[Taylor's POV]
Shunting the obscene amount of Anger into the Swarm, I closed my eyes, took in and held a breath, then counted down from 10, releasing the breath when I hit 0. This was important, and we couldn't risk me going off like a maniac. (Don't lose your shit. Don't lose your shit. Don't lose your shit.) That was my mantra, and I was going to go through with it to the best of my ability. The Solidarity coming from my Other Half was the final thing that helped ground me, which I mentally thanked him for. Mhm.
Opening my eyes, I stared back at the woman in front of me, meeting Tess' green eyes with my own. She, and Melody, were in their Hero gear, which said enough about how important this was. They were both being perfectly professional right now, so I should be too. "So, this obviously a trap."
My Other Half snorted, No shit, making me look at him from the corner of my eye. He was still leaning against Behemoth, just like I was against my own Johanna, it's Duel Runner form still active as the forms of our monsters gathered around us. For him that meant Simorgh of Darkness, the massive and menacing looking bird gently flew above him and on his side of the field/Field Spell, while Ehther the Heavenly, and Lucius the Shadow stood behind me, my own Field Spell active. We were in the middle of another Duel, they helped me not think about this exact thing, but apparently I couldn't keep putting it away.
He met my look with one of his own, a mental hum going off for a moment, before we both looked away and turned back to Tess, Muting our thoughts as we did. Neither of us said anything, both focusing on the situation at hand. Though, the steady stream of Calm Solidarity coming from him was very Appreciated.
Tess nodded, a small frown on her face as she did. "The account was a burner, as we expected, but seems to be somewhat related to who we now know as 'Trickster' of The Travelers."
I blinked, Confusion pulsing from both sides of the Bond as we took that in. (Aren't they..?) I was pretty sure I knew who they were, Phoenix had told me about them before, so I was already getting more red flags then before. (Does that mean The Travelers are working with Cauldron?)
That... [So, there just might be an issue here.] That was an understatement if I'd ever heard one.
|What's that mean for us?| The Travelers on their own weren't much of a threat... With the exception of Sundancer, because she could create suns, but it wasn't about them. The main issue was Echidna, and what she meant for Brockton. From what he knew, and had told us, Leviathan came to the Bay because Echidna was there.
But if she was with Cauldron... Where would Leviathan hit?
My Other Half was silent, Contemplative over that question. Unfortunately he didn't get to answer before someone else spoke up. "Who?" I idly wondered when Amy would step into the conversation. She'd been here the whole time, and even though she was looking perfectly domestic in her turtleneck and plaid pants, Amy was still a Hero for far longer then my Other Half and I were.
Melody snapped her fingers, a dozen or so screens appearing in front of her and Tess. "# From what we've gathered of them, The Travelers are a nomadic group of Villains with 5 known members. #"(I don't think people actually know about Oliver) Saying that, 5 of the 12 screens joined together and enlarged into a 2x4 grid. "# Their leader, Trickster, seems to be a Mover capable of exchanging two objects of similar or lesser weight with each other. This includes people, but seems to be limited by line of sight. #" That would be Annoying, especially because he could possibly disarm us if we weren't careful. "# The only weapon he seems to have is a cane... But we're sure that's for the aesthetic. #" I... Guessed, that made sense? "# Next is Ballistic, a Striker, and possible Blaster, who is capable of granting objects with kinetic energy, turning them into impromptu projectiles. He doesn't appear to be limited by size considering the smallest observed object was a pebble, while the biggest was a car. He's known to carry a bag filled with rocks and marbles, so keep an eye out for that. #"
Amy clicked her tongue at the end of that, idly petting Scylla as we watched a clip of said car shooting into a building. "Not the first chunky salsa maker I've seen, won't be the last." That was one way to refer to him.
The trio of snorts that came from that was not expected, but finding out they came from my Other Half, Lucius, and Darkness, was not as much of a Surprise as one would think. Though, seeing the trio share a look was something that made me twitch.
