"Mr Oshiro! We have an emergency!" Everyone in the room was scrambling to watch the radar on the big screen. Two points were spotted representing objects or figures along a shoreline. It was only a matter of time until they figure out what was going on there.
The green indicator caught Mr Oshiro's attention and he definitely didn't like what he saw.
"It's Carium. He's surfaced again but why?" Frantically, Mr Oshiro dialed a number on the nearest phone. Nobody was picking up on the other side so he decided to inform everyone in the room of what to do.
One of the men pointed at the other red point on the screen. Based on the frequent clashes between the two pointers, Mr Oshiro guessed there was a battle happening at the location. Some of the conversations in the room was about another kaiju but Mr Oshiro thought otherwise these sudden kaiju appearances didn't seem right.
The other screens beside the big one were turned on revealing footage of a beach. Atlas was now monitoring the cameras from the local oceanic station in the area. Those working on the surveillance rushed to search the battleground of these monsters which they were certain had to be nearby.
Squinting his eyes at the red indicator on the screen which was slightly smaller than the green one, Mr Oshiro felt his veins turn cold upon realization of what it was.
"It's the alien creature." Mr Oshiro choked out while the rest of the people in the room got up from their seats and crowded around the screen in shock. There was no denying that Mr Oshiro was right. Not too long ago that same creature severely damaged parts of Rome and Paris. It must have traveled somewhere else after that.
A lady standing beside Mr Oshiro was flipping through the records of kaiju attacks that have occurred. Mr Oshiro asked her to check on the information about Carium's recent appearances for confirmation about the other kaiju's identity. If there are no connections to the sea monster's previous emergence that confirms it, this was Myriad Nebulas, the same one they heard about on the radio.
"How on Earth did Carium the Deep Sea Crusader know about this other creature if it doesn't have any connection with it? I mean he does appear when the other two kaiju like the Mongolian Death Worm and Hail Bird create havoc around the globe but there was never a case where he stood on the front lines during another monster attack." One of Mr Oshiro's colleagues said while watching the battle unfold on the screen.
"It had to be some sort of catalyst caused by the alien monster. That thing is known for contaminating the air of an area that it's present in. Even the ocean isn't safe from it." Mr Oshiro explained.
"Based on the reports there's no indication that Carium has any ties with this monster," The lady spoke. "His last emergence was a year ago when he was reported to have sunken ships in the Pacific Ocean after an oil spill. It's speculated that the environmental interference might have angered him so he took matters to his own hands."
Mr Oshiro and the men standing around him nodded. "Carium caused the whirlpool too. That was on June 12th, 1992, the same year he attacked those ships."
"If I remember correctly, Carium got into recent fights with the other two kaiju. Any updates regarding the aftermath of the incident?"
"Those fights took place in different locations during a short span of time. We haven't heard from any of them for a while." Mr Oshiro responded he waited for what the lady was about to say as she was flipping through pages in the file.
Looking at the images of the Mongolian Death Worm and Hail Bird, the lady spoke again. "These two kaiju are still active so far but they haven't reached a disastrous level yet. The recent fights might have made them a little more subtle."
The lady handed over the file to Mr Oshiro who immediately began browsing through the reports. A few of them had scribbles and highlights of annotations and important details to keep note of. Most of which were at the very front of the file but there was one that shocked him to his core.
"Why is Angel Subzero's records classified under 'Highly Dangerous'? He hasn't done anything wrong. The only thing that is threatening habitats and lifeforms is the storm that he's trying to diminish." Mr Oshiro wasn't happy with the report he was reading this was a huge misunderstanding.
Almost everyone in the room gave him a look of dissatisfaction with what he just said. "Mr Oshiro, the Winter Storm is very deadly and you should know that. We can't even go outside that much because if we do, we'll get hyperthermia and frost bites. There are people out there who are suffering because of this storm."
"But why would you put him at a level above the alien monster which is the real threat here?!" Mr Oshiro slammed the file down on the table in anger.
"Please understand, every nation has discussed a way to eradicate the storm, including its trigger point. This is not about who is worse, regardless of whether Angel Subzero is helping us or not, if he did care the storm would've been gone by now." The man said confidently.
Mr Oshiro ran towards the man and grabbed him by the collar. Behind him was the lady and a few others trying to calm him down.
"You don't understand! Douma has been doing a lot to help us! The Winter Storm isn't his fault and the alien creature has killed many people the numbers have gone way higher this week!"
