Chapter 64 - Chapter 64

While the affected areas were recovering from the damage, Nebulas flew to the most spacious location he could find to plan his next move. The angel and his friends back in Tokyo were on the lookout for him so he had to act fast. He can't let his guard down.

There was a clear view of the ocean in front of him. Nebulas dove down towards the shore that came into view. It was late afternoon and there seemed to be no one at the beach which was a perfect time for him to settle down without having to deal with any intrusion.

Likelihood, the cold drove people away from open spaces. Unfortunately, the beach just so happens to fall under that same category. A desolate beach during the time of August was rare. The storm really changed a lot of things.

Nebulas landed on the icy sand and began to drink the water in front of him. Salty or not, he needed a drink and it wasn't an issue. His body contained abundant amounts of acid. That alone was enough to scare others, salt wouldn't even hurt a fly.

A small shed stood a few feet away from the alien creature. Peering from the side of the wooden structure was a boy wearing a hat supposedly to protect him from the sun which has disappeared for the past week. His clothes weren't enough to protect him from the sheer cold despite wearing layers and a thick jacket, but he had no other choice but to keep working. He stood by his word and that was to protect the beach and keep the area nice and clean.

The boy looked at the creature in fear and awe. On the other hand, this was a vicious monster just waiting to maul anyone who passes by. This person watching him was no exception.

It was hard to believe this creature even existed. No way it was an animal from Earth it had to be from a place that humanity has never seen before. The boy did hear about a giant bug-like creature attacking people, presumably from space. He never thought the day would come where he got to see this alien creature up close. At the same time, he wished he didn't this thing came straight out of his nightmares and it was very unnerving with the other aliens attached to its limbs probably watching the boy hiding behind the shed.

Now it was only a matter of time before the alien monster finds out about the boy's presence. Maybe he already knew but isn't reacting yet? Regardless, this little shed couldn't protect the boy it would break into pieces the minute the alien creature flies into it. Others might consider him a fool for doing this, but he was going to stay and protect himself and the shed. The boy wouldn't want the beach to become a dead zone.

Standing on his toes, the boy quietly walked towards the door of the shed and opened it carefully. He needed to find a weapon to defend himself, no doubt he was small compared to this thing but size didn't matter when it comes to the pain inflicted on the surface. Taking another look at the giant alien, the door was carefully closed shut, the boy feeling a little relieved that the monster outside didn't hear him.

The beach of Nha Trang, Bai Bien was always full of visitors especially tourists who travel to Vietnam. Such captivating scenic views gave the beach its significance which is why the boy always enjoyed his part-time job here. This very aspect was a form of motivation for him.

Which is why, this alien creature's presence in this beach was odd. There was no one else here except this repelling creature.

Nebulas was still unaware of the human watching him from afar. The alien monster stood there looking in all directions. Little did he know the acidity from his body had traveled to the depths of the ocean, creating a disaster in the reefs of the ocean.

The acid contaminated the waters including the lifeforms residing in every corner. Aquatic plants shriveled up and withered the minute the acid came into contact with them. Fishes and other organisms like shrimp and eels succumbed to the disease caused by the acid. A few lifeless bodies fell to the ocean floor, rotting away as the new invasive cells took over.

Whilst the contamination was spreading, the acid continued traveling further down into the depths of the ocean they slowly entered the deep dark caverns that led to a few tunnels intended to lead the acid somewhere.

And then they finally reach it, the last few aquatic plants in this secluded location met their fate leaving only one lifeform in the area.

A strong sense of death and suffering covered the entire ocean. The giant creature resting in the chamber opened its large deep blue eyes and saw the ecosystem in its area collapse from the acidic invasion. In a fit of rage, the creature let out a rumbling growl and swam out of the cavern to the surface of the water. The culprit wasn't going to get away with this environmental disaster unleashed upon innocent lifeforms and their habitat that once flourished.

The ground started shaking vigorously. Nebulas was about to take a few steps back when a wall of water erupted, revealing a giant crustacean that had risen to the surface unexpectedly.

The creature appeared to have two pincers and an extremely long tail that was sharp at the end. It was towering over the alien creature, this sea monster was a kaiju and it was eyeing the alien creature down like some kind of foe.

In a panic, the boy rushed out of the shed and stared at the two monsters wide-eyed. Especially at the giant horseshoe crab that had emerged from the water. The kaiju's body looked like that of a horseshoe crab however its overall appearance looked more prehistoric with the large blue eyes on the surface of the armored plates. A normal horseshoe crab's eyes would be beneath the armored plates. The kaiju's long tail appeared to be sharp enough to plunge even the toughest surface it could land on.

How is this happening? There are two monsters right outside the shed! Apparently, Nebulas wasn't the scariest creature out there. The giant sea monster towering over the shore took the cake for being the most terrifying the boy has ever seen.

Without a second thought, the boy rushed back into the shed and made sure to lock the door this time. Even though it was pointless to do so since the monsters could just break through the wood, he wanted to feel secure. There was nothing he could do to defend himself from such vicious beasts. Moreover, he was the only one in the beach, there was nobody out there who could help him, no person would go all out to lend a helping hand to someone if they were caught in between two monsters.

There are people who will go the extra mile to help, however the boy knew not to expect too much from others. He was alone in this situation that was the truth. Anyone outside wouldn't even know he was hiding in the shed.

Soon the two monsters started lunging at each other. Nebulas slammed his arm into the giant crustacean's side. The other creatures on the alien monster's arm kept their jaws open to bite down on the giant crustacean that quickly managed to move out of the way and shoved Nebulas into the ground with its pincer.

To Nebulas' dismay, the giant crustacean remained unscathed. Its armor was extremely tough and sturdy. Gritting his teeth in frustration, Nebulas flew up into the air and fired a blast of purple flame towards the kaiju who stood there waiting for what its opponent was about to do.

At that very moment, the giant bronze crustacean jumped back and watched the burst of purple flame land in the water. An explosion occurred leaving toxic fumes that rose from the water but didn't leave much of an impact. The water had put out the flame instantly, a sign that Nebulas was fighting his opponent in the wrong field.

The giant crustacean reached out to the alien creature with its pincers trying to get a grip on the giant bug. Nebulas was careful not to underestimate his opponent, in fact it had a greater advantage since it was way bigger than him which made things even more stressful for the giant bug.

Roaring in fury, Nebulas decided to unleash his next move that might guarantee a winning side for him. A glint of menace appeared in his eyes as he flew higher and stretched his arms up with the jaws on every side opening to fire something.

Watching closely, the giant crustacean braced itself as showers of acid came raining down towards its spot. With a lot of force, the kaiju moved back and slammed its pincer into the water creating a large wave that washed away the acid. The area was then returned to its normal state.

This can't be. Nebulas was completely taken aback by this sea monster's skill. Here he thought everything was a simple game to him except the battles with the angel. That was undoubtedly a challenge that he was struggling to get by. This however, felt like a whiplash. The alien creature was left speechless. He never expected something like this sea monster to give him such a difficult time when it should be the one in the position of inferiority.