Thankfully, Dragon picked up where her sister left off before I pulled out my Wingman and shot someone. Lucius was real close, and I doubted he could dodge at this range. "The next member we know of is Sundancer, a confirmed Blaster 10 capable of creating sun like spheres strong enough to melt through practically anything." I frowned at that, a flicker of Weariness going off from my boyfriend's side of the Bond.
Knowing I caught that he sent a mental clip of The Terminator melting, which was enough for me to get what he was Weary about. [I'll be keeping Heatblast as my instant transformation.] That was completely understandable.
Not privy to that little bit, Dragon kept going. "She doesn't seem to carry any weapons, but I'd advise keeping an eye out." That was a good thing to do in any scenario. "Next is the Master of the group. Originally, Genesis was rated a Changer 9, but due to new information we've re-categorized her as a Master. She is capable of creating powerful and versatile constructs that can have their own powers, but they need to be biologically feasible in order to be created." That... Huh, that was a thing apparently.
"# And lastly is... Well, Perdition... #" None of us were blind to the way my Mother figure shuffled a bit, earning herself some raised brows. Dragon sighed, while Medusa frowned something fierce. "# Well, Perdition was apparently sold to the Yangban by Accord. #"
...
...
...
"Sucks to be that guy." I don't think anyone was Surprised at who said that. He may have earned himself some looks, and a snort from Amy, but he ignored them in favor of looking over to Lucius, who was giving him an Approving nod.
I brushed away the thought of a monster encouraging my boyfriend, instead choosing to focus on what I'd just heard. (So, we should have 4 Capes to worry about, but possibly more considering who's backing them... Probably need to worry about bombs too considering they took Bakuda...) Thinking about the fact we were going up against the mad bomber again made me twitch, the whole thing could've been avoided if I just put a hole through her head or heart, getting me to decide that the next time I saw said mad bomber I'd take no prisoners.
I was brought out of my thoughts by something unexpected though.
A short but sharp thrill rang out from my side, a small gust coming as Darkness landed besides my boyfriend, looming over us. We all glanced at him, watching the massive bird shoot a narrowed eyed look at Ehther, then clicking his beak at Dragon and Medusa. My Monarch scoffed, getting us to look at her for a translation. After giving all of us a once over, she spoke. "The usurper wishes to know why 'Such weaklings are inspiring caution in the summoners.' An ignorant question," Darkness flared his wings, black wind gathering around him as he glared at Ehther, but the solar woman ignored it. "But I'll enlighten the fool when important conversations are not being held."
The impending ear splitting screech was cut off when Ether whacked the bird with her scepter, shooting the menace a glare strong enough to make him huff and drop it.
A throat being cleared made us shift our attention back to the Dragon Sisters, their namesake having a small smile on her face as she looked at us. "Interruptions aside, this is what we know of The Travelers."
She frowned there, leading to Medusa picking up where she left off. "# Problem is, we don't exactly have anything on their backers. #"
"'Backers?' What backers?" Ah... We hadn't told Amy.
That fact went through my boyfriend's mind at the same speed as mine, equal amounts of Contemplation coming from us as we considered telling her about what we knew, before we both decided to wait a little. The deadline for the 'Ransom' was only a few hours away, and explaining the entire rabbit hole that was Cauldron would require more then just a few hours.
Thankfully, Dragon knew that too. "At the moment we believe Coil to be directly involved due to his earlier abduction of Bakuda." A few clips of said abduction played, getting Amy to frown.
I blinked at it though, idly noted the Amusement from my boyfriend, then thought about it. (Well, she's not lying. Coil is involved, but he's not the main mastermind.) I also realized that this was a good way to explain the situation without mentioning Cauldron. We'd do it, soon too given the fact Amy was important to us, but not right now.
"Which I'm still calling bullshit on by the way." Of course he would. "They should've just let you do it, but nooo, now we gotta deal with this bitch, again." Considering there wasn't an ounce of Annoyance coming from him, he was just bitching to bitch, as he was won't to do.
