The car gradually drove out of the crowded and bustling area, towards a deserted area, causing Colin to gradually become nervous.
Even though the possibility of this being a robbery wasn't very high, because he was just a poor student with little money, Colin was still instinctively worried.
Luckily, Colin quickly saw a large, university-like structure in front of his eyes. This made him breathe a sigh of relief.
The car quickly drove into the school yard, but the feeling it brought was like entering a town in the heart of the city.
This is not strange at all, because this place is actually too big, with all kinds of architecture of different sizes scattered everywhere. The only thing that didn't fit was that Colin didn't see anyone here, it was as if he and the driver only existed.
"Dear Sir? Why is this place so… deserted?"
"Class hasn't started yet, only new students are coming in."
The driver explained vaguely. Then signaled to Colin that he could get out of the car. After taking out his luggage, he saw the only people there except himself and the man in the car.
"I'm the person in charge of accepting new students, will there be any problems with the trip?"
"Ah no, no. Thank you for your concern, professor."
"What's your name?"
"Colin."
"Okay Colin, follow me."
The man led the way in front, Colin followed behind. The two of them would occasionally talk back and forth. Compared to the cold driver, this professor was much more relaxed and very patient when answering Colin's doubts.
According to this person, the location they were going to was not a normal dormitory in Colin's imagination, but a huge hotel. This hotel is only open within the university, providing accommodation for new students until the opening ceremony is completed. Of course, it's free.
"This is your room key, don't lose it. Dinner will be served for free on the first floor, there will be a reminder notice at the beginning."
"If it's not urgent, it's best not to go out at night. After all, this place is very large, it's easy to get lost, and then it might cause delays for tomorrow's entrance exam. You better rest soon."
"Everything in the room is provided for free, please enjoy."
After giving Colin a few words, the professor quickly left. It seemed like he was busy welcoming others like him.
But Colin's focus is not on this, but on the "admission exam".
"After enrolling, there are still exams?"
He didn't think about this at all. His heart immediately became uncertain. But then he thought about it again and again and could only go along with it. After all, he had already come to this place, and now he couldn't change anything.
Colin's room is on the fourth floor of the hotel. When he opened the door, what was reflected in Colin's eyes was a luxurious room with full amenities, which even had a separate kitchen. Not so much like a hotel just for sleeping overnight, but more like an apartment.
After packing, Colin wanted to call his father to tell the news. But the signal here seems to have disappeared. Not only can he make calls, he can't even go online. So Colin could only throw the phone aside, lie still, and unconsciously fell asleep.
Finally, the announcement for dinner service rang out, waking Colin from his sleep. He yawned, quickly washed his face with water and then went outside.
Once out the door, Colin met someone on the opposite side of his room. It was a teenager who didn't seem to be very tall, only reaching his shoulder height. This person's expression was very cold, as if the words "unfriendly" were written all over his face.
Colin wanted to ask if he was a new student like him, but couldn't say it.
The two entered the elevator together, the atmosphere still very awkward.
Just as the elevator door was about to close, a scream was heard outside.
"Hey, wait, over there, let me in at the elevator!"
Both Colin and the teenager heard it, but it seemed like the other teenager didn't care and directly pressed the button to close the elevator door. Causing Colin to be dissatisfied.
"There are still people outside."
The teenager did not answer, treating Colin's words as if they did not exist. In reluctance, Colin could only put his hand out to block the elevator door, making it no longer close.
Seeing this action, the short teenager frowned in discomfort.
"Meddler."
This time, Colin followed the teenager's example, not bothering to react to the other person's words. This made the teenager's face even more vicious, but in the end he did nothing.
The person who called just now finally entered the elevator.
It was a person with a physique quite similar to Colin's, long light blonde hair combined with a romantic face, making this person look like someone working in the field of art.
"Thank God."
"Just now I was in a hurry to go to the bathroom. I was about to run out but I remembered that I forgot to wipe my butt, so I had to turn back."
The young blond man spoke and laughed. Even though the topic was a bit unhygienic, he was still much more approachable than that cold teenager. Colin also smiled back.
"Are you also a new student at this university?"
"No, I'm a cleaning lady."
A silence occurred in the elevator.
"Ha ha, I'm just joking, we're the same. But why does this place even have a little friend like this?"
"Silly."
The teenager glanced his sharp eyes at the blonde hair. As soon as the elevator door opened, he walked away without looking back once.
"What a fierce personality."
Blond hair exclaimed, then naturally put his arm around Colin's shoulder.
"Dude, do you want to come along?"
Colin nodded. Although this guy is a bit annoying, he doesn't seem to have a bad personality and can be friends. Colin also wants to change his way of life from now on, because of Jenny, he hasn't had a single friend in the past two years. From now on, he wants to live a life worth living.
Besides, in a strange place like this, having a friend to talk to is also a good thing.
At this time, several hundred people had gathered in the large dining room on the first floor. They are all young people like Colin. Food was spread out on large trays, Colin took a tray for himself, the blond boy ran away to find a drink.
While he was still thinking about what to eat, a surprised voice rang out from behind, causing Colin to unconsciously turn his head.
"Colin?"
"Jenny?"
Colin was also very surprised, but then calmed down.
"Why are you here?"
"Why can't I be here?"
"You're here to serve? Oh my god…."
Colin also didn't want to continue wasting time arguing with this mean girl, so he took the admission notice and held it in front of Jenny.
"See anything here?"
"No... not possible..."
Jenny looked at the paper carefully with an incredulous expression. She saw no trace of forgery at all, but still spoke stubbornly.
"Perhaps the management made a mistake somewhere... this cannot happen."
"Believe it or not is up to you."
Colin paid no attention to Jenny, his eyes returned to the pile of food.
Compared to her ugly face, these delicious things were much more attractive to him.
Waiting for Jenny to leave angrily, the blonde-haired young man secretly approached Colin with two bottles of wine.
"Good buddy, just arrived and there's a girl already."
"Just an acquaintance."
Colin is not used to speaking ill of others. He thinks that if he did, he would be no different from Jenny.
Seeing that Colin didn't want to say anything, the blonde young man didn't continue the topic about Jenny anymore. He put his arm around Colin's shoulder and slipped him a bottle of wine.
Both of them found a place to sit, two bottles of wine clinking together.
The guy introduced himself as Matthew. Like Colin, he did not pass the entrance exam through normal academic achievements but rather belongs to the case of "special talent".
But Matthew is different from Colin in one way: he studies very well, but is not interested in studying. Matthew wanted to become a stylist and had previously worked as an assistant for famous stylists. He wants to create a work of a lifetime, and then become famous.
Although Colin nodded, in his heart he was also half convinced and half doubtful.
After eating and drinking, Colin and Matthew separated and returned to their separate rooms.
Confirming there was no siren from the haunted bus, Colin peacefully laid down on the bed and fell into a beautiful dream. He wanted his condition to be the best before tomorrow's test, no matter what it was. How could things get any worse?
