Chapter 48 - Learning Basics of Alchemy

"Hmm, this place brings back some good memories... let's Analyse the area just to be safe," sighed Aetheris with a sense of nostalgia as he suddenly appeared in the Ripper Forest.

Aetheris gradually lifted a minor restriction on his hearing, extending his auditory range to encompass everything within a 0.5-kilometer radius.

The usual sounds of the forest reached his ears—the rustling of leaves, the distant calls of unseen creatures—but nothing peculiar stood out.

He then removed a small limitation from his sense of smell, searching for any strong or medicinal scents around him. Yet, just like with his hearing, he detected nothing out of the ordinary.

"It seems like there's nothing concerning... just to be safe [Magic sense]," Muttered Aetheris as he began to expand the range of his Aura, thus covering the 0.5km range.

"Interesting..."

Aetheris felt many presences under the 0.5km radius, he didn't see them under some 360 vision like some being defying the heavens but he felt their presence and only one thought came to his mind... weak

"It seems like there is no threat, but... [Mana Barrier] + [Silence]," Aetheris murmured as he casted a spherical protective barrier around the 0.5 km radius.

A thin membrane formed, infused with a silence spell that prevented sound from entering or exiting the barrier, creating an isolated zone of silence and security around him.

"Now... let's learn Alchemy"

...

*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*

"*Cough* Another failed experiment... I've never had this performance issue before. For God's sake, I was capable of harnessing cosmic and gamma radiation," Aetheris sighed, inhaling some smoke from the enchanted cauldron.

Two days had passed since Aetheris began his study of Alchemy. He started by grasping the basics of plants and their properties, then moved on to attempt potion-making, hoping to refine his skills before tackling pill creation. Yet, despite his efforts, each attempt ended in failure, his concoctions falling short of the precision required.

"It seems like I have to change my approach and make something...new, maybe the reason I am failing is due to...greed" sighed Aetheris as he looked at the sky, it was currently 3 Am and the sun was slowly beginning to rise

"[Ignite]," Aetheris commanded as a small flame flickered to life in his hand. He released it into the enchanted cauldron, triggering its energy-siphoning mechanism. The low-grade Mana stones within began to pulse as the first step of alchemy commenced.

Aetheris began to grind the Mandrake root into a fine paste, carefully ensuring no piece was left uncrushed.

He then turned his attention to the nightshade essence, skillfully reducing it to a fine powder, Once satisfied, he added both ingredients into the cauldron with precision.

Next, he carefully measured out a small amount of basilisk blood, its dark, viscous form glistening as it dripped into the mixture.

Finally, with a steady hand, he pricked his finger and allowed a single drop of his own blood to fall into the cauldron, serving as the catalyst for the reaction to come.

"Mhhhm good progress so far"

Aetheris began to pour some enchanted fae dust to increase the effects of the potion, the enchanted cauldron began to shimmer as it was distilling the potion while infusing it with the Mana stone to activate its intended purposes

"Hmmm, it's a success, but... it's quite impure [Magic sense]" sighed Aetheris as he began to analyze the energy flow of the potion.

The potion was still not fully refined and impure meaning it was not filled with impurities but it was not resonating...it was not stable

"It's...a success??? How come does something I come up with work but the original bland was a failure Remiel" questioned Aetheris as he sniffed the potion, it's scent was muddy and acidic

"Can't you be honest for once and say you're proud of me" sighed Aetheris as he poured the potion into 6 medium-sized vials, and quickly used [Holy purification] to clean himself

"[Systematic appraisal]"

Components: The venom's biochemical makeup is complex, likely combining neurotoxins with psychoactive agents to produce its effects.

Purity:5%(can refined further)

Administration: The potion should be given in large doses since it has low purity, the higher the purity the lesser the dosage needed

Creator's imprint: None

Would you like to give this potion a name and a creator imprint Y/N>>

"Hmmm, this potion is evil by nature; the creator's imprint is like my alchemist's name..call the Potion JOKERS venom, and My imprint will be THE BISHOP," replied Aetheris with a smile; the name was the one he used as a Mafia Don before he ascended the ranks of the underworld and became Hades.

You acquired a Basic Alchemy Skill

Name: Simple Alchemy

Rank: Mortal

Description: This skill allows the user to perform fundamental alchemical processes using common materials. The user can create basic items, potions, with minor magical effects. The skill is ideal for beginners and supports everyday needs.>>

As the flood of information surged through Aetheris's mind, he realized that his previous manual on Alchemy had been incomplete and filled with errors.

This new influx of knowledge revealed the true complexities of Alchemy, including precise processes, accurate recipes, and the deeper principles governing the craft.

The flawed methods and incomplete recipes he had relied on were now being replaced by a more sophisticated understanding.

This new information could dramatically enhance his Alchemical skills, potentially leading to more effective and powerful concoctions.

"This...is odd, so skills can affect pathways depending on their nature," muttered Aetheris as he analyzed the contents provided by his new skill.

Unlike abilities, Skills have different levels of mastery: Beginner, Minor Achievement, Major Achievement, Perfection, and Assimilation.

Levels of mastery differ from rankings. Mastery levels—Beginner, Minor Achievement, Major Achievement, Perfection, and Assimilation—reflect one's proficiency with a skill.

Rankings, on the other hand, indicate the potential of a skill. Two skills might share the same mastery level but have different rankings, with the higher-ranked skill having greater potential for growth, development, and evolution.

"So this is why Mother was preventing me from learning Arts, they require time and dedication..so that's my flaw..huh

An organized mind is a disciplined mind, and a disciplined mind is a powerful mind...I have to abide by my previous code of conduct " sighed Aetheris as he looked at the rising Sun, although it felt like minutes or hours had passed since he began doing Alchemy

"Let's experiment with more potions "
