Chapter 8 - Sovran Yama

To ordinary people, more than eight thousand seven hundred years was indeed a long time, but to Yama, it seemed like only a year before. Ever since he accepted The Deep master's inheritance, time had become superfluous to him.

In the past eight thousand years, the only thing he had done was to meditate, and to comprehend the true meaning of the laws of the universe. It wasn't until seven hundred years ago that he woke up from his deep meditation.

According to the secret techniques passed down by his master before his death, he knew that a new disaster foretold by his teacher was coming, and now he needed to find the one who could bring mankind out of the disaster.

A destined person, just like when his teacher found Leon. The sooner he found this fire that burned away darkness, the sooner he could prepare for the disaster.

So, seven hundred years ago, Yama left The Deep. He visited almost every corner of the Golden Empire and found several qualified children. He knew that these children could survive the throes of this new disaster. Children who could make a difference. Unfortunately, they were not the kindling he was searching for.

Only under the guidance of this fire could they play their due roles. So, Yama continued his search.

"Please pay attention! The spaceship is about to arrive at its destination, please prepare for landing!" The report from the spacecraft's central computer brought Yama back to reality from his deep thoughts. Through the porthole, the landscape of Mureta 3 Star was already visible outside.

Mureta 3 was an agricultural planet with animal husbandry as its main economic pillar. Except for the capital, which was a small-scale commercial city, other places on the planet were independent private farmlands.

In the Golden Empire, such agricultural planets were not taken seriously by the rulers of the empire. Therefore, apart from regular interstellar flights, few private spacecraft usually visit this type of planet. Therefore, there was only one spaceport in the capital of the entire planet for interstellar flights and occasional private spacecraft to dock.

When Yama stepped onto the ground of the port, he saw a depressing scene in front of him. This was almost a ghost place. Not to mention those commercial planets and military planets, even the airports of ordinary immigrant planets were many times livelier than here.

The port on Mureta 3 could barely be called a spaceport. Perhaps only during the harvest season would a few special transport spaceships from the Imperial Civil Affairs Bureau appear here.

"Huh?" Suddenly, Yama had a strange feeling, as if there was someone here who had been waiting for him. Yama walked in the direction guided by his feeling. He stopped at the entrance of the spaceport. His eyes stayed on the glass wall next to the entrance, where a boy was looking at him through the glass wall. His blue eyes were as deep as the sea.

Whenever he came to Mureta 3 City, the capital of Mureta 3 Star, Linley's favorite place to go was the airport, because he could see the spaceships there. He liked to look at the spaceships of different sizes and shapes on the tarmac through the glass wall. He liked to imagine that he was the pilot of these spaceships, navigating them through the vast universe.

Linley's biggest wish now was to fly in space. Perhaps this was directly related to the fact that he was born in space, at least this was how Linley explained it to himself every time. What he envied most now was his good friend Bowie, because Bowie had traveled to many different planets with his father when he was a child. Every time he looked at the photos of the planets collected by Bowie, Linley's eyes always reveal a rare touch of envy.

Today, Linley came to the capital with Uncle Bob to deliver goods. For the residents of Planet Mureta 3, they usually came to the capital once a quarter to purchase daily necessities. Normally, the farm's production was enough for them to be self-sufficient. The sale of farm goods did not have to come to the capital.

Through the interstellar network, farmers could easily reach sales agreements with the government or interstellar merchants. Bob knew Linley's hobbies, so when he arrived in the capital, he did not go directly to the shopping city but parked the car outside the airport. After making an arrangement with Linley to pick him up later, Bob left.

Since it was not the harvest season, the airport looked particularly deserted today. There was only one interstellar craft docked on the tarmac, and there were no other spaceships. Linley was slightly disappointed, but he soon became happy again, because he saw a spaceship in the distant sky flying towards the airport with flames trailing its tail.

When the spaceship landed, Linley frowned in curiosity. This was a spaceship that he had never seen before. It was not big and could be considered petite. Its appearance looked a bit like a bird from the ancient origin planet mentioned in the textbook of the Interstellar Network School. A vanished bird from the world - the swallow.

Except for the slightly dull color of the belly, the entire spacecraft was pitch black, a black color like the night starry sky. A silver trident was painted on the hatch of the spacecraft.

"So beautiful." Linley stared at the spaceship intently. He couldn't help but secretly hope. "If I could only get up there."

The hatch of the spacecraft opened, and the escalator extended from the hatch to the ground. An energetic old man stepped off the spacecraft. The old man had silver hair and wore a black deviant robe. When he walked, he was as energetic as the young man.

Yama came to the boy, "Hello, my name is Yama, can you tell me your name, young one?"

"My name is Linley, Linley Raven." Linley looked at the old man in front of him, and it was strange that he didn't feel any strangeness to him. It was as if they had known each other a long time ago.

"Nice to meet you Linley." Yama said with a smile. "Are you looking at my ship?"

"Yes, sir. It's so beautiful." Linley sighed.

"Yes, she is indeed beautiful." Yama seemed to feel something. "And you know what? I've flown her across half of the galaxy, and she's still as strong as ever."

"Really? You must also be an interstellar traveler like my friend."

"I guess I am."

"How great it would be if I could fly such a spaceship around different stars too!" Linley immediately expressed his extravagant hopes.

"Your dream will definitely come true!" Yama seemed to answer seriously. "Just a little patience is all you need."

The old and the young boy just stared blankly at the spaceship on the tarmac through the glass wall.

After a long time, Linley suddenly looked up at the old man and asked softly: "Sir, can I visit your spaceship? I have never been on such a spaceship before."

"Hm?" Yama was stunned for a moment, then laughed, "Of course! It will be my honor.""
