Patty didn't think he would run into an (A+) class Teqx in this place, and in an accident no less. Just when he was about to leave, this girl suddenly stood up and fell into his lap. Unfortunately, this wasn't a life or death situation, or else the Muscava Cyclo would have activated the slowed time and Patty could have dodged away from her.
Yes, she was quite beautiful and completely out of his league, but that's not what's important. What's important was that he got another A-class ability! This was also the first time he saw a Teqx that was in the Money route. Just when he was about to become rich himself, he got a Money Teqx that could be of tremendous help to him! How lucky!
Patty immediately equipped the Teqx and everything he saw immediately changed to a black and white color. He consulted his system screen to see what kind of powers this Teqx gave him.
[Money]
[(A+) class Chromic Golden Midas Eye]
[Description]
• This Teqx gives the ability for the user to see which item/person will become beneficial to the user. With more mastery over the Teqx power, the user can decipher how an item/person will be useful to the user.
Patty looked around him and saw that the girl in his lap had a slight golden aura surrounding her whole body. In a world where everything was black and white, he saw that she was the only one who was different. She was the only one with color. What did that mean exactly, he didn't know.
He only copied the Teqx, but that didn't mean that he had immediate mastery over them. He didn't know what the colors meant or how to interpret them at all. Not only that, his eyes quickly felt strained from looking at the world through a black-and-white filter. Patty closed his eyes and wanted his ability to stop working, and when he opened his eyes, the world turned back to normal. He could see color again, but everything seemed dimmer for some reason.
"Hey, pervert. How about you release her?!" the girls screamed at Patty for 'grasping' at Xandra for too long, even though he wasn't holding her at all. She, herself, could stand up at any time and 'escape' from Patty, but she didn't.
The girls didn't know that and just thought that Patty was just another one of those guys. After all, Xandra was the most beautiful rose of them all. It was only natural that a guy would want to keep that rose for themselves. Even girls would want to keep Xandra for themselves because of how beautiful she was. They thought Patty was no exception to that fact.
They didn't know that Patty was too lazy to deal with romance and all that.
Beatrice got up from her seat and pulled Xandra to her. She looked at her friend and saw that there was a slight tinge of red on her cheeks.
"Are you okay?" she asked.
Xandra simply nodded her head and buried her face with her black cap. "I'm fine."
Beatrice thought that there was something weird with her. Xandra seemed flustered. But how could that be? Xandra had handsome idols and actors courting her every week, and she never seemed flustered even when those guys got too clingy to her. She would protect herself with her powers. She punished those who got too close to her with swift retribution. They wouldn't even be able to give her a friendly hug if she didn't want to.
But somehow, when she fell into that boy's lap, she seemed powerless. She landed on him like a helpless princess being snatched by an ogre. She was such a close-guarded princess, how could she let such a boy lay his hands on her?
"Woah, was that Alexandria Von Cromich?" Sam said in wonder. She was famous for being one of the richest kids in school. They lived in a castle, for supreme's sake. She was the kind of person that was treated like royalty because she WAS royalty.
"Is she someone important?" Patty asked.
Of course, the lazy bum knew nothing about her. The only celebrities he knew were the actors for his favorite television show and the advertisement guy for the new massage chair. In Patty's eyes, everyone was the same, whether they looked as beautiful as sunshine or not.
"Urgh. This is why I hate men. They just take advantage of women whenever they can."
"I bet he's going to think about Xandra all the time when he gets home."
"This will forever be the highlight of his life. How pathetic!"
The mean girls berated Patty because the moment he touched their 'queen', he somehow affected her with dirty boy germs that couldn't be erased. They put Xandra on a pedestal, and no man could ever be good enough to even reach her toes. In their eyes, only celebrity male idols and handsome actors could ever become equal to Xandra, not some unknown guy like Patty.
"Whatever," Beatrice put her hands on Xandra's cheeks to make her focus. "This is why you need to go to the ball, Xandra. You need a man to claim you so that the other boys wouldn't even dare to come near you."
At the ball, Xandra would eventually meet a man who would eventually become her lifelong partner. Beatrice imagined him to mark his territory on her and let the other boys know that she was off the market. Then, things like these wouldn't happen ever again.
"Beatrice, I already told you that I can't go to the ball."
"Why not?"
"Because…because—"

"See, I told you we should have just gone to the Ruobber main headquarters. If we were there, this thing wouldn't have happened to you."
Patty didn't care about what other people said. He knew that he had never done anything with the Xandra girl. Not only that, he didn't care if the other girls told him that he didn't deserve to be with her. He wasn't trying to. He didn't even know who she was. Also, he wasn't the one at fault at all because he was just trying to leave the table, and she was the one who bumped into him.
He was too lazy to defend himself, though. He knew that these people would never believe him, so it was useless to say anything more.
[Mission]
[Requirement]
• Visit the Ruobber company headquarters with Sam
[Reward]
• 500 Minion Growth Crystals
[Accepting the mission will result in your Do-Everything Coupon being voided and returned.]
The system flashed the mission again, giving Patty the option to accept the mission so that the coupon he received would be nullified. Even though the system gave him this chance, his answer remained the same. He still wanted to go home and just lay in his bed all day. He only had a few days left until he had to go back to school, and he didn't want to waste a day outside his house.
"Sorry Sam, I really can't join you there." Patty put on his most convincing sorry face. He knew that Sam wouldn't accept Patty's simple excuse of being lazy, so he knew that he had to come up with a better lie to tell him.
"Don't think I know your tricks, Patty."
"I really can't. I have something else to do," Patty lied straight through his teeth.
"You? You have something else to do? What is it then?" Sam never believed Patty. It was his modus operandi to use that excuse whenever he wanted to go home and stay in his bed.
Since Patty was lying, he didn't have anything to say. So instead of explaining to Sam, he simply just turned his rolling chair away to make a quick get-away. If he didn't have to explain, then he wouldn't be caught lying!
"You can't run–" Just as Sam said that, he suddenly saw something fall from Patty's chair.
He saw a piece of rectangular paper that was all black with golden writing on it. It looked like an official ticket for a very exclusive event. This was not the first time he saw this black ticket. Back then, Patty took it away before he could read it, but now it landed in front of him again. He bent down and picked it up.
But as he was about to read it, the ticket was snatched away from his hands yet again!
When he looked up, he was surprised to see Xandra, of all people, holding the black ticket in her hand!
Xandra then looked at Beatrice and said this with a straight face;
"I can't go to the ball because—" Xandra then pointed at Patty. "I have a date with him."