"Mr Oshiro, friend or foe his presence is destroying the world as we speak. It's not a matter of intention, he is dangerous. Your favorite stars are long gone and you cared a lot about them. I cared about them too! Astronomy is something I care about just as much as you do!" The man said sternly. "But I can't accept it when someone or something comes into the picture and takes everything away. The Chairman is going to be very disappointed with you if he hears that you're protecting an invasive lifeform."
Curling his fingers firmly, Mr Oshiro eventually released the man from his grip and scoffed. Everyone watched as he stomped away and stood in front of the big screen. The man had a point, but that was no reason to frame someone. Douma wasn't some invasive lifeform, he's lived among humans. Everything this man said was not only disrespectful but also ridiculous.
He was starting to regret sharing everything he knew about Paradise Shrine's founder with his colleagues. They didn't view his explanation the same way he did. But he couldn't keep it from them forever as they would find out after seeing the frost and discovering the undetectable anomaly that was fighting the alien creature.
"That angel can't be left roaming around. We need to hold him captive to prevent anyone from getting hurt." A voice further down the isle of tables and chairs whispered, and Mr Oshiro couldn't accept what this person said. That's a lie and they know it.
"Or just simply eradicate him, that would solve the problem. In fact we've been discussing about it too. Some of the equipment are good and ready to go for this mission." Another voice whispered, this time making Mr Oshiro even more mad.
That is just cruel. You're no different than those hidden organizations capturing lifeforms and stuffing them into cages for their own entertainment. How did we end up having such twisted people in our cooperation? Mr Oshiro carried on listening to their conversation, it made him sick just thinking about their plans.
"Mr Oshiro we've contacted authorities in Nha Trang. They'll be sending troops to the beach as soon as possible. Any suggestions sir?" The lady informed him.
"Send a team to Vietnam right away. We're dealing with two problems at once." Mr Oshiro replied.
The footage he saw reminded him about the last time the giant crustacean appeared. "Something needs to be done as soon as possible. If this goes on the landmasses around the area will be flooded like last time."
"Got it." The lady continued typing away at her computer reaching out to those she needed to get into contact with.
There was nothing else Mr Oshiro wanted to say. He was feeling very uncomfortable being in the same room as these people. Focusing on the current issue would probably wear off his worries after some time.
Meanwhile, the treacherous battle between the two monsters was still ongoing. The boy didn't dare run out of the shed to safety for every sound made his shivers worsen. If the monsters were far away from the shoreline he'd probably make a run for it.
Carium waited for Nebulas to appear in his peripheral vision before making another move. When it finally came to that point, he immediately grabbed the giant bug and tightened the grip around his pincers.
It was almost impossible to escape the giant crustacean's pincers, they were unbreakable. Nebulas was now squirming in the kaiju's grip. A closeup would show just how large the giant bug's opponent was compared to himself which was already considered relatively huge in size. This giant crustacean was the size of a few buildings laid out against each other in one spot. Sometimes Nebulas wished he had flown away sooner from the shorelines so he wouldn't have to deal with this sea monster.
To add on, Nebulas didn't even know why this sea monster was attacking him. It just appeared out of nowhere demanding a fight.
The sound of static from the pincer holding Nebulas filled the momentary silence. Nebulas watched in horror as electricity flowed from the joints of the sea monster to the claw that was holding him.
In a few seconds the electricity ran through the alien creature, shocking him while the pincer held him in its grip. Who would've thought that this sea monster had a secret weapon this whole time, this was another lethal opponent.
The sea monster released his grip. Nebulas fell into the water feeling extremely weak from that unexpected attack. At this rate, he was not prepared for any of this giant crustacean's next moves. Every one of them has been overwhelming and the giant bug's recent attacks were all proven to be futile. Not one scratch has appeared on Carium's tough impenetrable armor.
Taking a deep breath, the boy decided to do the impossible and that was to run for it. Whether the monsters would see him or not doesn't matter as long as he can get out of here once and for all.
Slowly, he opened the creaky door and took a quick cautious look at his surroundings carefully. He then crept out making sure not to make any sound that will catch the attention of the two monsters.
As he was about to take another step forward, the boy noticed something standing a few inches away from him. Something that was quite unpleasant to encounter in this situation.
The boy let out a bone-chilling scream there was a literal walking plant with sharp teeth and claws creeping towards him. Its saliva was dripping from its mouth with a few drops of it splashing onto the sand below that got soaked.
Completely forgetting about the initial plan of running to safety, the boy rushed back to the shed but it was too late. The creature got in before he could even close the door, his last source of security.
