Chapter 29 - 29. Evolution.

The beginning of spring ment the awakening of hibernating animals and food for the tribe.

The animals awoke hungry from their long sleep to find food only to meet the even hungrier beastmen who had long depleted there winter stores.

The river tiger tribe was very lively as the first spring hunt concludes today as the tribe warriors came back from the 10 days long first hunt.

Toma, chief Tuca's younger brother and leader of the elite warriors of tribe leads them into the clearing at the entrance of the tribe. The warriors in beastform carry loads bound in animal hide on there backs.

They packages are unbound and separated into two piles on the ground in the center of the clearing.

One piles drips red blood and the other a murky green.

The new spring hunt was led by Toma this time because of the changes happening to beasts near the tribe , there was a need to keep the young warriors safe as it was there first real hunt.

If not for that, as the brother of the chief and leader of the elite warriors of the tribe he need not protect the young new warriors on there hunt as any experienced warrior would just fine .

But things haven't been peaceful lately, anything could happen in the forest and unlike the seasoned warriors of the tribe these children were weak and so he as the only other silverglow rank in the tribe had to step forward .

Toma had quite a bit of popularity in the tribe as he was very brave and strong, regardless of his sometimes vile tricks.

He had fought the chief in the past for the position of chieftain but had lost and had become the leader of the elite warriors instead as a form of appeasement.

In the middle of the clearing in front of the tribe's intrance, the two piles stood side by side.

The red blooded one consisting of mostly unranked common beasts, a few mutated black iron and 3 bronze beasts. There meat and innards on one side of pile with hide and bones on the other.

The other pile, green blooded, was much smaller as it was composed of common wild beasts of black iron and bronze ranks. The inedible meat discarded already, leaving the useful yet ugly hides on one side and the bones, claws and poison sacks on the other side of the pile.

The new river tiger tribe warrior stood behind the two piles of pray things as the tribesmen formed a semi-circle around them. The young warriors who have now been through battle had there chest puffed up in pride whilst the tribesmen looked at the blooded youths in admiration, the look in there eyes one of anticipation of the future growth of the new warriors .

There were those who also were more interested in the hunted pray than the pride filled youths. The two big piles showed a good harvest but also the dangers that came with it.

The mutated and common wild beasts were not easy to hunt unlike the unranked beasts.

The unranked beasts were those who had bearly managed to evolve during the Genesis fusion but gained no strength or ability, only a slight change in appearance. An example being the blue - eyed rabbit who's only change was the eye color.

The mutant beasts on the other hand had evolved better causing a change in the body's look, the bloodline, strength and they able to gain rank and improve there ranks, bloodline etc.

The situation with the common wild beasts was what happened when nature doesn't favor you. There evolution was considered both a success and a failure. They were ranked and could raise in ranks in terms of bloodline and strength but it was on a narrow, predetermined path. They was flawed, forsaken by nature, relied on primal instinct to survive instead of intelligence which came with evolution but we're still the most numerous in number apart from the unranked beasts as there breeding was easy.

Of the bottom rug, only they and the unranked beasts could multiple almost without difficulty. They were also made of up of different failed species, with different bodies types and shapes yet with the same affliction and appearance. Therefore although are of originally different species they are grouped as one, with a common name.

They were most common hear in the fringes of the continent along with the unranked beasts and low rank mutated or mutant beasts, as they can not thrive anywere in the middle or center regions.

The reason, weakness and there tintered, flawed bloodline.

But here on the fringes, tribes like the river tiger tribe can only desperately try to survive under their claws since the most powerful fighters here could at most be mid-silver rank when the wild beasts could reach high or in rear cases peak-silver.
