Aldric stared, like a deer caught in headlights. He had never cleared a dungeon before, so he was blatantly unaware that it would completely out him like this. At this point, there were few lies he could tell to evade being accused of illegal dungeon entry.
However, the man's words had laid forth an idea. Taking everything into account, it seemed, as the armored man had said—the dungeon had been labeled dangerous and most likely far surpassed its originally assigned rank. This probably led a higher-level guild to buy and attempt it.
Yet, these higher-level guild members had also failed at clearing it, considering the fresh bodies Aldric had seen in the temple. The fact that the Knight commended them meant they were quite formidable. If this strong group failed to clear it but Aldric accomplished this alone, they would assume he was even stronger than their perished guild members.
