Chapter 71 - Alan's Warning

The other three brothers simply watched as the two figures moved, shifting their gaze away from them.

Olivia, still confused and observing her brother's expressions, realized she couldn't ask her questions to any of her brothers. Even Hendry and Jack had stern looks on their faces.

So, she quietly went and sat next to Kylie. Kylie looked at Olivia and asked, "What's wrong, Olivia? Do you need something?"

Olivia looked at Kylie and asked with a slight smile, "Mom, who was that man?"

"Who? Ethan?" Kylie asked. "Yes, Mom," Olivia nodded at Kylie.

"He's Lia's fiancé. Ethan Anderson." Kylie said calmly.

Olivia's heart sank as Kylie mentioned the name "Anderson". She desperately hoped it wasn't the Anderson she was thinking of.

"What was his last name again, Mom?" Olivia asked, trying to keep her composure.

"It's Anderson," Kylie replied, pausing for a moment. "You must have heard of them, right?"

Olivia forced a smile and replied, "Yes, Mom. The wealthiest family in the world?"

Kylie gave a nod and a smile to Olivia.

But Olivia couldn't handle it and still asked with a forced smile, "But, I haven't heard that our family is well acquainted with them. And they haven't met our family even once."

"They used to come here often before Lia went abroad. After hearing about the situation that we have created, Ethan left the country and didn't return as much. And the same goes for his parents. But his grandparents would still talk with your grandparents," Kylie explained calmly.

"Ohh, it's like that. Ok, Mom," Olivia nodded and smiled at Kylie.

But deep inside her, a mountain of anger had already exploded thinking about that girl had a fiancé like Ethan who she always had her eyes on.

"Why! I can't believe everything I had is gone since that girl showed up!"

Olivia's face turned bright red with anger as she thought about it, then went pale when she thought about Ethan. She turned her head away so Kylie wouldn't see.

What Olivia didn't realize was that Noah, who had been sitting quietly, had been watching her since she asked her mom about Ethan's family.

He saw the change in her face and expression, but his own expression remained the same as he looked at her.

Olivia glanced up and found Noah's eyes fixed on her, devoid of any emotion, yet as cold as ever. However, she couldn't forget the warmth that radiated from his face when he entered with Zara, a side of him she hadn't witnessed in years.

She always assumed Noah was naturally aloof, which kept her at a distance since childhood. But witnessing his smile around Zara made her realize he was capable of warmth, just not towards everyone.

Despite her rising anger, Olivia pondered whether Noah had detected her change in demeanor and noticed her anger earlier.

Olivia felt uncomfortable under his icy stare, but she didn't want to seem suspicious, so she plastered on a fake smile and met his gaze with a look of innocence.

Noah averted his eyes when he saw her.

Exiting the mansion, Alan and Ethan made their way to his car and lingered there.

With a grin, Ethan glanced at Alan, anticipating the topic of conversation.

Alan looking at the smiling Ethan could not help but grit his teeth in anger because the person in front of him was already trying to kidnap his darling sister away as she just returned home.

"Ethan, remember your place," Alan warned sternly.

"I understand, Alan. No need to worry," Ethan replied calmly.

"I hope you know that. And you better know how important Lia is for us." "Don't you even try to harm her by any means. Otherwise, don't even think about seeing the next day alive."

Hearing Alan's warning, Ethan just nodded at him, as Alan turned and entered the house.

Seeing the disappearing figure, Ethan shook his head and settled into the car.

David, who was nearby, overheard Alan's warning but was puzzled by the situation.

Observing Ethan's silent reaction, David also got into the car and drove out of the community towards Conlor Mansion.

Glancing at his boss through the rearview mirror, he noticed how calm he remained despite the warning. Unable to contain his curiosity, he finally broke the silence and asked, "Boss, can I ask you something?"

Ethan, in a good mood, responded with a smile, "Hmm."

"Boss, why did Mr. Alan have the audacity to warn you so boldly, right in front of you?" David inquired, clearly puzzled.

"Do you even know who Alan is?" Ethan questioned. "No, Boss. But no one can hold a candle to you, Boss," David replied.

Ethan glanced at him and remarked, "Have you ever heard of AM Enterprises?" "Yes, Boss. It seems like they single-handedly built the enterprise and expanded it globally within just five years, and it's still growing. It's quite impressive, almost like a royal family business. Although, not quite on par with the Anderson family," David explained.

Ethan raised an eyebrow and asked, "Do you know who started that company?"

"No idea, Boss," David replied, puzzled by the sudden change in topic from Mr. Alan to AM Enterprises.

Then, something clicked in his mind. He glanced at the rearview mirror and asked, "Is it Mr. Alan's company?"

Ethan simply nodded, focused on his phone, and started typing.

David couldn't figure out why, but ever since he met Miss Zara, he found himself constantly surprised.

Even at this moment, considering the fact that the oldest son of the Adam family holds a business so influential that it could easily impact the GDP of numerous companies or even entire countries, not to say that he has the Adam family supporting him.

If the eldest son of the Adam family possesses such immense power, then he must not overlook the other sons of the family. If he's that formidable, he shouldn't underestimate the rest of the household.

Reflecting on this, he realized that Mr. Alan's warning wasn't just empty words. If Mr. Ethan truly did something to harm Ms. Zara, it could potentially lead to a catastrophic conflict.

He hoped and prayed that such a scenario would never come to pass, sparing him from witnessing a war unfold.

Zara was relaxing in her room at Mayledge Mansion, wearing cozy clothes after freshening up.

After freshening up, she grabbed the necklace box that Eleanor had given her from her bag and carefully stored it in the locker inside the walk-in closet. Because of this, no one knew that she had received the necklace from Eleanor.

She decided to take off the necklace in the car since she wasn't used to wearing such extravagant jewelry. She was scrolling through the messages and emails on her laptop from the day.
