When he opened his eyes again, he saw a very tall woman wearing a long dress that covered her legs down to her feet. The dress's colour was very dark, resembling the darkness of the night sky, but it was dotted with countless glowing spots that looked like stars twinkling in the sky.
Her long, silvery hair flowed down her back, and it had a bright hue that extended all the way to her broad, whitish wings, which spread outwards, making her look like an angel that descended into the mortal world.
The woman looked around, her expression changing from astonishment to morbid shock as though she couldn't believe the sight before her.
As Ezekiel processed the scene before him, he slowly crawled backwards. He never imagined that the goddess who had summoned them into this world would suddenly materialize right when he had successfully exerted his revenge.
How long had she been watching them? Why appear now instead of stopping him earlier?
Ezekeil's mind reeled with questions as he quietly tried to escape the goddess.
However, as though sensing Ezekiel's presence, the goddess snapped her head towards his location and growled, "You!" Her expression was distorted and furry as she fixed her eyes on him.
Ezekiel felt fear gnaw from within the depths of his heart, and without delay, he sprang to his feet, turned around, and ran forward with everything his strength could muster.
His mind was no longer focused on celebrating his victory and successfully activating his system but on getting far away from here.
"Where do you think you are going?" the goddess's voice resounded from the throne room.
Ezekiel felt the tone of her voice—it was filled with hate and anger. Just as he was about to increase his pace, a heavy force slammed down on his body. Ezekiel immediately felt his body become light, rose into the air, and turned around towards the goddess.
Ezekiel immediately wanted to plead for his life, but he instantly noticed that the goddess was… crying.
Why was she crying? Isn't he the one who was supposed to be brawling heavily from his eyes and with snorts flooding out of his nose as he pleaded for his life? So why was she––
"Shut up! I can hear what you are thinking," the goddess yelled at him. She huffed, stomping her feet on the ground, forming a broad crevice underneath her feet. "What were you thinking?… You ruined my only chance for some stupid revenge…. Ah! I have nothing left now!.. Nothing."
Hearing her words, Ezekiel's eyes widened. "You have been watching us throughout this time?" he asked, his words jerking from his lips faster than he could think.
"Did you think I wouldn't keep an eye on you after bringing you all here?" the goddess responded.
Ezekiel immediately felt his anger boil as he stared at the goddess before him. For so many years, he had faced outrageous, life-and-death encounters and witnessed so many deaths, including that of a beloved colleague who had treated him with kindness despite their new life.
However, everything that had occurred was merely a show to her!
'I hate her!' Ezekiel thought, grinding his teeth in fury.
"Bastard, didn't you hear that I can listen to your thoughts?" the goddess said, staring at him with an emotionless gaze. "I have been thinking about various methods to make you regret your actions, and I have the perfect method." She stretched out her right arm and straightened her fingers wide apart.
Ezekiel's eyes widened as he slowly soared towards her. He only halted when his neck was firmly held within her grasp mid-air.
As the goddess tightened her grip around Ezekiel's neck, she asked, "Do you have any last wish before I crush the life out of you? Perhaps some cries of apology or telling me why I shouldn't end your miserable existence?" her voice was frigid and devoid of expression.
Ezekiel opened his mouth and tried to speak, but rather than words, he coughed out a mouthful of blood. He decided to nod, covering up for his inability to utter a word.
"That's good. Now keep those words to yourselves," the goddess responded.
Although she could kill the human before her merely by her gaze, she felt it much better and more satisfying to squeeze his life out slowly; after all, he had cost her a lot.
As the pressure around his neck increased, crushing his windpipe and internal organs, Ezekiel felt his surroundings becoming hazy. He attempted to seek comfort in the goddess's firm grip; at least he had achieved his revenge, and he only had to pay with his life, being killed directly by the hands of the goddess.
However, he couldn't.
Ezekiel vaguely observed the goddess's teary expression and slowly stretched his one remaining good hand upwards. He drew out a middle finger at the goddess.
BITCH!
Although the goddess did not comprehend Ezekiel's gesture, she could still read his thoughts. She fumed and instantly tightened her grip, immediately ending his life.
