Rex was utterly shocked to see Celebi in this canyon. This was, after all, the legendary Forest Guardian!
Celebi's body was green, with a round head and antennae that curved behind its head, tipped with blue. It had light blue eyes and dark circles around them, with round feet and three-fingered hands.
Celebi possessed the power to travel through time and would wander across different eras. It was said to only appear in peaceful times, capable of healing injuries and sharing its power with plant life. Forests where Celebi appeared would flourish, earning it the title of Forest Guardian.
Seeing the green creature before him, Rex was filled with emotion. Although he had recently encountered Groudon and Kyogre, he had been an unnoticed bystander then.
Soon, Rex noticed something unusual about Celebi. It was in a deep coma, with a massive wound on its body, from which dark energy continuously emanated.
Rex knew that for a Grass-type like Celebi to be unable to heal itself, this dark energy had to be exceptionally potent.
Realizing that the mysterious aura causing the wild Pokémon to flee was likely coming from the unconscious Celebi, Rex knew that to resolve the situation, he had to wake Celebi.
Without hesitation, Rex placed his right hand on Celebi and used his ability to transfer life energy into its body, hoping to help it resist the dark energy.
Due to the severity of Celebi's injuries, Rex channeled all the life energy he had generated that day into it.
After this, Rex quickly withdrew his hand and stepped back, waiting for Celebi's reaction.
Having never treated a mythical Pokémon before, Rex was unsure if his ability could help Celebi recover. He could only hope for the best.
Moments later, Celebi's green glow intensified, and the dark energy around its wound surged as if battling fiercely.
After a brief standoff, the rootless dark energy began to dissipate, and Celebi's wound gradually healed.
Seeing this, Rex breathed a sigh of relief, knowing Celebi's condition was improving. With its extraordinary physique, it would likely fully recover once the dark energy was expelled.
Before long, Celebi's injuries were completely healed, though it had not yet fully regained consciousness. Its eyelids fluttered, indicating it was waking up.
"Swellow, Machoke, you can come in now!"
Rex called to Swellow and Machoke, who had been waiting outside the canyon. They approached, no longer feeling the oppressive aura.
This indicated that Celebi's unconscious aura had dissipated, meaning the wild Pokémon driven from the forest would soon return to their usual habitats.
Suddenly, Swellow and Machoke shielded Rex protectively, as Celebi had awakened and was curiously floating in mid-air, observing him.
"Hello, Celebi," Rex greeted it.
Celebi nodded at Rex and used its psychic power to transmit images into his mind.
Rex saw scenes flashing before him and quickly understood how Celebi had been injured. It had encountered the awakening Yveltal, the God of Destruction, during its time travels and sustained the injury in a battle with Yveltal.
Yveltal's strength far surpassed Celebi's, so Celebi, gravely injured, used its power to travel through time to this canyon, where it fell into a coma due to its severe wounds.
Without Rex's life energy, Celebi would not have been able to expel Yveltal's dark energy so quickly.
Rex then explained to Celebi why he had come, emphasizing the conflict between wild Pokémon and humans caused by the Pokémon fleeing the forest.
Celebi, hearing this, showed a remorseful expression, realizing the trouble it had unintentionally caused.
"Celebi, there's no need to feel guilty. Now that the oppressive aura is gone, the Pokémon will soon return to the forest," Rex reassured it.
Celebi, comforted by Rex's words, flew to his shoulder and sat there.
"I'm heading back to the farm now. Would you like to come with me?" Rex asked.
Curious about the farm, Celebi decided to accompany Rex, sitting on his shoulder.
Rex rode Swellow back towards the farm, with Celebi perched on his shoulder, enjoying the scenery below.
Above Jade Moon Lake, Rex noticed the number of wild Pokémon on the western side was decreasing as they returned to the forest.
However, some Pokémon seemed to consider staying on the lake's western side, finding it a good place to live.
Rex thought that even after this incident, the number of wild Pokémon on the western side of Jade Moon Lake would be higher than before. But these Pokémon wouldn't pose a threat to the farm anymore.
Seeing there was no danger, Rex directed Swellow to land in front of his house.
"Great, you're finally back, boss!" Yuli and the others exclaimed with joy upon seeing Rex.
They had been worried about him since he left, fearing something might happen to him. Now, seeing him return, they felt relieved.
"Is this green creature a new Pokémon you've caught, boss? It's quite cute," Yuli asked, noticing Celebi on Rex's shoulder.
Celebi pouted at being called a green creature but was mollified by the compliment.
