Zara didn't notice those two people but was concentrated on seeing whether this store would have the collections that she expected from ones displayed there.
As she examined the designs, she thought it would be a good idea to check out the store. She walked in and was greeted by a sales girl who appeared to be in her early twenties with respect, although there was a hint of insecurity in her eyes.
"Welcome to Pure Jewelers. How can I assist you today, ma'am?" The young woman spoke politely, though a hint of uncertainty could be detected in her gaze.
Zara looked at the girl and asked calmly, "Can you show me the latest designs?"
The girl's face lit up with joy upon hearing Zara's request, and she eagerly nodded, "Of course, follow me, Ma'am."
With a smile, she led Zara to the section showcasing the latest designs.
The girl brought Zara to show some designs. She placed some latest models on the table so that Zara could see and decide what she wanted.
Zara was attracted to two designs.
One was a pear-shaped diamond, flawlessly cut to reveal its inner fire and brilliance. The magnificent gem is surrounded by round diamonds, each meticulously selected for their clarity and scintillation.
Zara felt that the gems create an ethereal glow as if a constellation of stars has descended to adorn the wearer.
And the other had cushion-cut diamonds which seemed to reflect a spectrum of northern lights. Surrounding it was an intricate arrangement of baguettes and round diamonds.
Zara glanced at the two sets and then looked up at the girl, saying, "I'll take both of these." She then pointed at the sets.
The girl was completely stunned when she saw the sets that Zara had chosen. She never imagined that she would be able to sell such expensive jewelry in her lifetime.
She also never expected that the seemingly ordinary girl in front of her would have enough money to purchase these items.
So, she decided to inform Zara about the prices before packing them up.
She stuttered, "M.. Hu.. Miss." She couldn't hide her excitement as she stuttered to speak.
Zara glanced up when she heard her being called
The girl was mesmerized by the sparkling eyes that were looking at her and coupled with the Amber eyes of Zara, the girl didn't know how to react.
Throughout the time, she didn't notice the customer so thoroughly because Zara was wearing a cap and mask, but now she was completely stunned by those eyes.
Zara looked at the stunned salesperson and rapped her knuckles on the table.
The girl snapped out of her daze and felt embarrassed to meet Zara's gaze again. Nevertheless, she composed herself and said calmly, "Miss, this one is Celestial Radiance and the other one is Aurora Splendor."
Zara simply nodded as the girl spoke.
The girl then added, "Miss, these are the newest items just put out for display. They're a bit pricey though."
As she spoke, her face turned slightly red under Zara's unwavering gaze.
Zara got the message and calmly inquired, "How much are they?"
Before the girl could respond, a mocking voice interrupted, "Seriously? You're actually considering buying something here?"
The girl next to her chuckled sarcastically and remarked, "Exactly. Can't they tell who deserves what?"
The salesperson assisting Zara overheard this and paled in fear. She recognized the two individuals.
One was from the prestigious Davis family, known as one of the elite families in the country, while the other was from the wealthy Moore family.
Zara kept her gaze fixed on the girl in front of her, silently anticipating her response.
The girl noticed Zara's gaze and turned her head to say the price, but the girls who were standing there were aggrieved by Zara who completely ignored them as if they were air.
They walked up to Zara and positioned themselves to the side.
Upon noticing the girls, the salesperson instinctively lowered her head and politely addressed them, "Ms. Rose, Ms. Jane."
The girls paid no attention to her and glared angrily at Zara, who didn't bother to acknowledge them.
Only after, when the salesgirl finished speaking did Zara turn her head to look at the girls who were standing beside her.
One girl had on a blue short dress. Despite the classic A-line silhouette of the dress, Zara was unsure what to say when she saw a girl with a different body shape wearing it.
The other girl was in a coral fit-and-flare dress with a sweetheart neckline and cinched waist, which seemed to flatter her figure.
Zara's gaze at them only fueled the anger of the two girls. Jane, one of the girls, exclaimed angrily, "Who do you think you are to stare at us like that?"
Zara glanced up at the girl but didn't respond right away. She observed them closely and inquired, "Were you addressing me just now?"
Rose scoffed in anger, "Who else is here? We're talking about you. So what?"
Zara tilted her head and asked calmly, "I don't know you two. So what do you want?"
"What if we're strangers? It doesn't give anyone the right to purchase these jewelry pieces," Rose retorted calmly with a smirk.
Zara turned to the salesgirl, who was trembling in fear, and asked calmly, "Aren't these items available for purchase?"
The girl glanced at the two girls whose faces flushed with anger upon hearing Zara's words, then turned to Zara and nodded, "Yes, they are available for purchase."
"Just because they're for sale doesn't mean anyone can buy them. They need to have money to purchase them," Rose remarked, eyeing Zara disdainfully.
"And who's to say that this person won't cause trouble when they leave? And what if she steals something? Who will take responsibility then?" Jane chimed in alongside Rose.
Zara still hasn't taken off her mask or cap, so no one can see her face clearly, which is why everyone is inclined to believe the girls who made the statement.
Other people are starting to murmur as well.
"Hey, look at that girl. She's still wearing a cap and mask even indoors. Doesn't that seem suspicious to you?"
"Yeah, I agree. And she looks so plain, it doesn't seem like she has any money."
Before long, many comments were being made, and even people from the regular section in front joined in the commotion.
