Mika followed Mänd, along with the chief and the elders to the clearing. The tribesmen had crowded together there and it was very lively.
There were many male beastmen in there beastforms there, most of which were the young warrior who just came from the hunt. The young warriors had stayed in their beastforms to show off to the few females around. Flexing their feline bodies to display their potential as future top hunters.
Other than the young tigers showing off, there were the older males who had come to the clearing with their mates on their backs and those who like the younger tigers, were here to take the opportunity to show themselves off also in hopes of attracting a female.
With the appearance of the chief and elders, the place claimed down as everyone arranged themselves in an orderly manner.
The tribesmen formed a semi-circle behind the young warriors, leaving the chief and elders to stand before them.
Mänd took Mika by the hand and they left the chief's side to join the tribesmen in the back. But since they were both ferals, they could only stand near the crowd and not with them.
Mika noticed that they were not standing with the rest of the tribesmen but soon turned the thought out of his mind since something else drew his attention.
These beastmen in there beastforms were small.
They were definitely larger than when in human form but we're only slightly bigger than the extinct tiger in the records of species found on the earth, the lost otherworld of the galactic empire of which Mika came from.
Although they were beastmen, the difference between them and the lost species were not much. But why were they so small and kinnai so large?
Kinnai's body in beastform was larger than any bear from the records. It would take five brown bears to make one kinnai. His fur color was also unlike any bear in the records but these Tigers were different. They looked just like those ordinary tigers from the record except being slightly bigger.
Whilst Mika was busy thinking about why there was this difference, another was also looking at him.
Toma, as a silverglow rank has sharper senses that the other beastmen and had noticed he and those around him were being stared at intently. If Mika was further away from him and not looking at them so pointedly, he may not have noticed.
He had not seen Mika in the tribe before
and was wondering when he joined them. Even if he did not know all the members of the tribe, a dark skined and white haired person would be conspicuous in tribe full of light but tanned skined people no matter how they hide.
So must have just joined.
Toma turned his eyes away from the intently studying Mika and signaled to his brother. When chief Tuca looked back, he turned his head towards Mika and raised his brows in a questioning manner.
Chief Tuca understood his brother's look and smiled.
' The boy is probably not going to have a good time in the future'
The chief thought as he nodded his head. His brother needed a mate by his side but didn't like females, he liked beautiful boys but hadn't found any of age that suited him.
Though Mika was of unknown origin, he was waek and beautiful. He was also of age from his words, so he gave Toma the permission to have him. A weak person with no beast is off little use to a tribe. So as not to waste food on him, he can become Toma's thing.
Mänd had seen the first spring hunt many times and was not interested so he decided to look around. He had noticed Mika's strenge staring and decided to scold him about it later.
It was totally a coincidence for him to see the signaling between the chief and Toma. He knew about Toma's preference and his heart skipped a beat.
If Toma has set his eyes on Mika, there will be problems. Mänd looked worriedly at the foolish looking Mika who thought he was a female by his said.
'Will he be alright? He looks too silly to protect himself and he has no beast. How can I make him be vigilant of Toma'
The change of Mänd's mood near him pulled Mika out of his deep thinking, as Mänd's mood was too agitated.
Mika looked at him with his head slightly bent to the side in a cute inquiring fashion.
Mänd was struck by the oddly cute act and then immediately became more worried.
He looked ahead and his met Toma's, he was looking at them, more intently Mika. He had seen the cute act just now and had a look Mänd didn't like on his face.
Mänd stepped in front of Mika in a natural way as if to say something to him, blocking Toma's view with back and causing Mika to become puzzled.
Toma was surprised by Mänd nerve but smiled and turned around to face forward. There will be more time in the future to slowly play, now was not it.
Mänd was worried, Toma was planning his hunt and Mika was oblivious.
But another on the side watching was seeting with anger. Mika was his in his mind and heart, so why were there suddenly annoying competition?
Tuul looked at both Mänd and Toma in anger, how dare they try to take what was his.