Dragon sighed, while the rest of us, monsters excluded, nodded. "# That's one of the reasons why The Protectorate is set to start losing as many offices as they are. Playing stupid games got them stupid prizes. #"
A few snorts were our response to that.
"As amusing as that is," Dragon, once again, became the main focus. "We're now faced with a rather simple, yet difficult question..." If I wasn't already paying full attention already, I would've given the look she was sending at us, and the Serious tone she was using. "What do we do now?"
And wasn't that the big question?
What would we do?
[Taylor's POV a few hours later]
Wrapping my Suit clad arms around Amy, I brought my new girlfriend into a hug, which she instantly reciprocated. "I'm sorry we aren't bringing you with us." And I was. We all knew this was a trap, one set for me and my Other Half. If we included Amy and Scylla, because there was no way our Daughter would stay home when the rest of her parents went out, then we'd be putting them in danger for no reason.
And sure the argument about her being not only older, but more experienced in Hero life could be made, but she didn't have the proper gear for this. Her Suit was still blank, missing some features, and she didn't have a full loadout. The most Amy would be able to do is snipe, but she hadn't done any training with the Sentinel or Hawkmoon since our little break started, so I wasn't expecting much on that side of things.
Going by the scowl, with a little bit of blush, which was just so Amy that it was just adorable, she probably knew all that too. "I get it, I do... But I don't have to like it."
I sighed at that, gently disengaging from the hug as I did. Reaching out, I ran a hand along Scylla's scales, my Daughter, a thought that sent a thrill of something I was choosing not to identify right now, down my spine, letting out a low and pleased hiss as I scratched parts of her natural armor. "You don't have to like it. Hell, we don't like it," My boyfriend/partner let out an Affirmative grumble by my side at that, a flicker of Annoyed Acceptance coming from him during the bit. "But it has to happen." We had no idea how Cauldron would react if anyone else showed up with us, and we weren't going to risk Amy and Scylla to find out.
"Doesn't mean we'll keep you out of the loop though." Our eyes drifted towards our boyfriend at that, though, seeing him pointing at Medusa made us look over to her. The lilac eyed woman just nodded, bringing up our feeds in lieu of answering.
Amy blinked, stared at said feeds, then nodded. "Yeah, that'll do it." Our boyfriend snorted at that, lightly bumping my shoulder as he walked over to us.
I got the que, stepping away. "$N..oo.$"
Ignoring the whine from my Daughter, and stepped out of Amy's reach as the two of them hugged each other, our boyfriend scratching Scylla's chin to placate both of our needy girls. After a bit of hugging, which got Amy to blush a little more, they pulled back. "You'll probably miss out on most of the shit from my end since I'll be in other forms, but I'll probably go back to my default at some point."
Amy and I nodded along at that, it was just common sense, and she spoke up. "That's fine and all... Just, ya know..." Oh? She was blushing some more, and actively tried to hide it by looking down. "Both of you, just come back to me."
That got mutual spikes of Affection from the both of us, which unsurprisingly led to us crushing the brunette in hugs. "$N..oo, .a's no. s..dwi.h me.t!$"

...
We both decided to ignore our dramatic Daughter...
After making sure it was pure dramatics and her not actually being hurt.
[Amy's POV]
Watching Phoenix and Taylor leave without me felt...
Wrong.
It was different then when New Wave or Vicky did something like this, and I knew it.
Maybe it was because they decided to speedrun their way into my heart and somehow turn me into their girlfriend, which I was still wrapping my head around, but for the good reasons.
Maybe it was because they were the only flesh and blood people I'd been around, the Dragon Sisters and my Daughter didn't count for obvious reasons.
Maybe it was because they stopped me from having a fucking mental breakdown, which I knew I would've had considering the small one I had this morning...
Or maybe it was because I was a Hero, one who had been in atleast a dozen Endbringer battles and had lived in Brockton Bay for all of my life...
