Everyone in the wat meeting was paying attention to me. I said I have a plan, so they want to hear the plan. I've been thinking about this for some time and I think I have it. I interacted with the holographic map and only highlighted our country, the Kingdom of Falmuth, and Clayman's domain. We only have a few months to pull this off before Rimuru comes back and I also need to avoid a war on two fronts.
I addressed everyone present in the room. "Now listen up, our main enemies will be Clayman and Falmuth. We'll fight Clayman first and then focus on Falmuth. We're going to hit Clayman hard and fast. It will also help that we have some element of surprise with us. After all, he won't be expecting an invasion of his domain from us. We're going to be employing blitzkrieg tactics for this war.".
I interacted with the map again and only showed our country and Clayman's domain. "Here's how this will go. Benimaru and Hakurou, you two will lead a force of kijin, orcs, and goblin riders into his domain. You guys will move fast and hit them hard. You will keep moving without stopping. Only focus on military targets and facilities. Leave any innocents out of it.". As I said that, little images representing Benimaru and Hakurou, showed up on the map with arrows showing where they would invade from.
"Gabiru, this next part is your task.". I saw Gabiru immediately straighten his back and salute me.
"You and your men will be our air force. As Benimaru and Hakurou go in you will go ahead of them and start attacking any enemies from the air to make it an easier fight for Benimaru and Hakurou. Don't focus only on one position though. You need to move all around the place. You're going to unleash fire from above whether it be fire breath or firebombs, I don't care. Cause damage and then keep moving. Your job is to ultimately bomb them, keep bombing them, bomb them again, and then again.". After I finished, another icon, representing Gabiru, popped up on the map and showed the route he would take for the attack.
"I will not fail you, Lady Pendragon!.". He's fired up. That's good. I can tell he's using him not getting knighted as motivation to do his best.
"Wait a moment, please. If you'll allow me to speak up". I looked over and saw that it was Vesta who was speaking up. I gave him permission to speak. His focus might be on science, but he should understand some warfare. He worked on that magisoldier project or whatever it was called. "If you need me to, I could speak to King Gazel about assisting you.".
"I appreciate the offer and while I do feel that he would send some troops, this ultimately isn't his war. Also, the treaty we have technically only allows him to send troops if we're being invaded, not the other way around, so I'll have to decline. Thank you for the offer though.". Vesta sulked back in his seat.
"What about the reaction of the other human nations?". This time is was Kaijin who was speaking. He probably wants to speak up for Vesta and make him feel a bit better.
"That is simple. They won't care. From their point of view, this is merely another conflict between monsters. In fact, I'm willing to bet they'll silently cheer for us to win. Why? It's because we're going to war with a demon lord. If we win, that's one less demon lord they have to worry about.".
Kaijin was thinking about it, but then he spoke up again. "What about the Kingdom of Falmuth? If they see we're having a war, won't they attack us and take advantage of it?".
I smiled. This is the perfect time to introduce another part of the plan. "Don't worry, I've thought about that as well.". I looked over at Souei. "Soeui, this is where you'll come in. You and your team's task will be to infiltrate Falmuth. I want you to do 2 things. The first is information gathering. You will gather as much information about them as you can. Try to get physical evidence like documents, orbs, and things like that. This is just in case people ask us some questions. The next is your important task. Sabotage. You and your team will sabotage the kingdom, delaying any plans they have for an invasion. At least, until our war with Clayman is over. Even if they get news that we're fighting Clayman, they won't be in a position to initiate their invasion. Also, watch out for their mage, Razen, he will be your biggest threat.".
Souei simply nodded after everything I said. I looked over at Kaijin and he seemed satisfied with my answer.
"Good. Now let's go back to the Clayman front.". The map moved back over to Clayman's domain. Everything was still in place, but I made one little modification. I put a line near the border of Clayman's domain and the Eastern Empire. Everyone noticed this so I quickly explained it to them. "I know I said the human nation won't care, but there's an exception to everything. In this case, the Eastern Empire. They will definitely know about the war that will happen. If we attack too close to them, they might send some forces to attack, and we don't want that to happen. This is another reason why I want us to move fast. The faster we end the war with Clayman, The less we need to worry about the Eastern Empire. But just in case anyone sees someone from the Eastern Empire, tell me immediately and I will confront them myself if needed.".
Everyone who would be fighting in Clayman's domain nodded, showing that they understood what I was going to say. Next, I turned my attention to Shion, who was looking at me with something akin to puppy eyes. She was practically begging me to give her orders. This was good because she was going to do most of the "hard" part of hitting them fast and hard. In simple terms, she was going to act like a berzerker.
"Shion, you will be our wildcard. You won't be leading a team. Instead, you'll be going in solo and wreaking havoc on our enemies. Go ahead and run around like a bat out of hell on the battlefield.". I kept it short for her. I'm not saying she's an airhead or anything, but this kind of thing suits her more.
Next, I looked at Geld. "Geld, you will be in charge of defending us from our west. I'll be in charge of the East, handling our offense and defense there. You will be only defending. In case Falmuth attacks despite Soeui's sabotage, I want you there along with some orcs to defend it. Don't worry about the number of men you'll have at your disposal. Since you're only going to be defending, you'll have the advantage. There's something called the 3 to 1 rule in combat. Tha attacking force needs three times the number of people defending to succeed in their attack. Now in this case, there are more variables, but keep that in mind.".
"I wll make sureto do that, Lady Pendragon. I will do my duty to the best of my abilities.". He still seemed to carry some guilt. Not as much as his original self, but it was still there. I hope this will take some of it off of him.
"Now, that should cover everything. Does anyone have questions?".
"What about our other allies?". It was Benimruw who said that.
"Well, they don't really have a reason to. Now, do they have grudges against Clayman? Yes, no question about it, but that's not enough for them to contribute troops for a fight. Milim…is Milim. She was only in it for the fun in the first place. As for Frey, while Clayman might have stressed her out, ultimately her country wasn't damaged. The only one who has some valid reason is Carrion, but he also might not do anything. Even if Phobio was hurt, it was his fault in the first place. Now, it would've been different if he was forcefully attacked or kidnapped and fed to Charybdis as its vessel, but he wasn't. All of that was of his own volition. Also, his kingdom wasn't damaged. The alliances we have with them are also like the ones with Dwargon. They'll help if we're being invaded, but not if we invade someone. That's about it. Any other questions?".
"Is there a name for this invasion or operation we're doing?". It was Vesta who said it.
I thought about and he was right. We need a good name for this plan or operation we're doing. I thought for a few seconds and came up with a good name.
"I call it, Operation: Alpha Mike Foxtrot.".
"What does that mean?", Vesta asked me.
"Don't worry about it. That'll be all for today. I'll give you all a couple of days to get in some last-minute training as well as to prepare yourselves.". With that, our war meeting came to an end. The general planning came to an end. If we needed to add in some last-minute things we could. I do have something in mind to make this more proportional and it would involve Rhongoymyniad.
