Different situations. Toji's body and his Heavenly Restriction were more developed. Here, his body and Heavenly Restriction is still young. He's in the process of building it. Every fight, every and any injury he gets, he gets stronger. He won't get injured like that next time. Goo really has to pull out a sword to do some real damage to Toji now.