Hell, it was probably all of the above to be honest.
I just knew that this was wrong. I hated the thought of turning into some housewife or damsel in distress.
I was THE strongest Healer in the fucking WORLD! A Bio-Kinetic that could create plagues or armies of monsters way more dangerous then anything the world had ever seen! I was NOT damsel in distress material, and I REFUSED to let that change.
We all knew I was going to join Pantheon, there was no other option, joining The Guild didn't count since they were affiliates, and I was was perfectly fine with that. Pantheon was where home was, and I wasn't going to lose the people that decided that fucked up little Amy was worth something other then her Powers.
So I was going to do something about it.
I wasn't going to just stand on the sidelines and wait for them to come back to me like a little girl waiting for her Mommy and Daddy to come home.
I was going to join them, stand with them, and not a single fucking thing was going to stop me.
That thought I turned around and started making my way to The Lab.
I had a Suit to claim, and a new name to come up with.
[Taylor's POV]
Running alongside my Mate, the sun setting in the background, I had the time to think about a few things. First was how easy it was to mentally update Amy to 'Girlfriend', and Scylla to 'Daughter.' With the benefit of Zephyr, my name for my Kineceleran Hybrid form, I could recognize that I'd subconsciously already thought of the latter as mine, while the former was simple common sense. We knew how Amy saw us, she was not as discreet as she thought she was, and knew that eventually we'd need to address it... And considering I was turned into a Bisexual because of my Other Half, was actually Fond of the marigold eyed girl, and had actively been suppressing my hormone fueled thoughts about seeing how much/little work would have to go into her to turn her into the perfect submissive for us...
Well, turning her down never really seemed to be in the cards. [Why are you suddenly horny?] And there went my primary train of thought.
It took far too much control to keep myself from slamming my foot down with enough force to send me face first into the dirt, because that question had caught me far too off guard for me to not react. |Excuse me?!| The mental raised brow said he wasn't buying shit, making me let out an Embarrassed huff. |Amy's perfect sub material.|
[Water is also wet.] The sheer nonchalance in that made me twitch. [... Wait... Are you only just now choosing to process this?] I twitched again at that, my tail shooting out to slap his, only to be rebuffed by his own tail. [Physical retaliation is quite telling oh Mate of mine.]
The bits of Teasing Amusement nearly made me twitch again, but I held it in, releasing the urge as a physical breath. |Positive trains of thought are easier to think on then the situation at hand.| There was a mental hum at that answer, Understanding coming through with it, while an undercurrent of Interest told me he wanted to know if that was all...
As if he didn't already know. Huffing, I decided to answer him. |And because yes, I've purposely chosen to process this now because it'll keep me from thinking about the fact my Father is being used as bait for us.| Mentioning that thought nearly made me think about it, but I forcibly derailed that train of thought as soon as it started. If I thought about it now then I'd just push myself passed my limits and needlessly hurt myself before we got the chance to save him. |Think I should get her a collar on our date? Maybe a really nice choker?|
His mental and physical snorts, as well as the upsurge in Amusement, told me that he was game for this. Though, he'd probably be up for it solely for the fact it'd help me. [Depends. Where exactly are you going for your date?]
That... Was a good question.
I was currently juggling between England, somewhere we'd been on a few dates of our own and had a good enough grasp of the area.
Canada, which was our seat of power and somewhere just good in general.
Or Brazil, because I liked the country due to the fact it was what led to us cementing The Bond as a thing compared to how it was as a Link.
I sent the images and context behind those three choices, earning a Contemplative hum. [Well firstly, why not New York?] I sent over the image of Cauldron's brand. [Ahh, that'd put a damper on things...-]
|No shit.|
He ignored that. [But being paranoid 24/7 would juts eventually lead to us letting them rule our lives. I'm not in the habit of letting the real life Illuminati live rent free in my mind, and neither should you.]
