Everybody went silent. Xandra's words were like a flashbang that immediately sent everyone into confusion. They were speechless. They were shell-shocked. They were tongue-tied, dumbfounded, flabbergasted, stunned, and any other synonyms to describe everyone's current reaction.
Did they hear her right? Did she just say that she was going to go on a date? Worse than that, she was going on a date with this unknown dude. Even Sam couldn't help but look at Xandra's finger to make sure that she was pointing at Patty. Nobody could believe that Xandra, the most beautiful girl that they had ever seen, was going on a date with a nobody like Patty.
Even Patty himself was left slack-jawed when he heard what Xandra said. They didn't know each other, they barely even interacted earlier, but somehow, she decided that they were going on a date together? Was she in her right mind?!
And the worst part about it was that he couldn't say no. He literally couldn't say no. He would die if he refused her request.
And when he thought about it some more, wasn't it the best excuse he could say to Sam so that he wouldn't be pestering him about joining the Ruobber Company anymore? If he were to say to Sam that he was busy with a date with Xandra, then he would have to accept that excuse. After all, Xandra herself already admitted to everyone that they were going on a date.
"Yeah…we're going on a date. Bella and I are going on a date."
"Xandra," she repeated.
"Right, Xandra and I will be going on a date."
Some of the mean girls seemed to have fainted when they heard Xandra confirm their date. They thought that they were in a dream but no matter how hard they tried to wake up, they were still stuck in this nightmare. How could a beautiful and regal girl like Xandra end up with a nobody guy like Patty? He wasn't even that handsome! He didn't even know what fashion looked like!
No matter how much they looked at Patty, all they could see was a lazy bum who didn't have an inch of social life. He didn't wear any rich clothes, just a plain white shirt and shorts. He didn't wear any expensive jewelry or branded clothes. They could pick out anyone from the street and find someone much more sophisticated than him! How could Patty even get the chance to ask out Xandra on a date?
"I don't believe it," Beatrice said with suspicion. "The two of you are going on a date? You guys didn't even know each other."
Xandra started sweating. "Of course, we knew each other. I only acted like I didn't know him because we were keeping our date a secret, right, Patty?"
Patty nodded like a robot. "Yes. We wanted to keep it a secret. Yes."
"See?" Xandra looked at Beatrice.
But despite their lies, Beatrice wasn't convinced. She didn't believe that a woman like Xandra would end up with a guy like Patty. They were from completely different worlds. Xandra was like royalty that only socialized with people whose net worth was in the billions. Aside from being in her castle and going to school, Xandra was accompanied by her bodyguard who didn't allow anyone to come close to her.
Beatrice didn't know how two people from opposite worlds even ended up on a date together.
Even Sam was suspicious. Patty was always in his house, being lazy. There was no way that he would meet such a high-class lady out of the blue. Not only that, he was able to sneak past her security and even ask her out on a date. That was perhaps more surprising than Xandra agreeing to a date. Sam didn't believe that Patty would voluntarily want to go out of his house and hang out in a busy place on a date.
"This must be a trick!" said one of the mean girls. "He must have put some love potion in her drink. Why else would Xandra agree to a date with this…with this…dirty boy!"
Everyone looked at Xandra and Patty to see their answer. If they were telling the truth, then their answer should be the same. Of course, both of them were lying through their teeth, and the problem with that was they didn't plan out an excuse that both of them could agree on.
"Hey, my friend right here might be a bit lazy, but he is one upstanding guy. Any girl would be lucky to have him, even a girl like Xandra." Sam defended Patty from the girl's mean words. He knew that Patty had some good points about him, and it could definitely enchant a girl like Xandra. He didn't doubt that. He only doubted Patty actually wanted to go on a date. He was too lazy for that.
"Are you telling me that Xandra was the one who asked him out on a date? Keep dreaming. He's the one who asked you out, right Xandra?" one of the mean girls asked.
Of course, to prevent anyone from thinking that they were lying, she said, "Yes. I was the one who asked him out."
Everyone turned to look at Patty to see if she was telling the truth. Since Patty was still held under the threat of death, he had no choice but to agree with everything she said.
"Right. Yes," Patty answered robotically once again.
The mean girls once again fainted when they heard the 'truth'. Their hearts couldn't take it and the perfect image of 'Xandra', the idealized version of her that they had in their minds was shattered into a million pieces like glass falling from a building. How did this become a reality, they wondered.
"But how did Patty say yes?" Sam wondered. "How did you get him to leave his house? Everyone who knew him knew that he would never leave his house if he didn't have to. He would always want to stay at home and lay on his bed?"
"Oh, my supremes! He's a lazy bum! Oh, the humanity!" the mean girls screamed out. It turned out that Patty was one of those guys who just leech off their girlfriends and never want to achieve anything by themselves. They couldn't believe that Xandra would let such a guy like Patty use her for her money!
But with Beatrice and Sam both looking ready to suss out their lies, Xandra felt like she had no other choice. She had to make their lie believable.
"Who said our date has to be outside?"
Xandra dropped another bombshell. If her previous revelation was like a nuclear bomb, then this one must be an apocalyptic meteor that was the same size as the world itself. All of their thoughts just died when they tried to picture what Xandra and Patty would try to do inside the house. What kind of date would that be?!
"I'm dead. I'm literally dead. How can you give your purity to a guy like this?!" The mean girls couldn't help but scream and drown in their tears.
Sam looked at Patty and gave him a headlock. "You rascal! I can't believe after all these years, my best friend ditched me for a girl. My boy's finally grown up!" He was fully convinced that Xandra and Patty were in a relationship and were going on a really adult date.
"You really have to go that far?" Beatrice whispered to herself. She was the one who still didn't believe that Xandra and Patty were dating. It was beyond the realms of reality that Xandra would pick Patty out of all the literal princes and geniuses who tried to court her. She was even being courted by the son of a Supreme Being himself! Why would Xandra settle for a guy like Patty?
Beatrice then sent a small signal to one of the mean girls, the one who had the D-class Hot Slap Teqx. The two of them immediately understood each other. This time, they would show Xandra and everyone else that Patty was not a guy worthy of a gem like her.
"Coffee order for Samuel Berysikap coming right up!" One of the waiters announced Sam's coffee and delivered his cup of coffee to Sam's table.
While the mean girl was waiting for the perfect time to throw hot coffee on Patty, he was trying to get away from Sam's headlock. He was way too enthusiastic because he never thought that Patty would ever become a man. Sam thought Patty would end up by himself and end up marrying his bed!
"You're going on an indoor date with Xandra?" Sam asked teasingly.
Patty, of course, nodded his head like a robot. "Yes. I. Am…"
Everything happened too fast for Patty. One second, he didn't know Xandra. Then, it turned out that they were going on a date. Then, it turned out that the two of them were already THAT far into their relationship that they were going to be spending time alone in one house.
Just as the waiter was about to walk past Patty, the mean girl used her Teqx to control the hot coffee and 'accidentally' spilled towards Patty. He was going to be burned and humiliated just like how they felt when they found out about how he stole Xandra's heart.
'You're one good-for-nothing bum that doesn't deserve to be with Xandra! You can't even protect yourself, how will you protect a girl like Xandra,'
Patty didn't react when the hot coffee spilled towards him. Instead, he simply picked up an empty cup, while the coffee magically poured perfectly into the cup!
He took a sip from the coffee and faced the mean girl who used the Teqx. "Thanks for the coffee."
