Chapter 2 - Chapter 2- foe

Mechelle's POV

"Why are you being so mysterious, Morris? Don't scare me, okay?" I asked, lightly biting my lip and furrowing my brows.

Morris opened the safe in the study and took out a simple platinum necklace. Hanging from the necklace was a small key, with a few numbers engraved on the other side of the key, which wasn't visible unless you looked closely.

"Mechelle, this is a token of affection between Morris and Mom. Now, Morris is entrusting it to you. No matter what happens, you must keep it safe, understand?"

I took the necklace, looking at my father with some suspicion. "Morris, why are you giving it to me?"

"Don't ask too many questions. Someday you will know, but now is not the time." Morris affectionately tousled my hair and smiled, saying, "Mechelle, if there comes a day when I'm not by your side, you must take care of yourself, no matter what happens, you must keep living well."

"Morris, why are you saying this?" I asked, puzzled.

At that moment, I had no idea that soon, my fate would take a drastic turn...

Morris Diaz didn't answer my question, instead saying, "Mechelle, there's something Morris needs to tell you. There's been a slight problem with the pack, for your safety, tomorrow morning Morris will take you to a friend's house to stay for a while. Once things are sorted out, I'll come get you."

"Is it serious?" I asked, worried.

"Don't worry! Everything will be fine," Morris Diaz said, smiling without a hint of worry showing in his eyes.

That night, I didn't sleep well, constantly dreaming. I, who had never even had a boyfriend, somehow saw a scene from a bloody action movie, and even kissed...

In my mind, there was a cold, stern face, not of joy, but of fear. His sinister and indifferent gaze made me feel a fear I had never experienced before.

The next day, the weather was fine.

At the intersection of RED BLOOD PACK, there was a hundred-meter-long avenue leading to the gate of the villa. A magnificent European-style villa with a private garden and swimming pool, and two lazy German shepherds lying at the gate, looking fierce as if they could pounce on prey at any moment.

"Mechelle, this is Morris's good friend, Daniel Duncan. You can call him Elder Daniel." Morris introduced with a smile.

"Hello, Elder Daniel," I greeted politely.

"Mechelle, Morris and I are good friends, and I've heard about his situation. From now on, consider this place your own home. If you need anything, just tell Elder Daniel directly."

Daniel Duncan was six or seven years older than Morris, but he didn't look a day older.

"Thank you, Elder Daniel," I said, feeling a bit awkward in this completely unfamiliar environment.

"Big brother, I'm causing you trouble, I apologize," Morris said, trying to be pleasing.

"No trouble at all, it's just a small matter," Daniel Duncan waved off the concern and called the butler of the villa over, "Nanny, take Miss Diaz upstairs to rest!"

"Yes, sir," the nanny replied respectfully, then turned to me, lifting my luggage, "Miss Diaz, please follow me upstairs."

"Thank you," I glanced at Morris again, feeling somewhat uneasy, pouting, my eyes reddening, "Morris, if you don't come to pick me up in a few days, I'll go back by myself."

"Morris will definitely come to pick you up," Morris smiled, "Mechelle is still young, there are some things she doesn't understand, please educate her more."

Daniel Duncan smiled faintly, a hint of peculiar emotion flashing in his eyes, saying, "Morris, look at you, what are you saying? Whatever you say, I'll do. I'm already this old, even if it's a fake marriage, it's still unfair to Mechelle."

"No, no, I'm the one causing you trouble," Morris chuckled, "I'll leave now, there's still a lot for me to do in the pack."

"Alright, rest assured! I'll take care of Mechelle," Daniel Duncan escorted Morris all the way to the gate, a sneer playing at the corner of his mouth.

Meanwhile, I had already finished organizing my luggage.

The nanny glanced at me, reminding, "Miss Mechelle, the room next to yours is occupied by Alpha. He usually stays at home a few nights a month, but Alpha dislikes people entering his room..."

"Don't worry, Nanny, I won't wander around," I quickly reassured.

The nanny smiled and said, "If there's nothing else, I'll go attend to other matters."

"Thank you," I immediately locked the door, threw myself onto the soft bed, and sighed deeply. Morris, you must come to pick me up soon.

It wasn't until dinner time, when I heard the rhythmic three knocks on the door, that I woke up groggily.

"Miss Mechelle, it's time for dinner," came Nanny's voice from outside the door.

I immediately sat up from the bed, straightened my clothes, and hurried into the bathroom to wash my face. Then I walked over and opened the door, apologizing, "Nanny, I'm sorry, I fell asleep."

"It's okay. Oh, by the way, Alpha came back this morning and has been here the whole time. You'll be having dinner together. Alpha doesn't like people talking during meals, so Miss Mechelle, just be mindful," Nanny cautioned, afraid I might upset Alpha.

"I understand," I pressed my lips together, feeling a bit uneasy. Nanny had often mentioned this Alpha, and he didn't seem easy to get along with. I forced a smile and followed Nanny out of the room.

I never expected that the Alpha Nanny referred to would turn out to be the man I saw in the presidential suite yesterday. My body stiffened slightly, and I unconsciously slowed my pace. I was afraid, the voice that seemed to come from hell echoed in my ears again—

"Damn woman, don't let me see you again, or you'll die miserably!"

"Miss Mechelle, what's wrong with you? You don't look too good," Nanny asked, concerned, noticing my change in demeanor.

"I, I'm fine," I tried hard to calm myself down, but my heart was pounding wildly, almost as if it was about to jump out of my throat.

The man sitting at the dining table heard the commotion and swiftly turned his head, casting a quick glance towards me standing at the staircase. His brow furrowed involuntarily, a glint of sinister light flashed across his eyes, and a playful smirk played at the corner of his mouth.