I grumbled at that, turning as he did and entering another state. |I get it, but I'll probably need a few minutes to let that fact process and cement itself.|
Que more humming. [Well considering we're a good 2 minutes or so away from our destination, we may need to run back when we're done.] Checking my HUD made me realize that yes, we were already in Nevada, and would make it to Arizona soon. [That aside, maybe start with something familiar.] I perked up at that, mentally gesturing for him to go on. I'd had ideas similar to what he was alluding too, but I still wanted his opinion. [Why not do something similar to our first date? Take her somewhere to eat, talk to her a bit, then add in your own little twist at the end.]
I threw that around for a bit, thinking of where exactly I could/should go wine and dine Amy, then remembered that we were both relatively simple girls, and would be perfectly fine with something simple. |I think it's coming together now.|
My Other Half just hummed at that, Curious about what I'd go for, but also Content about how the conversation went. [We're about to hit state lines.] Mentally nodding at him I pulled away from thinking about Amy and I's date, focusing instead on the mission ahead of me.
We were going to save me Dad, I wouldn't allow anything else.
[A few minutes later]
I didn't fucking care that I was openly scowling, this was just bullshit. |The entire warehouse is lined with Tinker Bug Repellent. I'm pretty much blind.| I silently vowed to find the stupid fuck that made something to purposely counter ME SPECIFICALLY, and sink my claws into his throat. I'd most likely change my mind when I reverted to my default form, but it was something nice to think about at the moment.
My Other Half's death rattle of a hum rang through my mind, an idle Curiosity coming along with it. [You didn't think they'd make this easy for us now did you love?] I snarled at the drawling tone, just barely resisting the urge to sink my claws into the alley wall and rip it apart.
At the moment we were a solid 3 miles away from the warehouse, my range had increased at some point to its current max, beginning our plan to scout it out in advance. The meeting for this 'Ransom' was a half hour away, so we had time to figure out how to proceed. We were also making use of Ghostfreak and Melinoe, which my Suit had adjusted itself for, forms that we'd only just gained, with powers they wouldn't know about.
The main one being the invisibility we were both using.
We were going into a trap, but neither of us was fucking braindead enough to not use assets that would turn this trap back onto them. (They want to trap us like beasts? Then we'll slaughter them like cattle.) Idly flexing my claws, and resisting the urge the let out a Sardonic cackle, I focused on where my Other Half was. Melinoe made it so easy to vent my Frustrations and could be provoked with the slightest push, but I could control myself enough to keep those thoughts in.
He was invisible, but our Bond couldn't hide him from me, nor the pigeon that I had tailing him...
At some point, probably when I nearly lost my shit back in Brockton, I somehow managed to get my Power to work on birds. It could work on fish too, but it wasn't automatic. I'd need to consciously try to add things like birds and fish to my Swarm, which was a hassle that I wasn't going to bother figuring out until I had some time to specifically dedicate to Power training. (I'd rather stick to bugs, but throwing a bunch of crows at people might help them get it through their thick skulls to fuck off and not try this shit with us.) I doubted it, but I could hope.
Anyway, my boyfriend was basically at the warehouse, and was just giving a once over. While he did that I made the pigeon land on a nearby building, using its sight to look at it with him. [There's... What, 20 of them?]
Scowling, I did a headcount, quickly coming to the total. |I'm seeing 35 mercenaries camped out on the outside, hiding in the nearby buildings and shadows. 12 snipers surrounding the warehouse in teams of 3 from each direction too. The last 3 are on the roof... Doing something. I don't know what they're doing, and I'm not sure I like it.| And I didn't. They were not only standing guard around an obvious piece of Tinkertech, unknown Tinkertech was dangerous, even to us, but they were hidden very well. One would need to be above them to even know they were there in the first place.
