Chapter 66 - Chapter 66

"Leave me alone please go away!" The plant monster had closed in on him. It would constantly snap its jaws at the boy scaring him even more. Outside was still a disaster that parts of the shoreline weren't recognizable anymore. There were craters in the sand and seaweed scattered everywhere.

The sea monster narrowed his eyes at the fallen opponent lying in front of him. Now was a little too early to declare the winner of this battle. And from the looks of it, Nebulas wasn't giving up yet.

Bracing himself, Carium took a step back and raised his pincer to knock off the incoming bug diving towards him. This was a mere surprise attack, one that Carium had predicted. Anything Nebulas comes up with always resulted in a surprise attack afterwards. Carium was the wrong opponent to test the waters with.

I'll make sure I end you right here crab. Don't underestimate me. Nebulas focused on his opponent who stood there waiting for what he was about to do.

The bug slowly closing in, Carium quickly fired a pair of water cannons from the two openings above his eyes. This stunned Nebulas that he didn't have time to react causing him to lose balance and drop a few feet down. Whether he was airborne or touching the water this sea monster always had its pincers on his tail.

"What is this blasphemy? I will not be taken for a fool!" Anger surged through Nebulas. There's no way he was getting beaten by some crab.

The alien monster dove towards the sea monster's tail in an attempt to throw him back into the ocean.

But that turned out to be a huge mistake, upon grabbing the sharp tail another jolt of electricity startled him. It was just as painful as the shockwave from the pincer.

In exhaustion, Nebulas let go of the tail and flew back to the front of the sea monster who eyed him from the corner of his eye. It was hard to believe that something so intimidating couldn't foresee the outcome of its own decisions, no wonder Nebulas kept making horrendous mistakes during this battle which only resulted in him getting beaten over and over again. He was too full of himself.

Fumes began rising from the surface of Carium's armor. Nebulas flew up and prepared for the next attack, charging up the acid that was accumulating in his throat to the brim.

Carium stretched out his right pincer and fired a blue orb resembling concentrated water at Nebulas who unleashed a blast of acid at it which resulted in a huge explosion that created a gust of strong wind.

Both monsters continued firing back and forth at each other. Not long later clouds of smoke formed in the sky covering the light of day. At some point Nebulas managed to land a hit on Carium causing him to tumble back. Not even the wall of water that blocked the giant crustacean from further attacks could protect him anymore. His defenses have been bypassed.

"That's what happens when you get in my way. I hope you've learned your lesson. Don't even think of getting away." Nebulas sneered, he was looking forward to the aftermath of this battle where he would be victorious. Nothing on this Earth stands a chance against him, the alien creature was gifted with such powers and resistance that others envied. The giant crustacean should know better than to start a meaningless fight and Nebulas was going to make sure this encounter was simply a petty waste of time.

The battle continued as the monsters continued clashing with each other. In the shed however, the boy was screaming for his life kicking the plant monster away but it wasn't working. Sometimes it would grab onto his ankle and try to drag him out with its jaws wide open.

As this went on, the boy's breathing got faster his lungs tightening every time he looked up at the creature towering over him. The week after was his examination, he couldn't meet his demise now, not ever. A new chapter in his life was about to begin, one bringing him closer to the career he dreamed of. That malicious expression on the monster's face was no different than the humiliation of others', it almost looked like a smile as if the monster could read his thoughts. It had no mercy.

Under the table at the back was a lawn mower that the boy had found earlier to use as a form of defense. This was the perfect time to bring his finding to use.

Throwing another hard kick at the plant monster's face, the boy took the opportunity to run over to spot and grab the lawn mower while the creature was down. I will get out of here! He pushed himself to keep going for it was only a short distance.

A growl of anger startled the boy as he turned around and saw the plant monster getting up. The grass-looking creature sprang up to its feet and rushed towards him swinging its sharp claws at him a few times as he turned on the lawn mower.

Without hesitation the boy plunged the lawn mower into the creature's shoulder shredding its body into bits of trimmed grass that fell to the ground, forming a pile beside where it stood.

This worked as the plant monster backed away but struggled to go far towards the open door of the shed. The area between its neck and shoulder was stuck under the blades of the lawn mower. Its screams of pain filled the air that soon smelled like fumes and grass. A sign that the plant monster was about to meet its demise since it was getting shredded at an accelerating rate.

The boy pushed the plant monster away from him with the lawn mower its screams were piercing his ears it was hard to focus on the situation outside. He stretched the lawn mower closer to the plant monster which made it crouch down in agony from the forceful tug it felt on its neck.

After a while the screams died down. Eventually the plant monster stopped moving and fell to the floor. Piles of grass covered the floor with a pool of murky liquid leaking out from the plant monster's lifeless body. This mess had to be cleaned up soon.

With the lawn mower still in his grasp, the boy took a deep breath and ran out the door. The monster battle was still taking place at shore while they were distracted, he quickened his space and sped towards the road leading to town. He was finally safe.

The waves seeped further down the shore knocking over items like umbrellas and a beach ball that had been left behind since the storm. Nebulas shoved the giant crustacean backwards with his arm. He then flew up getting ready to unleash his cannon.

A purple light started flickering in his chest followed by static that formed an energy source accumulating into a darker ore. "Elizer Cannon!" Nebulas fired the purple beam at Carium forming a large wall of water that struck land and sending patches of sand flying into the air that damaged numerous trees and infrastructure.

Nebulas flew to the sky not even taking a second to look back at the destruction he caused. The battle was over and he can finally carry out his next plan without any disturbances.

That familiar sound echoed in the sky leaving a sinister smile on his face. It seems Mr Moikawa had seen the fight and wanted him to return to base. Whatever he had planned must be a great one they had been discussing ways to achieve the new order that humans will live by. Starting with the acknowledgement of other creatures with a higher sense of awareness than them.

With that settled, humans will learn to be more open-minded towards other ideas, and creatures like Nebulas wouldn't have to keep fighting for their livelihood on Earth. It was brilliant to know that Mr Moikawa accepted this idea. He must really be understanding to dismiss his privilege as a human to give other beings the chance to flourish in the same space.

After all, there were resources they needed to get their hands on. Working side by side would bring benefit to the world. Proof that humans can coexist with anything even the most undeceivable of creatures.

Nebulas was fond of Mr Moikawa's dedication to the plan, it seems he found the most suitable group of humans that could help him achieve what he always longed for. Picking up his speed, Nebulas got ready for his return to Tokyo, eager to find out more about the next plan that awaited him.
