Chapter 39 - The Adam Couple Pampering

David completed the required arrangements and dropped Thomas and Beau at the private terminal in the airport where the jet was waiting. After sending them off, David went back to the office and informed Ethan.

Ethan questioned David, "Are you sure, you don't have anything else to tell me?" Hearing this, David was horrified and shivered within, terrified of what would happen to him.

But he suppressed his nervousness and said, "Is there anything else, sir?" "Sir, is there anything I can do for you?" Without saying anything, Ethan waved his hand toward David. David swiftly exited the office and breathed a sigh of relief.

Ethan sensed that something was wrong with both David and his grandfather. But he didn't give it much consideration and simply assumed that as long as his grandfather didn't bother him to find him a granddaughter-in-law, everything is good.

Zara spent the whole morning in a room, where she continued to work. Andrew also decided to take a break from work and notified his third son about it. But still, he didn't mention anything about Zara to him.

So, starting today, the Adam couple will not go out under the guise of work. However, they may go out for an important gathering, if there's any.

So the Adam couple stayed in the house, and Andrew took over the kitchen today to prepare delights for his daughter, who had returned after a lengthy absence. Andrew did not let Kylie enter the kitchen since he was aware of his wife's culinary skills.

Olivia, on the other hand, was still looking forward to hearing from her two brothers. Though she waited for her brothers' response, she still had an exam the next day, so she began studying for it.

Zara strolled down to the living room after finishing her job at 1 p.m., where Kylie was bored watching television. When Zara noticed Kylie, she approached her.

When Kylie spotted her kid come towards her, she smiled. "Lia! Come here." Kylie called as she waved her hand and motioned for Zara to come over.

"Why are you alone, Mom? Where is Dad?" Zara inquired as she sat next to Kylie on the couch. Kylie shifted her focus to the kitchen and continued, "Your Dad wanted to prepare delights for you to enjoy. He did not even let me in."

"It's already past 12, you two still did not have lunch?" Zara glanced at Kylie and inquired. "We were waiting for you and also it seems your dad needs some time to make the dishes," Kylie replied with a smile.

As they talked, Andrew walked out of the kitchen and looked at the two figures talking in the living room. He called out to them and said happily, "Honey, come. Baby, come. Today it's going to be a feast done by your father."

Kylie and Zara chuckled as they rose from the couch. Kylie turned to Ava and said, "Ava, go call Olivia down for lunch." "Ok, Madam." Ava nodded and went to find Olivia.

Kylie and Zara came into the dining area and noticed the table laden with delights. "Honey, it seems your complete culinary skills came out because of Lia," Kylie spoke as she sat in her seat.

"Of course!" Andrew enthusiastically replied as he sat down. Zara sat, looking at the table full of food, the majority of which she enjoyed.

At this point, Ava entered the dining room, stood next to Kylie, and said, "Madam, Ms. Olivia stated that she still needs to study and will have lunch later." Kylie looked at the clock and told Ava, "Then bring some dishes to her room and let her eat some before she continues her studies." "Ok, Madam."

"Dad, I heard you've decided to take a total sabbatical from work," Zara spoke as she looked at Andrew.

Andrew stared at his daughter, whom he knew very well. Even though he and his wife considered her as a kid, she was an adult, and he was fully aware of his daughter's capabilities. It's not easy to keep anything from his keen kid.

So he simply grinned and replied, "Yeah, now that you're back. Why do I have to spend my time at the workplace instead of being with you and your mother?"

The family does not strictly enforce the norm of not conversing during meals. They are easygoing folks who don't impose too many regulations on their children when they are at home. They simply wanted their children to feel at home and be comfortable in their own place.

After having lunch, Zara didn't go straight back to her room, instead, she sat with her parents in the living hall.

"Lia, I heard from Uncle Michael that you learned a lot from each of them and are an expert in those areas." "You didn't tell us anything about this for years. It appears that sending you to Laurania was a wise option." Kylie spoke while holding her daughter's hands.

Zara replied softly, "It was good, Mom." "I also didn't expect to learn so much from Grandpa."

"So, it means they didn't leave anything for us to teach our daughter. They taught our daughter everything it seems." Andrew said as he smiled at his wife.

"So, Lia. You are sitting at home all day. Are you not planning on going out?" Andrew questioned his daughter.

"Dad, I had some work. I'm also planning to go outside. But first, I want to finish some work. So I may be free later. It's been so long since I returned. I'd also want to look at the locations." Zara spoke as she looked at her Dad.

"Just let us know if you need anything. If you have any difficulties, please do not hide them from us. We'll help you with it." Kylie said, smiling at her daughter. Kylie stared at Andrew and pointed with her eyes.

Andrew realized what she was saying and promptly took out a card from his wallet. He then handed the card to Zara, who was sitting on the sofa opposite him, and said, "Lia, use this card and enjoy it as much as you like."

"Yes, Lia. I heard from your father that you aren't spending the money we provided you. It's not like you need to save us money. Enjoy the money we offer you, and if you need more, let me know." Kylie added, smiling.

Zara thought of returning the card, but Kylie told her, "You're not permitted to return the card to us. Even if you return the card, the funds will be sent to your account," knowing what her daughter wanted to do.

Zara's idea of returning the card was stopped there after hearing the words. She knew that she couldn't win with her parents, so she simply had other plans to do with the card.