Sending over what I was seeing was simple, though the silence, followed by Confused Contemplation, wasn't helping my nerves. [... I... Think, I've seen that thing before? The Grey Matter/Brainstorm parts of my mind are sure of it, but I... Don't... Ah!] A flash of Toybox's site went through my mind, confirming where he'd seen it before. [Oh... Well that's fuckin smart.] That said he sent over a description of what it was...
Making me scowl harder and slash the nearest wall with my claws in Anger.
The fucking thing was a shield generator that covered the warehouse in a dome. The device had two active modes, the one that let people in and out, and the fully active mode that repelled anyone/thing. The former would still defend against aggressive actions, but needed said actions to trigger the latter.
The device also needed to be outside of the building, because the shield worked like an actual physical barrier and would experience issues against the confines of a room or anything similar. The shield itself was 'Supposedly' able to stop anything weaker then high yield military warheads, which I didn't believe... But considering Toybox were still pumping those out, and one of them was right fucking there, then there was probably less boasting then I'd like.
They really were trying to trap us like animals, and that thought made me gnash my teeth. [It's one of the reasons The Roost's shielding was made as powerful as it was. The Big Brains saw that, went 'We can do better', and did it.]
That Calmed me down, and also brought a grin to my lips. The Roost, and a good 25ms around the mountain, were covered in a passive/active shield strong enough to keep Obelisk and Raviel from damaging the mountain when they were beating the shit out of each other, and just barely held when Herakles hit the mountain with full force.
A full force that registered as 200 quadrillion pounds of force... (Fucking miracle it held and he didn't blow a hole through our home.)
Shooing that aside, I focused on my Mate, tracking where he was through the pigeon's eyes. He'd easily slipped into the building, shielding meaning nothing to a literal ghost, though as a consequence of that I'd lost him. Frowning, I followed through our Bond, activating the sight sharing aspect of it... And blinked at the split screen view I was getting. Our Surprise lasted for a moment, because this was new, but was Shunted away the next in order to take in the surroundings.
Currently my Other Half was floating by the rafters, surveying the area with his sole eye. |This... I don't like this.| Agreement pulsed from him, and for good reason considering what we were seeing. The warehouse was essentially empty... Save for the 6 Capes spread out around my Dad. (Who are they?) We both recognized Trickster, though there seemed to be... Something, wrong with him. I couldn't tell what, it could've been the fact his outfit covered all of his skin or something like that, but I just had that feeling.
A feeling I was getting when my Mate's eye turned to Sundancer, whose outfit also looked different. Instead of the red and sun crests that were supposed to be on her suit, there were blue, nearly electric blue, highlights all around it, as well as a lightning motif. [Sum's real fuckin fishy here.] Before I could send over my Agreement about that his eye moved , shifting down to his chest as he focused on...
A Case 53?
Our mutual Confusion was enough to get him to force his eye to see clearer, this particular Case 53 being examined by the both of us. From what we could tell it was a woman, one who looked like the stereotypical banshee, ghastly figure, tattered clothing that just barely revealed the Cauldron brand on one of her shoulder blades, that sort of thing. A part of me was Offended just looking at her, I pulled off the 'Sexy ghost' look so much better then she did, and felt just a bit tempted to lay down the smack down on the bitch for even daring to look as shit as she did.
Looks aside, she had some weird looking chains wrapped around her arms, the things looking like they were made out of smoke or something given the way they flickered and shifted around.(Literally just stealing one of Genesis' confirmed constructs) They probably did something, vitality stealing if they conformed to her form's aesthetics, but I didn't know.
Examination done, which I was sure he'd finished first, his eye moved to the... Other, Case 53's? |Okay, Cauldron's definitely involved.|
He mentally snorted at that. [No shit] My eye twitched at that, but I held back my knee jerk retort of 'Fuck off.' He wasn't wrong about how obvious that was after all. [Still, do they think we're retarded? There's obviously something off about Trickster and Sundancer, The Travelers never had a Case 53 on their team, and the fact one of them is an 10ft tall dude in full armor is just asking for us to ring the alarms.]
