Kacchan's POV
"Summer sports festival," Aizawa Sensei announced and the rest of class started cheering while Toshi, Deku and I slouched in our seats.
"Well that's a surprise I thought for sure you three would be the most excited," Aizawa commented after getting the class to quiet down again.
"It's not like we'll be allowed to participate anyway," Toshi grumbled and I turned enough to see Deku nodding in agreement.
"The sons of All Might, if we lose we are a disappointment to the number one hero but if we win we cheated because of who our father is," I answered Aizawa Sensei's unasked question. "Damned if we do, damned if we don't," I added almost as an afterthought. I heard Deku and Toshi murmured their agreement but the rest of the class just stared at us. As if the thought never occurred to them in the first place and it probably didn't.
"We are used to having to sit it out, it's okay," Deku announced like it wasn't that big a deal but anyone could hear how flat his voice was if they had ever heard him talk before.
"You're not sitting out," I'm pretty sure that my head wasn't the only one that snapped back up when Uncle walked in with Nezu again. We waited for him to go on, not believing him. Last time he said that we were disqualified after winning first place and Deku wasn't shy about bringing it up.
Nezu started cackling at that bit of information. "No need to worry about that, if we disqualified you we would have to disqualify all the students with hero parents including young Todoroki who is Endeavor's son."
"How can-" Toshi started to ask but he cut himself off and I finished for him.
"How can we believe you? This isn't the first time the principal swore the same thing," I glared at the rodent. Of course the first time around there wasn't any issues at all but then again I was the one that won and Icyhot came in like second or third or something and he WAS talked down on for being a disappointment by the public and pro heroes alike. So I call bullshit. It also didn't escape my attention that Aizawa Sensei was staring at Toshi after he stopped asking his question midway through.
"Why didn't you finish your question?" He asked, not letting Nezu answer mine first.
"I am aware that my quirk makes people uncomfortable," Toshi answered quickly, looking down. Our teacher didn't blink but kept staring at him for a while so I decided to interrupt.
"Oi, my question?" I got his attention again but everyone kept looking at Toshi so I set off a small explosion in my hand to show that I was getting irritated.
"Katsuki, he has put it into writing that all students will be allowed to participate, even if they have a hero license already," Uncle smiled at us and set the class off murmuring amongst themselves. "The only thing that will be regulated is that the students will remain within their years so third year students will stay with third year students and so on."
It took a few seconds but then we were celebrating too. Finally! We'll be allowed to really let loose for once!
***
It's been three weeks since the announcement and the festival is quickly approaching. One more month and then we'll finally be able to show the world exactly what we are capable of!
We were in class listening to Present Mic talk about Shakespeare when suddenly all three of our pagers went off, silencing our teacher for only a second until he realized what the pagers were for. We checked them only to see that there was a villain terrorist attack on four different planes. They need heroes that could not only get up there and control the situation but someone who could fly and land the planes too.
"BOYS!" Uncle came running in just as Deku and I finished opening the window after verifying that the planes that we could see from here were actually the ones we were expected to save.
"Working on it!" I yelled before checking again. "I'll take the blue one," I claimed but it was Toshi that stepped up first.
"Looks like I'm going to Russia then," he winked before letting his purple energy coat himself, his purple black skin like suit covering his uniform now. He jumped out before basically launching himself into the air toward the red plane. It took a while, waiting for him to get far enough away that we wouldn't interfere with his jump before Deku stepped up. Uncle rushed over joining us in ignoring the rest of our class as they shouted out questions.
"What the hell?" Aizawa Sensei woke up demanding answers but we just don't have time for any of that right now.
"Hawaii, meet you there Kacchan!" Deku grinned his green energy crackling around him and he actually had to jump down to the ground before launching himself into the air at the white plane.
"Why do you three hate France so much?" Uncle groaned, making me laugh.
"You need to ask? You know, I'm sure as fuck not going to France again if I can help it," I smirked at him only for him to sigh before I took to the air, my explosions steadying me as I got closer and closer to the blue plane.
It wasn't until the plane got close that it felt like I had to actually fight the air pressure around me in order to get close to the door and once I was inside I retracted the suit leaving me in just my school uniform. Time to fuck someone up.
"Oi kid! Where in the fuck were you hiding?" I turned to find someone holding a gun, oh I'm really going to fuck someone up.
