Chapter 17 - Slow Start

Axel felt the pain that filled his body again as he regained consciousness. The monster's attacks and injuries feel real. He writhed, trying to overcome the pain that was stinging again.

The previously severed arm, even though it was completely restored in the dream world, now felt like it was experiencing pain that shot back into his body. Axel closed his eyes for a moment, trying to regain consciousness.

Slowly, Axel tried to get up and sat on the edge of the lake. He felt exhausted and staggered, trying to remember what happened earlier. His face felt pale, and the wounds on his body still hurt.

Axel felt in his waist bag tremblingly, looking for something that could help with the pain racking his body. His hands found two bottles of healing potions, but when he checked the contents, he felt disappointed. The bottles contained low grade healing potions, which might only provide some relief to his wounds.

Nevertheless, Axel took one of the bottles and opened the cap nimbly. He drank the contents of the bottle quickly, feeling a refreshing and healing sensation creeping slowly through his body. Although the effects may not be felt immediately, it is at least the first step in the recovery process.

The atmosphere in the dungeon still felt tense with the roar of the water and the screams of monsters echoing in the distance. Axel could feel the vibrations of monster activity around him, indicating that the danger was still not over. "Ground Zero" which removes the barriers between dungeon floors makes the situation even more difficult and dangerous for adventurers.

Axel knew that he had to quickly find a way out of this environment before getting caught in an even more dangerous battle.

With only a dagger in hand and a feeling of pain that had not yet disappeared, Axel stepped forward into the dark and gloomy hallway with no source of light. His awareness of the dangers around him kept him alert, especially with the roars and screams of monsters still echoing in the distance.

While the low level healing potions didn't have any significant effect, Axel continued forward with the determination to survive. Every step he took felt heavy, making him realize how weak his body was after the previous battle. However, he continued walking, concentrating on finding a way out of this middle floor.

"How long have I been walking in this darkness?"

Axel stopped for a moment in the dark hallway, pondering for a moment as he tried to calculate how long he had been walking in the darkness of this dungeon. Time seemed to slow down in the darkness that enveloped these passages, and he had no sure way to measure time.

"Two hours? Or maybe more," Axel muttered to himself, feeling a little lost in this dark and isolated dungeon. Every step felt like a challenge to time and luck, because he didn't yet know how far he had to walk before finding the exit.

Hunger began to eat away at Axel in the dark and dangerous darkness of the dungeon. The pain and exhaustion left him feeling low, but the need for food and drink became more urgent. Axel held his chin tightly, pondering what he could do in this situation.

"I need food to survive in this place," Axel muttered in silence. "But where can I find food here?"

He realized that in this dangerous dungeon, finding food was not an easy thing. The impossibility of returning to the lake in conditions like this didn't seem like a wise choice for Axel. His weak body condition and the pain he still feels will make him vulnerable to danger in the water. Axel needs to look for other alternatives to get food and overcome the hunger that haunts him.

He looked around him, trying to find any signs of a food source. There may be edible plants or small animals nearby. Axel realized that he had to remain alert to the threat of monsters in this dungeon, but the need for food and drink was also a priority that he could not ignore.

Axel continued his steps through the dark corridors of the dungeon, holding back the hunger gnawing at his stomach. Every step he took felt heavy, and the pain from the wounds from the previous battle still tormented his body. However, his desire to stay alive and continue his journey leads him through the gripping darkness.

While he walked, Axel tried to concentrate his mind to stay alert to any possible dangers around him. The roars of monsters and screams that still echoed in the distance served as a reminder that he must not let his guard down in this threat-filled environment.

Seeing a faint light at the end of the hall gave Axel a little hope. Carefully and passionately, he quickened his steps towards the source of the light. His every step was driven by the desire to find a way out of the darkness that surrounded him.

The light grew brighter as he approached, giving him confidence that he might be nearing the end of this dark passage. He ignored the tiredness and hunger that was sinking into him, focusing on his approaching goal.

After exiting the darkness of the dark alley, Axel found himself in the middle of a landscape filled with various kinds of plants. Even though it was still dark, the faint light from these plants provided some light to the surroundings.

The dim light from the glowing plants gave him some peace after the arduous journey through the darkness. Carefully, Axel continued to step among the glowing plants, looking for other signs of life or perhaps clues about this place.

Axel paid close attention to the characteristics of the plants around him, trying to identify the floor of the dungeon where he was.

"Is that so… So, this is the 48th floor." He muttered when he saw the characteristics of the plants around him.

Axel realized that surviving on the 48th floor was not an easy matter, especially for a beginner adventurer who was still full of wounds. However, he had no choice but to continue forward. These floors may provide a chance to take a break from monsters and looming danger, but conditions in the dungeon can change quickly.

Carefully, Axel continued to step among the faintly glowing plants, looking for sources of food and shelter.

Suddenly, not far from where he was currently standing, the shining plant made a noisy sound which made Axel become alert and gripped the dagger tightly in his right arm and prepared to face what was behind the plant.

His heart was beating fast and cold sweat was slowly flowing from his skin, but he didn't move an inch from where he was standing right now because he was aware of the dangers on the 48th floor and if behind the plants was a strong monster he could just ran quickly back into the dark alley behind him.

Quickly, the figure of a small monster jumped past Axel quickly. Axel was shocked and screamed loudly when he saw the monster jump in front of him.

"Wow!!" surprised by the sudden incident.

Axel looked back and saw the figure of a white furry creature with horns on its head.

"Horn rabbits?" he muttered with a confused face when he saw the creature.

The monster's habitat is usually found from floors 6 to 9. Even though this monster is not too dangerous, what makes it troublesome is that it moves very fast and is difficult to catch. It looks like the monster got lost and went deeper due to the effects of 'Ground Zero'.

Of course, he had never caught any of the furry monsters because he was only a courier for every adventurer, but he always noticed how every adventurer tried to catch the monsters to use as food in the dungeon.

The way to catch it looks quite easy, like making a trap or using a lasso that has been given magic to catch it. But, those two things are not in him right now. Therefore, he could only rely on his skills in surviving in dungeons to catch this monster.

Carefully, Axel moved slowly towards the monster, trying to disguise his presence so as not to be detected. When he was close enough, he aimed the dagger he was holding carefully but effectively, anticipating the monster's reaction.

The dagger was thrown with deadly precision, striking the Horn Rabbit's body with precision. In an instant, the monster fell lifeless. Axel felt a little relieved because he managed to defeat the monster without having to fight directly.

"PLAYER SUCCESSFULLY MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS FOR OPENING THE SYSTEM." Suddenly, a digital window appeared in front of him. Axel was surprised and confused to see the message.

"Eh?"
