"Huh? Oh, of course."
I cleared my hazy mind, realising that wall there was the wall of Lavender Village. My mind was not focused whatsoever right now, which gos to show just how relaxed I was…
Ugh, I shouldnt have spoke more than I had to though. Now the atmosphere that I like so much is gonna take a whil-
...
"L-lets keep going then."
I requested, tugging Emily's hand lightly. It was as if I was trying refute the myself that acknowledged the fact that I liked the atmosphere, and I don't know how I feel about that... bad is one thing though.
The light crunching of the grass that surrounded us as we kept walking, and the strong winds that chilled our faces hastened my beloved atmospheres arrival, and soon enough, I found myself gripping Emily's hand tighter than ever.
I wish the village were miles away...
5 minutes later...
"Can I have your permit then?"
A village guard in glistening armour asked, with his arm stretched out towards the center between the two mysterious travellers.
"I dont have one."
Emily said as she reached to her poc-
Huh?
The village guard raised an eyebrow.
"Sorry, I heard that correctly right? You don't have one?"
Emily nodded in affirmation.
"Oh" I muttered absent mindedly.
Irritated, for some reason, I looked down to Emilys feet, thunking I'd see her drawing a demon ritual on the ground, but I saw nothing, except her still lower body harmlessly standing there.
But despite my overthinking, or not, my heart was beating so regularly.
"Then how do yo-"
"Sorry miss but we don't make any exceptions here, much less to suspicious travellers in nigh-"
A second guard cutted in as he rather sassily walked towards the situation, only to be, aswell, interrupted in the midst of his sentence.
"Can I show you a magic trick then? You might change your mind." Emily asked in a matter-of-fact voice.
Ugh, whatever. Can we just go back to walking? Even walking into the wall would be fine...
"Miss, there are people waiting in line, We don't have time for your games."
Seemingly oblivious to the guards words, Emily nudged on the boy beside her, then bent down to whisper something to him.
Hmm? She's whispering something to me? I probably have to do something then...
She then went back to standing with a smug smile this time and gazed at the guards who she knew were about to dirt themselves, as she waited for the boy next to her to take action.
10 seconds passed however, and still nothing happened.
She then turned again to look at the boy she just asked a favour of, and saw him looking back at her in a daze, with a dumb smile on his face.
"Is this it? A charm spell or something? Wow, what a talented actor that kid is." One of the guards said sarcastically, mockingly clapping his hands.
Confused, she once again bent down to ask the same thing, this time with a tinge of desperation in her voice. Just about to finish whispering, she saw the whole body of the boy flinch.
"Wait what did you say? Sorry I wasn't focused..."
The boys apology was followed by the impatient sighs of the two village guards, aswell as a few from the queue.
"Use your optic powers Vormet!!" Emily ordered desperately, now giving up on surprising the guards, who let out a peculiar sound after hearing her order.
"Huh? Oh, okay..."
Hmm? We don't seem to be in a battle, why is she asking me to use my powers? Does she mean anywhere? Does she want to show it to someone?
"Is anywhere fine?" I asked looking back at the maid, who was mercilessly nodding her head.
Clear on what to do, I pointed my finger at the ground and entered the eyes mind, and in succession manifested 5 stone pellets around said finger, and then shot them all at the compact dirt beneath all of us.
The stone bullets punctured the ground ruthlessly, all of them managing to leave a hole there twice the size of the actual bullets.
After following the dust that was creeping away from the craters in the ground with my eyes, I then looked back at the one that asked for this strange favour, only to see her looking forward with a smug face.
Tracking the target of her boasting, I saw the village guards looking at me with deadpan faces. They then began pinching themselves, increasing the force by each second that passed.
A deafening silence overcame the area, as masses could be seen pinching their bodies like a weird breed of zombies as they looked at the mother and child pair.
The silence felt annoying to me. Its not the same. Its not the same as when I was alone with Emily.