And again, he wasn't wrong. The living knight statue, giant sword and all, was a bit much, especially because it was like looking at liquid mercury.(Just imagine the Arma Gigas from RWBY) No one from The Travelers had a Power like that, and they should've known that we knew... So this was just another thing to add to their trap.
The living(?) armor aside, the other two Case 53's were... Something. One looked like a monochrome bear-man, but with ridiculously sharp looking claws and a long lizard like tail with a scythe on the end... (Wait... That's a thing actually...) I wracked my brain for a bit, trying to remember why that was familiar to me... Before remembering what it reminded me of. Kamaitachi, some kind of Japanese weasel demon.
Surprise filtered over from him at that, so I probably let the train of thought slip. [I can see it. He's more bear then weasel, but I can definitely see it...] He squinted a bit, focusing on the other Case 53 besides the bear-man. [Now that it's been brought up tho, the other guy looks like a big fuckin Kappa... Kinda like Kuzenbo from Smite now that I'm really looking.] After he sent over an image of said character I had to Agree that yes, the turtle-man did in fact look like him.
And right there, being guarded by Trickster himself, was my Father. I knew it was him, could tell that the balding man tied up and shackled to the ground was my Father... And I wanted to reach out to him, pick him up and teleport back home the INSTANT I could...
But it had to wait.
I couldn't jeopardize the plan.
With all of the Capes, and my Father, accounted for, it was time to come up with the rest of our plan. |Ah Puch can only control 3 at a time, right?| We were pretty sure about that, it made sense considering he had the ability to grow 3 more eyes compared to Ghostfreak's 1, but we hadn't exactly tested it.
He nodded at that, already knowing where I was going with this. [You going to come in and join me in The Haunting?] My response was to shoot forwards, flying through the air as I made my way over to him. [Okay, so, I think I can handle taking over Sundancer, the Kamaitachi bear, and big ol Kappa himself. My physical body could probably handle the discount ghost bitch too, leaving you the Living Armor, or Trickster.]
I knew the unasked question. |Save him for me. The moment I get back I'll handle Trickster.| I had a few... Ideas, about what I could do to the charlatan, and my Ectonurite nature was playing into quite a few of them.
My Mate sent over Acceptance, and that was that.
Slipping through the wall was a simple affair, as was floating towards my Other Half. His eye shifted towards his back, locking onto me as I drifted towards his side, then moved back to its normal place in his head. [It's up to you.]
I nodded at that, then began gently gliding down towards the bound form of my Father. He was there, right in front of my very eyes, and I wouldn't fuck this up for anything.
12ft.
10ft.
7ft.
4ft.
1ft.
My feet were inches away from the ground, hands hovering over my Father's shoulders. He was right here, and all I had to do was become tangible and teleport out.
So I did just that. "The fu...-" That was all I heard before my hands grasped my Dad's shoulders, the mental command to teleport me to The Roost being sent and activated.
In the blink of an eye I found myself back home, my feet dropping onto the livingroom rug, Dad's body following after... And immediately causing an alarm to go off, my HUD flashing to life as a warning blared as loudly as the alarm...
One that made ice crawl in my veins, and my heart drop. Not even the surge of toxic power surging through me could tear my eyes away from the words flashing in front of my eyes.
'Bomb detected!'
I had an idea for a story, one that stayed for a bit longer then the others usually do, but when I tried to write it I came up blank. The premise was a System that worked off of the whole Druid thing of turning into animals, but broken up into 3 parts.
Land bound animals like dogs and cats in the early levels, bigger things like horses and buffalo in the mid stages, then more bigger/dangerous animals like elephants and lions in the last stages.
The rank up for that would be dinos and stuff, while the rank up for that would be magical beasts and shit.
The other two branches would be sky/sea bound animals, then repeat with the rank ups.
No idea what world I'd drop that character in, which was why I had issues writing it.
If anyone figures out how to write something like that I'd be fine with them yoinking this idea.
