Chapter 250 - Chapter 250: Completion of the Glass Greenhouse

During this period, Rex Farm was changing day by day. With the glass greenhouse gradually taking shape, this large structure became a landmark in the area. Many customers who came to buy Pokémon eggs made sure to visit the site, and it even attracted some nearby farmers who came to observe and study it.

Several of these farmers were interested in the glass greenhouse, but once they heard about the high construction costs, they abandoned the idea. After all, the climate in the Hoenn region is pleasant enough that they don't need a greenhouse to maintain temperature.

If it weren't for Rex wanting to prevent the life energy generated by the grassy terrain from dissipating, he wouldn't have built such a costly glass greenhouse. The thought of the huge expenditure made his heart ache.

Recently, many people have visited Rex Farm, and the flower field created by Shaymin has also been discovered. Every day, numerous travelers now come to admire the beauty of the flower field.

In response, Rex made some adjustments, allowing visitors only to enjoy the view from the perimeter. If anyone tries to venture deeper into the field, or towards Shaymin's Gracidea flower field, they are chased away by the Taillow flock living on the farm.

Initially, some visitors, thinking of themselves as Pokémon trainers, attempted to drive off the Taillow with their own Pokémon to force their way in. However, after realizing that doing so attracted several Swellow leading a horde of Taillow to attack, no one dared try it again.

One trainer who sent out an Exploud met a rather miserable fate. Not only was Exploud severely injured, but the trainer himself was pecked all over by the Taillow. Fortunately, the Taillow knew not to seriously harm him, or he might not have left Rex Farm alive.

At first, Rex didn't know about the incident. It wasn't until the trainer returned to Fallarbor Town and reported to Officer Jenny that Rex Farm was allowing Pokémon to attack tourists, that Rex learned the details from Officer Jenny.

Of course, the matter eventually blew over. After all, Rex Farm is his private property, and since the trainer entered without permission, it was technically trespassing. The trainer had no grounds to complain and had to bear the consequences of his actions.

To avoid further trouble, Rex put up a wooden sign in front of the flower field, warning visitors not to venture into the field or they would be attacked by the Pokémon living on the farm. Any consequences would be their own responsibility.

Rex knew that some people tend to defy warnings, but since he had already issued one, those who still ignored it would have to face the results themselves.

Coincidentally, the Taillow on the farm had been rather idle lately and were looking forward to anyone foolish enough to cause trouble, giving them a chance to stretch their wings before meals.

Rex Farm had suddenly become so lively that even Rex and the others weren't quite used to it, as they had been accustomed to a quieter life.

Thankfully, after the initial novelty wore off, the flow of visitors to Rex Farm began to decrease, much to Rex's relief.

On this particular day, the glass greenhouse, which had taken over half a month to complete, was finally finished. Uncle Henry and his construction team had worked tirelessly, and while everyone, including the Pokémon, looked exhausted, they all felt a sense of satisfaction as they gazed at the greenhouse they had built with their own hands.

The greenhouse was a rectangular structure, 100 meters long, 60 meters wide, and 4 meters high. The walls and roof were all made of transparent glass, allowing a clear view of the interior from the outside.

Thanks to the transparent glass, the light inside the greenhouse was almost the same as outside, ensuring that the plants received plenty of sunlight.

With the greenhouse in place, the plants inside would be protected from most natural disasters, and the intelligent management system could control irrigation precisely and regularly, ensuring faster plant growth.

After carefully inspecting the greenhouse, Rex was very satisfied. Once Uncle Henry demonstrated the intelligent control system, Rex promptly paid the remaining balance for the project.

Uncle Henry's team was also pleased with Rex's straightforwardness. In their line of work, the last thing they wanted was a client who nitpicked and tried to withhold part of the payment.

"Rex, if there are any issues with the greenhouse in the future, feel free to contact me. I'll be sure to help you out!" Uncle Henry said enthusiastically.

"Thank you, Uncle Henry. If I have any questions, I'll be sure to ask you!" Rex replied with a smile.

After seeing off Uncle Henry and his team, Rex returned to the greenhouse. As he looked at the high-tech glass structure in front of him, he felt a deep sense of accomplishment.

He couldn't help but marvel at how advanced certain technologies were in this world, with the magical powers of Pokémon inspiring countless scientific breakthroughs.

Even though researchers had only unlocked a small fraction of these mysteries, that tiny fraction had brought great convenience to people's lives, ensuring that they never had to worry about food and could embark on their journeys to pursue their dreams while still young.

Now that the greenhouse was complete, Rex needed to plan the use of the land inside. His initial plan was to divide the land into two sections—one for planting Revival Herbs and the other for Energy Roots.

While waiting for the greenhouse to be completed, Rex had already enhanced the Revival Herb and Energy Root seeds. Each of these enhanced seeds was plump and translucent, radiating vitality.

Just yesterday, Rex had soaked these seeds in a nutrient solution. In a few days, they would sprout and be ready for planting once they had grown into seedlings.

"Sandslash, I'm going to need your help again!"

Rex immediately called upon his reliable helper, Sandslash. With its assistance, the land inside the greenhouse would be ready for planting in no time.

Sandslash was happy to help, as it took pride in being needed by its trainer. This was its way of proving its own worth.

Rex had already marked the areas that needed to be tilled, and Sandslash quickly got to work. Using its Dig move, its sharp claws deftly turned over the soil. Whenever it encountered a large rock, it would dig it up and pile it to the side.

Combusken and the other Pokémon helped carry the rocks away, and within just one afternoon, the team had prepared two soft, fertile plots of land—one larger and one smaller.

Since there were fewer Revival Herb seeds, they would be planted in the smaller plot, while the larger plot would be used for the Energy Roots.