Realising they were awake, the village guards shot open their previously half asleep eyes and looked at me in shock.
Soon, the casual striding of a towering figure towards the guards blocked my sight. And I quickly followed suit.
"You don't make exceptions for anyone, yeah?" Emily got back at them, smirking. The guards didn't waste time and quickly got out of the way.
"W-we were obviously exaggerating..." One of the guards said with an awkward smile as we walked past them.
"Ugh, whatever." I said outloud rolling my eyes, accidentally I think.
So is this how those arrogant young masters in the shows feel? I kinda sympathise for them... Everything else just feels bothersome when I could be walking alone with Emily.

We both walked silently on the concrete path, her, listening to the small talks of the villagers around us, and me, attempting to absorb every single second of this to the fullest.
However, making my heart sink a little, we came to an abrupt halt. Who was the source of this halt? Me.
My hazy eyes had a fixed gaze at a painted piece of cloth hanging from a wooden table.
5 seconds passed, and I finally realised what I was looking at.
The Northern Lights.
My eyes gained shine rapidly like no other time, looking at the cloth that held a few words on it. I wasn't sure what the words read as my eyes were beginning to blur quickly, but I didn't really care.
Are they really in this world too?
My rib cages suppressed a lion as my mind went wild thinking about the new opportunities that I could take advantage of in this lifetime. Like, imagine, sitting alone with Emily watching the Nortbern Lights. Such a dream right?!? If I was given the chance to be immortal, I would 100% take it.
Right when the name 'Emily' seeped into my mind, I became conscious of my sense of touch again, and payed special attention to the soft hand gripping mine.
I then recalled the last now horribly embarrassing 10 minutes that passed by like lightning, and turned my head swiftly towards the what I only imagined was an incubus next to me, that held the same accursed smile that she had on when she would lovingly ruffle my hair.
…
So accursed…
So... sweetly accurs-
Thwak-!
Breaking out of the genjutsu through a slap to my own face that caused a shudder in the hand that was gripping mine, a cold sweat stroked my back.
This world… is freaking dangerous.
Analysing the pickle that stranger Vormet got me into, i quickly got back in game and turned back to the direction of the painted cloth, but this time I looked above the table, at the face of an old lady with a fist dug into her cheek as she looked at me with a smirk.
"Ya like stars don't ya, kid?"
She asked me with a strange accent. It was strange because this village was right next to Pewter village, yet they have such contrasting accents. Not to mention the guards at the gate didn't have this accent. I guess it's a habit she picked up.
I nodded my head calmly at the fortune teller.
"Indeed, you should always aim for the moon, because even if you miss, you'll end up landing on one of the stars" The old lady said mysteriously, acting as if she didn't just dish out the first saying to pop up in her head related to stars in order to make the naive toddler on front of her think she was wise, when she wasn't.
"I quite like you kiddo." She acclaimed to no one's interest… still acting wise.
"Wanna have your future told? Just ask your momma there for some money, I'll be sure to give you a 20% discount."
I shook my head slowly. The old lady and the maid then realised that the only actions I've done in this whole conversation were an almost unbothered nod, and an also almost unbothered shake of the head, causing them to chuckle a little, followed by a ruffle of my head from the maid, the hands of which began to feel a bit ominous to me.
After another quick glance at the painted cloth, i tugged on Emily's hand so we can continue our journey.
Walking, this time with a fresh mind, I once again recalled the last 10 minutes, hoping to find a clue on what Emily was planning, but one particular moment was revisited frequently.
I missed it. I missed my first ever protagonist moment. And to top it all off, I ended up looking like a arrogant third rate villain aswell! Oh my god how I want to punch myself right now.
But whatever.
After running out of things to think about, or looking for an excuse to stop thinking, I couldn't help but notice the pleasant atmosphere. I really couldn't be mad at my old self anymore, I wish time would stop, I really d-
6 minutes later, we reached the inn.
