Aaron heard a soft voice pierce the silence, it's her, narrowing his eyes in realisation. Several clicks followed by guns pointing towards the voice soon followed.
Aaron resisted rolling his eyes at his men though his deadpan eyes radiated his thoughts.
Seriously? She's half your size Alex.
What? It's always the ones you least expect that give you the biggest surprise! Alex eyeballed back, refusing to lower his gun.
Shrugging his shoulders Aaron approached the young woman and looked down at her, interested to see if she would stand her ground or buckle under the pressure. Surprisingly, the woman refused to back down, in fact, she seemed to take courage at the fact that she had caught his attention and stood up a little straighter, her eyes gleaming.
"Well? I'm listening" he drawled lazily, crossing his arms and cocking his head. The jittery woman from before was gone, replaced by a woman with a much more brazen gaze. He had to admit, his interest was now well and truly piqued by this plucky pint-sized woman. Or perhaps she's just crazy, he mused.
Unaware she had just been branded as crazy, Zinnia stood frozen, her mind aghast at the betrayal of her body. She dearly hoped her shell-shocked mind wasn't shown on her face even as she struggled to string two words together to share her 'genius' solution!
She didn't even know what this solution was! Why did she talk?!
Staring at the 'boss', she realised it was the same man who had run his hand over her hair and warned her to stay quiet.
Well, aren't I a glutton for punishment? Does this make me a masochist? She pondered fleetingly before sensing the man glowering down at her was starting to run out of patience. If the man before her, had been aware of her thoughts, he would've confirmed that yes, he was right, she was indeed crazy. Luckily for Zinnia, the man was unable to read her mind and was partially deceived by the stoic facade she was putting up. Swallowing hard, she rushed to get her thoughts out, stumbling over her words, hoping they made sense and more importantly would work.
"Er...well the thing is...you guys want to get out of here in one piece and so do we... So maybe we can work together? The police won't hurt us, we're hostages…everybody just wants a peaceful resolution and what's money in the face of that? Banks eh? Who cares? They're all corrupt...er so what I'm trying to say is... As long as you keep your promise to not hurt anyone else, we or I will cooperate as your shield to get you out of here...ok?"
Ooooohh what did I just say? Zinnia's eyes widened, as her brain spluttered to a stop. She was once again betrayed by her mouth.
What did she just say?! (Everyone else)
Boss: "Pfft! Hahahahahahahahaha!"
Alex: I told you it's always the ones you least expect ~(•÷•)~
