Chapter 40 - Hendry And John's Return

After chatting with her folks, Zara headed back to her room and started painting in her art space. Olivia, on the other hand, stayed cooped up in her room all day long.

She had to hit the books and didn't want to see her parents favoring Zara over her. So, she simply stayed put in her room, occasionally glancing at her phone to check for any texts from her two brothers.

Gia also kept Olivia in the dark about Andrew's lunch preparations, fearing her anger and distress. As a result, Olivia remained oblivious to the fact that Andrew had personally cooked the meal for Zara.

Around 5:30 in the evening, two cars pulled up at the mansion's entrance. Shortly after, two individuals stepped out of each vehicle, exuding an air of superiority.

Jack and Hendry, the second and third young masters of the Adam family's second branch, are the two figures in question. Hendry, as expected by the family, accomplished his doctorate and master's degrees and went on to become a renowned neurosurgeon at a remarkably young age.

On the other hand, Jack decided to follow the path of his family and pursued business studies. Eventually, he took charge of the Adam family business and proved to be equally triumphant. His exceptional vision and open-mindedness as the CEO earned him numerous accolades.

Jack looked sharp in a crisp white shirt paired with a black pullover and dark jeans. Completing his look with a sleek watch and polished black shoes, he exuded style effortlessly.

Standing tall at around five feet nine, Jack effortlessly blended sophistication with a laid-back charm. His friendly face held a hint of mischief, adding to his undeniable appeal. They seemed like young minds enjoying their freedom.

On the other hand, Hendry sported a white sweater, cream pants, and a trench coat. Despite the casual vibe, the high-quality material hinted at luxury. Similar in height to Jack, Hendry stood just a tad taller, creating a subtle distinction between the two.

As he walked, he exuded a timeless charm. His gaze, though, carried a distinct air of maturity and confidence compared to Jack's. Both Jack and Hendry possessed almond-shaped eyes that conveyed authority.

Because almond-shaped eyes ran in the Adam family, they had a certain advantage. The majority of family members shared this characteristic.

With a cold demeanor, they made their way to the door. Upon entering the house, the servants welcomed them warmly.

They wordlessly strode to the living hall and assertively took a seat on the couch. As the servants whispered outside, Ava emerged from the kitchen and gazed towards the source of their murmurs.

When she laid eyes on the two figures, sitting all fancy-like and oozing confidence, it threw her for a loop. However, she managed to keep her calm and made her way over to them. It ain't like Jack and Hendry were terrifying or anything. Nah, it was the other two brothers that were giving off some serious spooky vibes...

She was scared, not because of who they were, but because Madam had told them not to tell the young masters that Ms. Zara had come back. And now they're just chilling in the living room.

She strolled over to them and positioned herself next to the couch where they were seated. With a slight smile and a small bow, she greeted them in a respectful tone, saying, "Good evening, Second Young Master and Third Young Master."

Ava couldn't shake off a sense of unease in her heart as she observed their expressions. However, she quickly brushed aside that thought since Madam and Master were present, especially Ms. Zara.

"Good evening, Ava!" both Jack and Hendry greeted cheerfully. However, their smiles sent a shiver down Ava's spine. Gathering herself, she responded, "I'll go fetch some drinks for you, Young Masters. Ava was all set to dash off in service of the Young Master, but unfortunately, her luck took a nosedive when Hendry called out, "Hold up, Ava!" Ava found herself without any other choice but to remain in her current position. She gazed in Hendry's direction and, with a faint smile, queried in a respectful tone, "Second Master, is there anything I can assist you with?"

"Ava, what do you say we make it a point to visit home often? That way, everyone will know we're also part of the family!" Jack glanced up at Ava, a playful grin on his face.

Ava sensed that there was something not quite right about Mr. Jack's question, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. Nevertheless, she had a hunch that it had to do with Ms. Zara's comeback.

She offered a warm smile and politely stated, "Third Young Master, as this is your esteemed residence, Master and Madam will certainly appreciate your frequent presence." "But, in my opinion, Ava, it appears that they are no longer welcoming our presence," Jack stated. "How is that possible, Young Master?

"Ava, can you call Mom and Dad?" Hendry without encouraging Jack to speak gave him a gaze and said to Ava. "Sure, Second Young Master."

Ava quickly made her way to Andrew's office and gently tapped on the door. "Come in," Kylie warmly said as she glanced up and noticed Ava's presence.

"What's up, Ava?" "Well, Madam, the second young master, and third young master have returned," Ava said, her face filled with mixed emotions. "No way!" Kylie exclaimed, completely taken aback by the news of her two sons' arrival.

"Why are they here?" Kylie anyhow calmed down and asked as she looked at her husband.

"Honey, don't look at me like that. You know I won't call them here when Lia's here." Andrew quickly gave a clarification so that he wouldn't get on his wife's bad side.

"Honey, don't give me that look. You know I won't bring them over while Lia is here," Andrew reassured his wife, wanting to avoid any conflict.

"Plus, they haven't even bothered to talk to our baby until now for some time. Do you really think I'll invite them over? No way!" Kylie understood from his words that her husband had no intention of informing their sons either.

Even though the family adored their sons, it was nothing compared to the way they spoiled their daughter. Their daughter was their top priority, especially for Andrew who cherished her like a precious gem.

Kylie glanced at Ava and instructed, "Ava, please get started on dinner. We'll be down shortly." "Sure, Madam." Ava nodded and headed downstairs to inform the brothers before making her way to the kitchen.

In Olivia's room, Gia was quick to notice the return of the second and third young masters. She hurried to inform Olivia about it while Ava went to fetch the master.

"Young Miss, the second and third young masters are back. And it looks like they're not in the best mood," Gia said, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

Upon hearing this, Olivia's face lit up with joy as she leaped out of her seat and exclaimed, "That's fantastic! They arrived just in the nick of time. Starting tomorrow, I can once again be the carefree young lady of the Adam family, showered with love and attention from my family."

"Absolutely, Young Miss. Congratulations!" "Come on, let's quickly go downstairs and find out what's happening." Olivia said, slipping on her shoes and dashing towards the door.
