Chapter 1 - Colin

The university exam has ended. But contrary to the excitement or relief of the people around him, Colin had an extremely depressed mood.

Whether it was literature or mathematics, he only did sporadically and incompletely, it could be said that it was difficult to get high scores. It would be nice if there were gifted subjects to compensate for it, but he has no talent.

Of course, he can still get into some university. but without the scholarship, the tuition would crush Colin's dire situation.

"Colin."

Hearing a familiar voice calling him, Colin turned his head, disgust flashing in his eyes. His tone also became impatient.

"What?'

"I just wanted to ask how your test was. Anyway, this test is too simple."

Jenny said, not caring about Colin's hateful eyes. This person is his classmate, also a near neighbor, but the relationship between the two is not good at all.

Obviously, this is a mean girl.

"Take care of yourself first."

"I just hope you have a little good result. But looking at your face, that seems a bit far-fetched, doesn't it? Ha ha..."

Jenny covered her mouth and laughed, her voice filled with sarcasm. Colin didn't pay attention to her anymore, turned around and walked straight.

Actually, their relationship before was not that bad, after all, they were neighbors who had known each other for a long time. Since they were both young, Jenny had always bragged about this and that to prove her superiority, but Colin didn't really care. Until two years ago, a few thugs tried to flirt with Jenny but she refused, so they started harassing her. Every day, they block the school door, making it difficult for Jenny to go home.

In that situation, she asked Colin for help. Leading to both sides arguing, eventually fighting.

Later, the thugs' parents came to the school and made a fuss, forcing the school to expel him. Colin of course could not accept such a result, wanting Jenny to prove that they acted first and he was only defending himself. Unfortunately, this evil girl betrayed him. Not only did he not help him, but he also accused him of being the one who started the conflict first.

In the end, it was his father who compensated him and apologized to many places to help him keep his student status. But he was also delayed for a whole month without going to class, making his already not very good grades directly turn into poor.

Colin sighed heavily, seeing his father in the distance.

"How was the test?"

"It's... okay..."

Seeing his son's emotions plummet, his father did not pursue the matter further. Doing so would only embarrass Colin, and he himself would be ashamed.

Both of them got on the bus and returned home in silence.

On the way, even though father and son were sitting next to each other, no one said a word to the other. Colin also wanted to open his mouth, but his voice could not escape his throat. He could feel the disappointment coming from his father, after all, other people's children are so excellent, but our own children are so inferior.

Colin thought, if he failed the exam this time, then he wouldn't go to college anymore.

He looked out the window, his mind gradually becoming calmer. Only, Colin saw a funeral vehicle not far from the bus.

He just glanced at it and didn't pay much attention. Until the bus was about to pass the hearse, Colin's heart suddenly slowed down a beat. Because he saw that the hearse's trunk suddenly separated, and the coffin inside fell down. The lid lifted up, revealing the body placed inside. The body's eyes opened wide, staring at the approaching bus.

The rest of the people in the car, including his father, seemed to pay no attention to the anomaly that had just happened right next to them, continuing to either sleep, surf the internet on their phones, or chat. together.

Only Colin's face was pale, he felt like a whole colony of ants were crawling inside his skin. His hair stood on end, and even breathing out through his lungs became extremely difficult.

"Dad, we have to get off the bus now!"

"Has the bus arrived at the station?"

"No… but I feel like this bus is not safe."

"What are you talking about, Colin? Public buses are not safe?"

"I… I can explain!"

"Don't get excited Colin, we're almost home."

His father also didn't care what danger he was talking about. Colin's heart was as anxious as fire, but for the moment there was no way to do it. He could only sit still, looking out from time to time worriedly. outside.

Time passed again, and Colin gradually calmed down, because during this time, nothing really happened. He thought that maybe he was just too stressed and was becoming paranoid when suddenly...

The bus that was moving leisurely stopped suddenly, causing everyone to lean forward slightly.

The driver let out a scream of terror, and the passengers in the car were also startled by the scream.

Everyone heard an extremely loud collision sound in front of the car. The driver must have hit something so he braked suddenly to stop.

The driver quickly got out of the car, and a number of curious passengers also got out of their seats and looked outside, including Colin. For some reason, his mind began to stir restlessly, as if something very, very bad was about to happen.

Through a corner, Colin saw the driver constantly asking after an old woman.

"Grandma, are you okay? Do you need me to call for help?"

The driver spoke very urgently, it was obvious that he was also scared. If he stabbed someone here, he feared that his career would be over.

Contrary to the driver's reaction, the old woman was extremely calm, and didn't even look like someone who had been in an accident. Just told the driver that although she was okay, she had trouble walking and wanted to ask the driver to help her into the bus.

But when the old woman's face appeared inside, Colin almost cried out.

Because you've seen this person before.

A few minutes ago, the body in the coffin was even staring at the bus.

Colin for a moment couldn't even trust his own eyes, however, his memories didn't lie. The body in the coffin before was the old woman being helped up by the driver.

Regardless of whether it was about ghosts or the resurrection of the dead, Colin did not dare to think about it. He quickly pulled his father up and wanted to take him off the bus.

His father looked extremely puzzled, but feeling the strength of Colin's grip and his troubled mood, he could only let him pull him down.

At the same time, the driver and the old woman also went up. As the two of them passed each other, Colin heard a sentence that he would never forget for the rest of his life.

"Boy, have we met before?"

Colin just felt like his back was cold, he didn't even dare to think, he bent down and walked straight without turning around at all. It's just that, if he turned back to observe at this moment, he could see this old woman's pupils rotating at an extremely strange angle, staring at him.

Fortunately, until both Colin's father got out of the car, nothing happened.

When Colin raised his head, he just happened to see the old woman. Whether by accident or on purpose, she had sat in his previous seat, and was observing him in the car the same way. he observed her earlier.

It wasn't until the bus left. Colin's father angrily questioned his son.

"Do you have a problem with your mind? If you don't want to sit in the car, you'll have to drag us down here. Do you want us to walk home?"

"Dad, there's a devil inside!"

"You stop for me right now!"

He wanted to say something more, but seeing his son's agitated state, he ended up just sighing. Melancholy, he took out a cigarette to smoke temporarily, now both of them could only wait for the next bus or go for a ride with someone.

Colin on the side didn't have to explain anything anymore, as long as he didn't continue to be in the same place as that strange old woman, then anything was fine.

The two continued to wait for more than half an hour, until it was almost dark when a private car gave them a ride home.

After a while of the car ride, Colin's anxiety finally had an answer.

He saw the bus parked on the side of the road again, the bus was quiet as if there was no one left, it seemed like there was only an empty vehicle left here. Because the lighting wasn't very good, Colin could barely see the scene inside clearly, but he could still see the faint trace of something splashing on the glass window.

Looking a little closer, the car didn't seem to be completely empty, but there was a vague figure standing in the middle of the car.

Colin shrank his neck, afraid to continue looking. The car owner and his father were chatting, not paying attention to the bus they just passed.
